Saved Before Reset

(Y/N) arrived somewhat late to the trial, and seeing Loki made her freeze for a bit. "...and (L/N = Last Name), Variant R6266 aka (Y/N) (L/N), are charged with sequence violation 7-20-89," The judge reported as she was slightly pushed to her podium by another soldier. Finally making it there, they both glanced at each other for a second, "This definitely isn't my Loki. The question is, which Loki is this?" She thought to herself. She looked up from her paper, "How do you plead?" Loki chuckled to himself, "Madam, a god doesn't plead." She nodded to herself with a quiet sigh, "2012 Loki." She then looked to (Y/N)'s slight blank expression, "You?" "I have a feeling that my words don't really matter in this situation, so I'll just say Guilty." Loki started to speak again, sounding annoyed, "This has been a very enjoyable pantomime, but I'd like to go home now." "Are you guilty or not guilty, sir?" This triggered one of his non humble small rants, scoffing "Guilty of being the God of Mischief? Yes. Guilty of finding all this incredibly tedious? Yes. Guilty of a crime against the Sacred Timeline? Absolutely not, you have the wrong person."

The judge was playing along with a bit of sass, "Oh really? And who should we have?" "Perhaps the person to my right.." "I will dislocate your jaw if you say some stupid shit like that." Her eyes didn't even look at him while saying that, just because she loved him doesn't mean that she won't talk back to him. He changed the topic off of her, "But I mostly suspect the Avengers." Why them? In a split second, she answered her own question remembering that Bruce was sent back before things got really nasty. Loki went on, "You see, I only came into possession of the Tesseract because they traveled through time. No doubt in a last ditch effort to stave off my ascent to God King." Now this was classic Loki, forgot how annoying he was like this. "That is quite an accusation," The judge still played with this. "Oh believe me, you can smell the cologne of two Tony Starks." That made (Y/N) chuckle a bit to herself. Loki went on, "You speak of Time Criminals? It's they you should be after. Perhaps you could provide me with a taskforce and resources, and I could return and eliminate them for you." "We're not here to talk about the Avengers." "Oh no?" "No, what they did was suppose to happen. You escaping," She then looked over at (Y/N). "And you making so many different timelines for us to erase were not," She finished.

They were all left in silence, then hearing Loki laugh at this. "Right...'not suppose to happen'? According to whom?" "The Time Keepers?" He knew what he was doing, "Oh, the Time Keepers. Right. Well, perhaps I should speak to these Time Keepers, gods to gods." "I'm sorry, but they're quite busy." The sarcasm was really heating up between these two. "Oh they are? What are they doing?" "Dictating the proper flow of time," She shrugged like it was obvious. Might as well put some other thoughts on the table while they were talking about it, so (Y/N) just simply questioned them as well. She said, "Actually, since we are talking about these Time Keepers, I might as well ask now. What makes their thoughts and decisions the 'proper flow of time'?" Loki nodded to that question, jumping right back on her before answering that question, "And then what do you do?" "Dictate the proper flow of time according to their dictations. How do you plead?" She could feel Loki's smirk slowly growing, not even having to look at him to know what he was going to do. Before even he did anything, she covered her eyes in 2nd hand embarrassment, "For fuck sake..." "Guilty," He said. His arms slowly raised as he continued his sentence, "of this."

Clenching his hands into a fist, nothing happened. It's even worse then anyone would think! Some people around them tried not to laugh, knowing what he was trying to do, and others were confused on what was even happening. That did include the judge herself, "What's going on?" "He's trying to use his powers, ma'am." He tried a few more times before banging his hands on the side of the podium they were standing in, "Damn it! Why won't it work?!" "Magic powers?" The judge raised her eyebrow. "They're no good in the TVA, Mr. Laufeyson. The court finds you both guilty, and I sentence you to be reset. Next case, please!" What? Reset? (Y/N)'s thoughts were running as she heard that, starting to get dragged away with Loki by other soldiers. Loki voice started to raise every moment he wasn't getting answers, "Hey! You ridiculous bureaucrats will not dictate how my story ends!" "It's not your story, Mr. Laufeyson. It never was." "You have no idea what I'm capable of!!"

"I...I think I might. Have an idea of what he's capable of, both of them anyway," A man stood up. He was dressed in a brown suit, nothing special enough to note even further. He walked up to bench to have a quiet conversation with the judge, it wasn't that long until the guy looked over at them.

"I'm gonna burn this place to the ground." "I'll show you where my desk is, you can start there." The three of them were now walking down a hallway, surprisingly calm with Loki still not truly understanding where he was. As they were all walking, (Y/N) caught a glimpse of what the outside actually looked like. "Hey," She called out to them. "Where is this place again?" They both looked out as well, Loki walking up beside her in as much awe as she was. "Home sweet home," The man said. "I thought you said there was no magic here." "It must be more science and technology at this point," (Y/N) said to Loki's statement. He backed away slightly, "That's not real." "It is, and unfortunately, so is all the paperwork. Good tinder for your fire though, come on." The two followed him on, having more questions then ever. Loki shook his head, "This place is a nightmare." "This isn't close to a nightmare...we should know," she spoke that last part quietly to herself.
