Chapter 4
..
..
It's been two weeks since Spider-Man officially moved into the building...
Two weeks...
Two whole weeks...
And none of the others have really seen hide not hair of the guy, including Wade.
Clint had of course given Spidey an apartment with an alley facing window that was at least four stories up for this exact reason figuring that Spider-Man would probably never use the front door past that first day.
But they never really heat anything from Spidey's apartment either.
And that's a little concerning.
How does he get more groceries?
They've all figured that Spider-Man has to have an enhanced metabolism so he's bound to have eaten his way through everything Wade made sure his kitchen was packed to the brim with by now even with a slightly enhanced metabolism but they know Spidey has to have more than just a slightly enhanced metabolism so that food shouldn't have lasted past day five let alone past the two week mark.
Spider-Man did remember he did live there now, right?
They're all a little worried...
After all they never see Spider-Man enter or leave. He could have moved in that first day gone out that night and...
Just never came back...
He could be hurt in an alley somewhere, he could be dead in an alley somewhere...
And how would they know?
The thing is, Spidey has to have a life outside of being a hero, a life outside of the costume but no one has come out or gone in even in the daytime... No friends or relatives or visitors of any type have dropped by, no deliveries of food or anything else have been made.
It's like no one is ever there.
They're all chomping at the bit just to know if he's alive and unharmed in there or if he's even in there at all...
Frank decides to pick the lock, he is after all the resident medic most of the time and if Spider-Man is in there needing stitches the Frank is the guy for the job.
Never mind that Wade and Daredevil just also happened to be there too...
Frank remembers when Daredevil moved into the building and first tried to pull this exact same crap of trying to get away with basically being a ghost until Wade had fretted over not knowing if Daredevil was okay or even alive and Frank hadn't been worried at all about the guy but had still decided to check anyway only to find Daredevil wounded and not knowing how long he had been that way. Frank had thought it must have happened a few nights back and Daredevil had came in and passed out and nobody had been the wiser. No it had actually only happened the previous night and Daredevil had only been sporting that injury for a few hours at most. But the man had been unconscious at the time so how had Frank been supposed to know, that?
Now they have to have a system that someone else from their line of work that lives in the building has to lay eyes on them at least once a day, more than twenty-four hours go by and Frank, Wade, Clint, Kate, Yelena, Bucky, Eddie, Venom or Scott hasn't seen Darevil's ugly masked mug, his apartment is getting broke into just to make sure the man's alive, the same thing goes for any of them really since any of them could come home wounded and dying and all of them are too damn stubborn to ask for help or let anyone know they're hurt.. For Daredevil the inky one allowed to break into Daredevil's place is Frank since it's confirmed that Frank has known Daredevil's identity outside the suit since before either of them moved into the building...
For Spider-Man... It's a bit more complicated... No one knows Spider-Man's identity outside the suit...
So who can go check on the webhead that won't be risking accidentally finding out what the guy looks like under the mask..
Frank strongly suggests Daredevil be the one to do it...
After some pretty strong and convincing arguments from Frank and Daredevil, Clint is somehow bamboozled into agreeing that Daredevil be allowed to break in and check in Spidey.. just this once.. but he has to keep his eyes closed!...
Frank almost dies laughing at that for some weird reason and Daredevil scowls darkly at him like it's some kind of giveaway to who Daredevil is under the mask.
