Bad Memory Lane
The elevator ride was mostly silent, no one wanting to speak, or didn't trust anyone else to say a thing. You can easily guess which was which, but soon the silent was broken. "I'm Agent Mobius, by the way," He held out his hand and Loki simply looked at it, then up at him. (Y/N) sighed and grabbed it, "It is nice to finally know your name, Mobius. You are nicer then most other workers I've seen. I love the suit, by the way." "Thank you. You are much more calm then other variants I've dealt with in your category," He smiled back at her, shaking hands. She chuckled, "Thank you as well, it covers my urge to off myself because of repeated traumatic events happening to me without a break in the span of multiple years." His eyes showed pity and concern, but he simply nodded and looked straight ahead as well as (Y/N).
A minute or so passed once again, "Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?" Loki asked. Mobius answered, "No, that's where you just were. I'm taking you both some place to talk." "I don't like to talk." (Y/N) was saying all kinds of shit in her head, knowing that he was lying his ass off with that statement. Even Mobius called him out on it, "But you do like to lie, which you just did. Because we all know you love to talk." "How long have you been here?" He sighed, "I don't know. It's hard to say time passes differently here in the TVA." The doors opened and they were off walking down a hall filled with busy workers. On the way, Loki was asking more questions about the TVA to simply make fun of what they believe in and laugh at it. Mobius didn't take it to heart, but Loki did have a point in that, simply worded it wrong in her opinion.
Turning left and walking down some stairs, they walked into a large room with a table and three chairs in the center, as well some large device on the table. "Is the theme vintage DMV in the TVA? You people should do love your orange and browns..." (Y/N) sighed as she went to sit down. Loki added to it, "For the record, this really does feel like a killing-me kind of room." "Not big on trust, are you?" Mobius was setting up the device. "Trust is for children and dogs," He walked down the steps to the table. "There's only one person you can trust." At this point, there was no need to keep remembering that this wasn't her Loki, because he was reminding her without even trying. She still respected him, but had to put the boundaries back up for herself. Loki asked sinisterly, "If the TVA truly oversees all of time, how have I never heard of you until now?" "Cause you never needed to. You've always lived within your set path." Something popper up in (Y/N)'s head when he answered him, "Like the Matrix?" Mobius thought about it, nodding his head a bit, "Sort of, but more grounded...and good."
During this time, Loki tried to attack, but was taken back to the place he was standing before. In Mobius' hand was a small device he used to take Loki back, "I told you, time moves differently in the TVA. Come on, sit down." So that's what the collar does. Keeping his eyes on Mobius, he slowly walked to his seat with caution and sat down in front of him with she sat more beside Mobius. He then started to smile at Loki, "If looks could kill...you would know, right (Y/N)?" "Don't," She couldn't help but smirk a bit at that. "What do you want from me?" Loki cut right to the chase. Mobius sighed, "Well, let's start with a little cooperation." "Not my forte" "Really? Even when you're wooing someone powerful you intend to betray? Come on." Loki fired back, "You don't know anything about me." "Maybe I'd like to learn," He answered, opening his soda. "I mean, she knows you like the back of her hand already," He pointed to (Y/N). They both went to look at each other, well more of Loki sending glares and questioning looks at her while she looked surprised Mobius brought it up early. She chuckled nervously, "Can we...explain that part later?"
"I specialize in the pursuit of dangerous Variants," He changed the topic. "Like myself?" "No, particularly dangerous Variants. More like (Y/N), while you're just a little pussycat" She was confused hearing that, but then remembered some of the....eventful times she had with Eris when she was still around. She answered her own question there. Mobius moved on, "I got a set of questions here for you two. Answer them honestly, and maybe I can give you something you want. You wanna get out of here right?" He titled his head in interest. "Yeah, so we'll start there. Should you return, what are you gonna do?" Loki sighed a bit as he finally cooperated, "Finish what I started. Claim my throne." Mobius looked at (Y/N) for her answer. She glanced over to Loki for a quick, uncomfortably shifting in her chair a bit, "Protect my loved ones in any way that I can. No matter the cost." Mobius nodded to her, not in a 'just listening not understanding' way, he really did like her answer along with already knowing everything she's been through and has done. He turned back to Loki, "You want to be King?" "I don't want to be, I was born to be." "I know, but King of what exactly?"
That seemed to stump him a bit, going for the classic arrogant answer, "You wouldn't understand." "Try me." "...Midgard." Mobius kept the balling rolling with chain of questions, now focusing more on Loki, "Now you're the King of Midgard, then what? Happily ever after?" "Asgard. The Nine Realms," Loki grinned to himself. "Space?" "...Space?" "Space is big," Mobius pointed out. "That'd be a nice feather in your cap. 'Loki, King of Space'" (Y/N) nodded her head a bit, "He's got a point." Loki looked over at her with a look of confusion. "I mean," She started to explain. "How many people wanted to take over the nine realms and started with Earth? If you're starting like a basic bitch, might as well take the whole damn universe." "Mock me if you dare," He growled. Mobius chuckled, "No, we're not. Honestly, I'm actually a fan of you both. Yeah. And I guess I'm wondering why someone with so much range just wanna rule?" Looking at Loki in the eyes, (Y/N) could see he was looking for an answer to that. This was a side she didn't see that often, it was like something out of a TV show seeing him not have a sassy remark ready in a flash.
He finally came back after a minute of silence, "I would've made it easier for them." "People like easy.." He then started to rant, sounded a bit familiar to (Y/N), "The first and more oppressive lie ever uttered was the song of freedom. For nearly every living thing, choice breeds shame, and uncertainty, and regret. There's a fork in every road, yet the wrong path is always taken." Mobius went to write some stuff down, listening to this, "Yeah, you said 'nearly every living thing'. I'm guessing you don't fall into that category?" Loki brushed it off with a chuckle, "The Time Keepers have built quite the circus, and I see the clowns are playing their parts to perfection." Mobius nudged (Y/N) while laughing as well, "Big metaphor guy. I love it. No wonder you fell in love with this guy, (Y/N)." "What?" He raised his eyebrow to (Y/N), and she cleared her throat while feeling his eyes on her. "Can we please change the subject now?"
