“Rise and shine, the day waits for no one!” Your morning wake up call always brought a smile to your face. Being the daughter of Tony Stark had its perks, one of which is being woken up by one of the many Avengers who all seemed to love you. It also meant Captain America forced you to go on morning runs with him if he was the one waking you up. “Steeeeeve,” you whined, “Its only 5 am, I don’t have school for like 3 hours.” Of course your whining definitely didn’t change his star spangled mind. “Let’s go, Y/N, you have places to be, people to see, and class to pass.”
After you endured your morning torture session, your day was pretty normal. You went to school, tried to pay attention in class, mostly avoided anyone but Peter, your best friend. It wasn’t until lunch that your day went wrong. You were walking to meet Peter, MJ, and Ned when you bumped into a table while passing, knocking someone’s tray onto the floor on accident. “Oh my god, I am so sorry.” You quickly began cleaning up the mess, apologizing profusely, and offering to buy who ever it was a new lunch. You finally looked up and found the eyes of Kennedy. She hated you. And you had just ruined her lunch.
“Why don’t you watch where you’re going, thunder thighs.” Kennedy sneered, as she turned on her heel and walked away. You usually weren’t affected by her insults but that was a new one and it had hurt. You glanced around and saw everyone was too busy in their own worlds, except Peter who had watched the whole interaction. It was a childish move, but as soon as you locked eyes with Peter, you got up from your position crouched on the floor and ran away. You hid in the bathroom for the rest of lunch and avoided Peter for the rest of the day. You were completely humiliated and couldn’t get Kennedy’s taunting voice saying “thunder thighs” out of your head.
By the time you reached the Avengers Tower, you were physically and emotionally drained. When Natasha asked how your day was, you just shrugged and kept moving. When Bruce asked about your chemistry test, you didn’t even respond. Finally you were faced with your dad. Instead of greeting you as normal, he led you to your bedroom and sat on the edge of your bed. “Hey kid, I just talked to the spider, what happened at lunch?” he asked softly and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.
“Its nothing, dad, just ran into Kennedy.” You had hoped he’d drop it. That was not the case. “No, Pete said you were crying and avoiding him. What really happened?” You broke down. It was a really stupid thing to be upset about, you knew that but it just sparked so many insecurities you already had in you. “I knocked her lunch to the floor and I tried to clean it up, even offered to buy here a new one. She just said watch where you’re going thunder thighs. And I don’t know.” You wanted to continue but you felt stupid. “Wait right here sweet heart.” You looked up at your dad in confusion and nodded.
You expected your dad to come back. But you were shocked to see Thor instead. “What are you doing here?” You asked as you jumped up and gave him a hug. “Your father requested my presence, what is wrong? Are you hurt?” You blushed and laughed. “No I’m fine just some trouble at school.” He sat next to you expectantly. After a moment, you looked down at you hands and told him what you told your dad, finishing with, “I guess, I don’t know. I just don’t feel good enough. I live and train with the fucking Avengers and I still have thunder thighs.” Tears are threatening to spill once again.
Taking you hand in his, Thor says, “Thunder is a powerful and beautiful part on nature, I would know. You are beautiful and you are as nature has intended. Nothing is wrong with that. If anything, the term thunder thighs insinuates that your thighs have been blessed by me. If this Kennedy tries to say anything like this again, call on me and I will come to explain her the power of thunder.” You laughed at the thought of Thor showing up and scaring Kennedy. “Thank you, Uncle Thor.” You pulled him into a hug and at that moment, Tony popped his head into your room. “Feeling better, kiddo?” You nodded in response and got up to give him a hug. “Thank you dad, I love you.”
