The Avengers part 6
Fury: Bring the carrier about 1-0-8 heading south. Take us to the water.
Helmsman: We’re flying blind. Navigation’s recalibrating after the engine failure.
Fury: Is the sun coming up?!
Helmsman: Yes, sir.
Fury: Then put it on the left! Get us over water! One more turbine goes down and we drop.
*Steve makes it to the port side of Engine 3. A rage chunk has been blown off.*
Steve: Stark, I'm here!
Tony: Good. Let’s see what we've got.
*Tony flies in his Iron Man armor to look at the damage.*
Tony: I gotta get this super conducting cooling system back online before I can access the rotors and work on dislodging the debris.
*He begins preparing some of the damage done to the engine.*
Tony: I need you to get to that engine control panel and tell me which relays are in overload position.
*Steve jumps across the other side of some broken railing. He then gets to a control panel and opens it, exposing all the servers.*
Tony: What does it look like in there?
Steve: It seems to run on some form of electricity.
Tony: Well, you're not wrong.
*Natasha continuously crawls under the catwalk. She hears a noise and pulls out her gun. Suddenly, Morbius is thrown across to her by the Hulk.*
Hulk: Rrraaaaghhh!
*She shoots a liquid nitrogen pipe above the Hulk and it sprays in his face. This allows her to run away but Morbius recovers and chases after her. But the Hulk catches up and pushes him out of the way. He chases Natasha down a corridor, smashing through the walls as he charges. He manages to slap her against a wall and approaches her. But Thor tackles him and they both crash into the next room. Soon enough, Morbius jumps onto Natasha and tries to bite her jugular. But Luffy also tackles Morbius and they go through the wall Thor and Hulk Made.*
Luffy: Come on, buddy! There’s no need to go all blood hungry on us. Just calm down and we’ll get you some, ok?
*But Morbius scratches his chest.*
Luffy: Ow!
*Thor and Hulk get up just as everyone else in the room runs away. Hulk attempts to punch Thor but misses and Thor punches him instead. This pisses off Hulk and he brings his arm down upon him. He manages to catch it before it hits him.*
Thor: We are not your enemies, Banner! Try to think!
*But Hulk punches Thor and sends him crashing through some crate.*
*Tony clears through the debris and makes it to the turbine which is badly damaged.*
Steve: Okay, the relays are intact. What's our next move?
Tony: Even if I clear the rotors, this thing won't re-engage without a jump. I'm gonna have to get in there and push.
Steve: Well if that thing gets up to speed, you'll get shredded!
Tony: That stator control unit can reverse the polarity long enough to disengage maglev and that could-
Steve: Speak English!
Tony: You see that red lever? It'll slow the rotors down long enough for me to get out. Stand by it, wait for my word.
*Steve jumps across the railing towards the red lever.*
*Morbius leaps towards Luffy.*
Luffy: Gum gum pistol!
*Luffy punches him in the face.*
Luffy: I said calm down!
*Luffy then wraps one of his arms around him.*
Luffy: Alright, now to get you-
*But Morbius flies into the ceiling, making them both bump into it and forcing him to let go.*
Luffy: Why can’t you stay still?!
*Thor crashes through some more crates.*
Hulk: Rrrrraaagghh!
*Thor then holds up his arm, calling Mjolnir to him. The hammer returns to its master and he uses it to uppercut Hulk. He gets furious and throws a jet wing at Thor, but he ducks and throw the hammer. Hulk catches it, causing him to fall down. He tries to lift Mjolnir, but it won’t budge.*
Hulk: Rrrraaaghhh!
*Thor grabs his hammer, jumps on him, using the hammer as a lock to chokehold him. Hulk attempts to shake him off. Meanwhile, Luffy wraps one of his arms around Morbius.*
Luffy: If you want some blood, have some of mine!
*Morbius then bites into Luffy’s arm, sucking blood. Causing Luffy to become momentarily delirious. Thankfully, this causes Morbius to become lucid again.*
Morbius: Luffy? Oh no, did I go feral?
Luffy: Yeah. Don’t think anyone got hurt if that’s what you’re worried about.
Morbius: That’s good. Sorry about trying to kill you.
Luffy: It’s fine. I told ya I’d let you drink my blood if you needed to.
Morbius: Last thing I remember, Dr. Banner was… oh crap. Did he-
Luffy: Turn into that green monster, yeah. But Thor has him covered. Though I don’t know where they are right now.
*In the bridge*
Fury: We need a full evac on the lower hangar bay.
*A grenade slides out into the bridge as Maria Hill was about to leave.*
Hill: Grenade!
*It explodes, making her fall off some railing. Some of Barton’s men enter but Fury is able to take them out. Another one is about to shoot him but Hill shoots him first.*
Sitwell: We’ve got a perimeter breach! Hostiles are in SHIELD gear. Call outs at every junction.
*Coulson heads to the armory and uses his face to pass the facial recognition lock to enter.*
*Thor and Hulk crash from under the floor as they continue fighting.*
*Fury and Hill continue firing at Barton’s men.*
Sitwell: We have the Hulk and Thor on research level 4. Levels 2 and 3 are dark.
Hill: Sir, the Hulk will tear this place apart!
Fury: Get his attention.
Hill: Escort 6-0, proceed to Wishbone and engage hostile. Don't get too close.
Pilot: Copy.
*A jet banks right and approaches the floor where Thor and Hulk are fighting. The pilot opens fire on the Hulk. Thor ducks out of the way while bullets spray the Hulk. But they have no effect on him.*
Hulk: Rrrraaaghhh!
Pilot: TARGET ANGRY! TARGET ANGRY!
*Hulk jumps out the window and lands on the nose of the jet. He then begins tearing it apart. The pilot ejects himself, but the Hulk grabs the seat and throws him. But the parachute still goes off. The jet explodes, making the Hulk plummet down.*
Hulk: Rrraaaaghhh!
*Tony uses a laser to cut a part of the broken propeller. Some of Barton’s men enter the port side where Steve’s at. One of them throws a grenade but Steve is able to shake it away. He then jumps over the railing and incapacitates them. But another one begins shooting. Steve throws a piece of metal but misses and jumps back to the red lever with a gun and starts shooting back.*
*More of Barton’s men are taken out by Fury and Hill.*
Fury: They are not getting through here.
*Clint sits above them and shoots an explosive arrow at one of the control monitors. He then fires another arrow next to Fury who shoots back. Clint manages to escape. The arrow hit a USB outlet hacks into the mainframe, causing another engine to fail. The Helicarrier begins plummeting.*
*Luffy and Morbius feel it tilting.*
Luffy: What’s going on now?!
Morbius: I think we’re falling!
Sitwell: Sir, we've lost all power in Engine 1.
Fury: He took out our systems. He's headed for the detention level. Does anybody copy?
*Natasha answers with her earpiece.*
Natasha: This is Agent Romanoff. I copy.
*She then springs up and tries to find him.*
Fury: Stark, we're losing altitude.
Tony: Yeah. Noticed.
*Tony begins pushing the propeller, using his boosters to go faster. Steve loses his footing in the gun fight and slides off the railing. But luckily, he manages to grab onto a loose cable.*
*Thor makes it to the detention level and sees that Loki is escaping.*
Thor: No!
*Thor charges headfirst towards Loki. But he passes right through him and lands in the cell. The door closes behind him. The real Loki appears outside.*
Loki: Are you ever not going to fall for that?
*Clint walks down a catwalk alone, or so he thinks. Natasha is able to sneak on Clint, who tries to shoot her but she makes him miss. The two proceed to get into a fight on the catwalk. Natasha manages to disarm Clint of his bow, making him draw out a knife.*
*Thor hits the glass on the cell with Mjolnir, causing it to shake.*
Loki: The humans think us immortal. Should we test that?
*Loki moves forward to the control console. But Coulson appears and manages to knock out the guard that freed Loki. He then points a large gun at the asgardian.*
Coulson: Move away, please.
*Loki moves away from the console.*
Coulson: You like this? We started working on the prototype after you sent The Destroyer. Even I don't know what it does. Do you wanna find out?
*Suddenly, Coulson is stabbed in the back, as the real Loki appears behind him with his scepter in hand.*
Thor: Nooo!
*Coulson slides down against the wall. Loki makes his way to the console and opens the doors below. He then releases the cell, making it drop out of the ship and plummet down.*
*Clint tries to slash Natasha with his knife, but she twists his arm. He then tosses the knife to his other hand and tries slashing her again. She dodges every attempt but soon finds herself in a hold. Natasha bite’s Clint’s arm, making him let go of the knife. She then wraps her legs around his neck, flips him over and causes him to hit his head on some railing.*
Clint: Natasha…
*She then punched him in the face, knocking him out.*
*As the cell falls through the air, approaching the ground more and more, Thor bounces around inside. He attempts to break the glass but misses. In one final attempt, he positions himself and jumps to smash the glass and succeeds, escaping the cell just before it hits the ground. Thor crashes onto a meadow by the shore.*
Coulson: You're gonna lose.
Loki: Am I?
Coulson: It's in your nature.
Loki: Your heroes are scattered, your floating fortress falls from the sky...where is my disadvantage?
Coulson: I don't think I’m-
*Coulson then shoots Loki with the gun, causing an explosion that sends him crashing through a wall.*
Coulson: So that's what it does.
*Back on the bridge, Luffy and Morbius appear and take out the last of Barton’s men still there.*
Morbius: What’s the situation?
Hill: The Helicarrier’s plummeting down and we’ll all die unless Stark can fix it!
*Fury looks at the view monitor of the detention level and sees that Loki is gone.*
Luffy: What’s wrong?
Fury: Coulson.
*Tony continues pushing the propellers, giving it all he’s got. This manages to level the Helicarrier.*
Tony: Cap, hit the lever!
Steve: I need a minute here!
Tony: Lever. Now!
*Just as Steve makes it back to the railing, Tony lets go of the propeller, making them spin by themselves. But he soon gets caught in them.*
Tony: Help!
*Steve manages to pull the lever at the same time Tony slips through the propellers before being shredded. He then flies back inside the Helicarrier and tackles the shooter attacking Steve.*
*Fury, Luffy and Morbius make it to the detention level.*
Morbius: Damn it! The bastard got away!
Luffy: Oh no!
*They see Coulson critically injured and slumped against the wall.
Coulson: Sorry, boss. They got rabbeted.
Fury: Just stay awake. EYES ON ME!
Coulson: No. I'm clocked out here.
Fury: Not an option.
Coulson: It's okay, boss. This was never going to work... if they didn't have something... to…
*Coulson draws his last breath, dying in front of them.*
Luffy: Is he…
*Morbius checks his pulse.*
Morbius: I’m sorry, Fury. But he’s gone.
*When a medical team arrives, Fury makes an call on his earpiece.*
Fury: Agent Coulson is down.
SHIELD Agent: A medical team is on its way your location.
Fury: They're here. Dr. Morbius checked.
*Tony, Steve and Natasha hear the news.*
*Tony, Steve, Luffy and Morbius are gathered by Fury in the briefing room. All of them devastated by the death of Coulson.*
Fury: These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign them.
*He throws down his Captain America trading cards onto the table, stained with blood. Steve picks one of them up.*
Morbius: So… what’s the situation?
Fury: We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, location of the cube, Banner, Thor… I got nothing for you. Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming. Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea, in heroes.
*Tony walks off.*
Fury: Well, it's an old fashioned notion.
*Thor walks far out into the meadow, looking down upon Mjolnir.*
