He can hear a human heartbeat but it's different than Spider-Man's heartbeat in. Weird sameness but difference kind of way.. Spider-Man has always had a hummingbird fast heartbeat as long as Daredevil had known him but even when slowed down it still has a distinguishing rhythm that marks him as Spider-Man...
Daredevil follows the sound...
Spider-Man lays prone on a couch, it's apparently the only furniture to lay on, Daredevil's senses tell him the apartment is pretty barren and he knows Wade is the only reason the couch exists.. Does Spider-Man not have enough money for a bed?
That is sad...
Spider-Man is clearly alive and has been coming and going through the window facing the alley.. from what Daredevil's senses tell him, Spider-Man may have recently received a concussion and is now currently asleep which is like the biggest no-no of Concussion Rules one-on-one....
But being without the ability to see means Daredevil doesn't know if Spider-Man is laying there on the couch without his mask on or not .. as far as Daredevil can tell there's no other injuries besides the recent head trauma and his senses tell him that it's healing pretty quickly... An enhanced metabolism must mean a fast healing factor and vice-versa...
He knew nothing about Spidey outside the mask and yes they had ran into each other quite a few times in the field.. he has always liked the guy.. their values align... Spidey is clearly intelligent and is witty and funny and an all around good person from what Daredevil does know of him when he's out in costume... But nothing of the guy behind the mask..
He does guess that Spidey must be young as there's something about his heartbeat that's just younger and more full of vitality than any of the older vigilantes in the building... Barring Steven, whose heartbeat sounds youthful and innocent but the heartbeats of his alter personalities have the weight of age and dark things that they've both bore witness to.. Steven is happy, innocent, young in a puppyish way, Marc is gritty, tired, old, just wants to rest like an old housecat that just wants to spend the rest of however long he has left laying in the warm sunny patch on the carpet, Jake is a maniac that would incinerate the entire world if the right string of inconveniences ever pissed him off enough, a rabid dog always trying to escape his chain.. Spider-Man's heartbeat is a lot like Steven's .. youthful.. innocent in a way.. but also there's a slight heaviness to it like he feels tarnished and weighed down by something dark..
Unconscious as he is now, Spider-Man's heartbeat is just bearing too much weight.. the guy probably feels like he has to carry the world on his shoulders all alone.. Spider-Man probably thinks he can't ask for help or let people in..
Matt Murdock gets it.. it's why he never takes his mask off unless in the privacy of his own apartment but after that first few weeks if being a recluse Frank had forced him out and made him figure out a way to live amongst his peers and socialize and now.. dare he say it.. He has friends .. Spider-Man has friends out there in the hero world and in here in the building too... They've all been a miss by not showing Spider-Man how he can cohabitate in a building with fellow heroes and vigilantes and socialize and let people in without having to reveal his face...
Daredevil is going to force Spider-Man out..
It's time the heroes in this building showed the webhead what having them all for neighbors was going to really be like..
