Sometimes the apple does fall far from the tree
School finally got out, finally! It felt like forever!... But now you had to go home, the thought of it made dread fill your stomach. (TW! ABUSE, SH, SENSITIVE TOPICS! PLEASE CLICK OFF IF ANY MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE!) You gathered your things, your backpack, notebook, etc. It was Friday so the bell ment weekend.
You slowly walked out, hey, the slower you are the longer it takes to get home. Right? You sighed, shoot your house is across the street from the school. So it doesn't matter what you do, you'll be there soon anyway. You walked slowly hoping mom was out of the house, but you knew her job ended right before you leave school.
You crossed the road and crept up to the house, it was a house. Not a home. Sighing you slowly unlocked the door and closed it behind you, when you turned around to lock it your mother walked over. "Y/N! What took you so long? Your sister was here five minutes ago!" You looked over about to explain yourself, but she grabbed your wrist. Ow.
She held on tight yelling nonsense you couldn't comprehend. She dragged you outside, ok your wrist was definitely getting bruised. But that didn't matter, what did matter was figuring out what the help she was doing with you this time. You assumed labor, that's what usually happened when she brought you outside.
But there was also being shunned out of the house, that was possible. You shook your head, at least if you have to stay outside for some time you can train with your quirk, you were on private property after all. Maybe mom would let you go and try for UA! You doubted it, but hey, worth a shot right? She finally yelled something comprehensible, "YOUR STAYING OUT HERE FOR THE WEEKEND!"
She walked
You grabbed a rock glitching it into a ball, you honestly didn't know what the limits of your quirk. You always stayed where you saw fit, worried you might mess something up and get someone hurt with your curse of a quirk. You shook your head and glitches the ball making it fly far from you out into the stratosphere, you weren't sure how far it went. But you knew it went farther then usual. You were getting better!
You then decided to start more combat, that would probably be in the entrance exam. You didn't know what it was as it changed every year, but you knew it would need you to be both agile, and strong. You glitches yourself into atoms, and zoomed forward. Then you put yourself back together- CRAP!
Owowowowow ow! You fell to your knees, you started glitching out. It felt like your body was being torn to shreds and out back together just to be torn once again, this was the downside to your quirk. You looked at your arms, they were splitting off like when a video game character glitches (as seen in the photo above). You let it pass and tried again splitting yourself into atoms and zooming around.
You of course stayed sentient when glitched into something, and when you glitching a living thing into something they stay sentient as well. You put yourself back together with the same glitched out results, but it didn't hurt as bad. That ment with more practice you wouldn't glitch out over this at all!
Turning yourself into atoms was old news, but learning you could move at high speeds was new. You didn't know this till now so you had to learn how to do it. Yawning once it was over (your quirk also takes up a lot of energy when trying something new) you got back up and tried again, you had to do better! The entrance exam was in two months!
With that you tried again, less painful, again, less painful, again, less painful, again, less painful...
It had been fourteen hours since you had began and you collapsed with exhaustion. Over working yourself was nothing new, you had to prove yourself to your mom! Your sister! Yourself! And with a cursed quirk like yours, you had to prove you could be a hero, be a hero...
What were you thinking? Deep down you knew there was no shot, but that didn't matter too you! So you got back up with a shaky breath forcing yourself not to collapse. And you tried again, you had to get it so you don't glitch out at all! You had to try harder! Even harder! You kept going! Again and again!
Two more hours passed, three, four, five. You tried one more time making it six, when you reformed there was no glitching out. You collapsed to the ground, you could barely feel your limbs. You honestly wondered if they really did rip off, because you couldn't feel them at all.
Your muscles ached as if you just lifted 80 pound weights while running a 20 hour marathon. Quirks did work like a type of muscle, so that did make sense. You were face down on the soft grass in your back yard, it was already 9:15am. You started at the rising sun and drifted off to sleep.
That sleep was of course cut short, you were woken up by someone starting to mow at 11:20ish. You stretched as every limb in your body ached, great... You had feeling again. Was that really a good thing? You were questioning it. But still you forced yourself to get up and think of something else to do...
Maybe practice something for a more combat type of thing? You weren't sure what that would be, so you decided to knock down a tree. Your mom wouldn't even notice, she barely goes into the back yard.
You got up despite your muscles screaming for you to just relax! You jumped into the tree and used glitch to yank out the roots, you did this a lot so you didn't glitch out. As it fell you turned into atoms and reformed on the ground.
You glitched out the trees lifetime making the leads die immediately and giving you back stamina. Your muscles stopped aching, thankfully, but you know you would just work them to their breaking point again. You tried glitching the tree into atoms and succeed with no glitching out, then reformed it somewhere else.
You did this for a while before you got an idea, what if you just... You glitched the air around you making it solid, then jumped onto it. To an outside prospective you must've looked like you could walk on air, but really you just made invisible air steps.
With every step one was beneath you, you turned it into atoms... Then reformed it when you were high enough you had to glitch air around you to breath, you turned to atoms soaring down then saw as it crashed tot he ground wood splattering everywhere from impact.
You were definitely ready for the entrance exam.
But you still had to train just a little bit more, didn't you? So many more things to try, so many people you had to pass.. With the time you had, you'd do all you could!
