Summary
So this came from a conversation with LintillaTheArchaeologist on Steven using magic in their The Hair War-verse series. This can be seen as standalone or spoilers for The Hair War, so go on and read that first. Then come back :). When Steven decides to further experiment with Magic.
Note
This is inspired by The Hair War by LintillaTheArchaeologist.Remember those wands in a kids first magician's kit?Does the wand look familiar to a certain Mr. Knight weapon?I regret nothing. And neither does Steven apparently.

Success?

Steven looks through the ancient magical texts one more time.

If he’s done his calculations right, then this should work.

If it doesn’t, well the worst thing that should happen is nothing.

Hopefully.

There is a 10% chance of turning himself into a rabbit, but still!

It’s only 10, okay maybe actually 25% chance, but it is still less than 50%!

He’s worked with worse odds.

Hell, Marc and Jake have worked with much worse odds and come out okay.

Mostly.

Steven pushes aside his doubts and takes advantage of the fact that Khonshu is just as curious about this as he is.

That’s the only reason he’s been getting his nights patrol free for the past few weeks.

Thankfully neither Marc nor Jake have noticed the lack of patrols on Steven’s nights or the fact that none of them are recovering from injuries the next morning.

While Steven experimented, the old pigeon was off doing something else so as not to distract Steven.

They both realized the error of this from last time, when Khonshu loomed over Steven….and Steven may have nearly set something on fire….and blown it up.

He shakes his head, he cannot be distracted tonight.

He finishes memorizing the incantation and the all-important Intent behind the incantation.

He feels confident in his pronunciation, but the Intent will hopefully make sure the…spell well works.

And the Gestures, can’t forget those.

Deep breath in, deep breath out.

He summons his suit and the all important truncheons.

He mentally goes over the incantation one more time.

He then positions the truncheons, one pointing to the ground and the other placed perpendicular above the first.

He recites the incantation and makes sure to put the Intent behind it.

He can feel the truncheons heat up and sees them glow a brilliant silver light.

Which bursts out of the truncheons, causing Steven to fly backwards into the wall behind him.

CLANG

He groans and checks the truncheons, both looking completely normal.

His gaze drifts around the room, checking for damages, Marc would kill him if he damaged the storage unit, he pauses as he notices something on the ground.

Where the truncheon was pointing at.

He carefully gets up, just because the suit healed him did not mean it still didn’t bleedin hurt, and softly pads over.

His eyes widen when he realizes what it is.

He can’t believe it, “WAGWAM! I DID IT!”

On the ground, in the center of a scorch mark, was a stone figurine of Gus.

Well, if you had a strong imagination and knew what Gus looked like.

Then maybe you could see it.

To most it looked like a pink-ish lump of rock with some fish-like detailing of it.

But still.

Steven just conjured it up with magic!

With his truncheons!

He would still needs loads of practice, but who cares!

His mind started to race with all of the possibilities this opened up.

All of the spells in the text, and perhaps even other spells.

His heart nearly stopped at the thought of using Expelliarmus.

He shook his head, he would going to need time, practice, and space before this could become a reality.

He grinned, oh but what a new reality it is.
