Summary
.......A long running joke that stops being a joke when Clint has offered most (all) of his street Vigilante pals an apartment in his building, free of charge because being a hero doesn't come with a paycheck and hardly any of his street Vigilante pals have a day job and he can't, won't, just let his friends be without a place they can actually afford to live in.

Chapter 2

..

..

Clint Barton will let pretty much any of his fellow crime fighting Vigilantes live in his apartment building free of charge, he doesn't actually need money, his days as an Agent of Shield had him pretty set for life especially since he had made several smart investments.

Basically Clint was loaded.

Almost as well off as Tony Stark.

He just didn't go around showing off his wealth.

So any of the people that were Vigilantes were pretty much guaranteed a free place to stay under pretty much any roof Clint owned.

And he owned a lot.

But in New York, City, there were so many Vigilantes that Clint ended up housing most of them in just one apartment building..

So there were of course rules.

Basically if a tenant had beef with any of the other tenants, read: Frank Castle and Daredevil, mostly, that beef got stowed away and locked up when on or in the property grounds, yes, the surrounding empty lots counted. Clint owned those too, the empty lots were for growing a fruit and vegetable garden and for letting all the pets in the building have an area to run around in and well, poop and pee, and then there was a playground for all the kids that lived in the building. So basically.. if one tenant had beef with another tenant that beef was irrelevant and nonexistent inside and on the property grounds... Frank and Daredevil might hate each other or have a weirdly tense mutual admiration where they didn't quite hate each other each other but could never see eye to eye so whenever they ran into each other while doing their vigilante things it always came to them fighting but NOT when they were in the building or on the grounds around the building. They were weirdly good at being neighbors with Frank even having a key to Daredevil's apartment and vice-versa because one time Frank was going to be out of the State and had needed someone to feed, water and walk his dog and Daredevil had ended up volunteering. Yeah they still fight on the streets when they run into each other and Frank might kill someone and Daredevil stops him and it ends up with them pummeling each other, but at home Frank and Daredevil will patch each other back up... it's weird..

Anyway...

Rules...

Rule One: No matter what is going on outside the property grounds with other tenants it stays outside the property grounds. No fighting among tenants.

So far all the tenants respect it and are good neighbors when on the premises even if just an hour earlier they were kicking the shit out of one another or might be kicking the shit out of one another within an hours time of having left the grounds.

Rule Two: Respect Secret Identities. Both The Hawkeyes, Deadpool and The Punisher... well pretty much everyone knows who they are, but Daredevil has a secret identity and he likes it to stay that way, Clint can't help it that Frank already knew Daredevik's identity before either of them became tenants, but no one else in the building knows who Daredevil is out of the suit, not even Clint and Frank has proven several times that no matter how much of a pain in the ass Frank thinks Daredevil is, Frank won't out his identity inside or outside the grounds. So it's a rule, Respect Secret Identities. No outing Each other's Identities if you know someone's secret identity, keep it to yourself.

Rule Three: Try not to bring villains to the building or let villains know where a build full of Vigilantes is. But sometimes it can't be avoided and sometimes Clint has to fix a hole in the side of the building that a group of Vigilantes fighting one villain caused. Hence the words "Try not to."

Rule Four: If a villain does or villains do show up, it doesn't matter whose villan(s) they are, protecting the building, the grounds and the tenants is everyone's responsibility so it's everyone's fight. He's had normal tenants who just live there going about their lives, throwing whatever they could get their hands on, out of windows to try to help fight off one of Daredevil's villains before when said villain showed up trying to cause trouble.

Rule Five: If someone comes in injured, if someone has the ability to help patch them up then they also therein have the responsibility to help patch them up, Frank Castle ends up patching up a lot of the resident Vigilantes because he has the most experience doing stitches and the man never sleeps and will actually check in with the people most likely to come in wounded.. Read: knocking on a door in the middle of the night to make sure someone didn't try to sneak in through their own window with a bullethole in their left ass cheek specifically to try to avoid having to let Frank perform a bullet extraction and subsequent stitches, because the bullet was in their ass cheek, and because they were embarrassed, not saying any names, *cough* Daredevil *cough*...

The resident Vigilantes all take it upon themselves to help Clint out by also trying to tell Spider-Man that they have a place for him to live rent and bill free, if he needs one... because damn, man, rent and bills is expensive and who can afford to be a hero and pay rent and bills?

Deadpool is first, sometimes he and Spidey actually work together and they actually get along really great, though Spidey really doesn't like the fact that Deadpool kills, Spidey us a lot like Daredevil in that aspect, while Wade and Frank very much love to put bulletholes in the heads of bad guys. But where Frank and Daredevil constantly fight, with Daredevil constantly thwarting Frank's attempts to put bulletholes in the heads of bad guys and it becoming a brawl between Daredevil and The Punisher, Deadpool and Spidey have a different sort of relationship. Spidey doesn't like Deadpool killing people and he doesn't want Deadpool killing people if Deadpool is with him but he knows that Deadpool kills people and that he can't make Deadpool stop killing people so Spidey just simply asks that Deadpool not kill if they're working together and Deadpool while he might hate letting a pedophile get carted away in cuffs instead of a body bag will respect Spidey's request because he knows he can just track the pedophile down later even if the sicko is in prison, and kill the sicko later while Spidey isn't around to try to be Jimminy Cricket. .. Wade is pretty sure that Frank and Spidey have the same sort of deal going on because as far as Wade knows Frank and Spidey have interacted but it never becomes a fight between the two and Wade guesses it's because Frank will try to avoid killing if he's around the webhead... Wade thinks it's funny as hell that Frank might curb his killing for Spidey but not Daredevil...

So Wade and Spider-Man have worked together before and sometimes after they hang out on a rooftop eating cheap and greasy take-out...

Spidey is sitting at the edge of the roof kicking a leg back and forth and Wade is next to him happily munching on a chimichanga when Wade springs the information on Spidey.

Spidey seemed to tense at the offer implied in the information and looked like he was about to bolt and Wade had to talk him down from the ledge, literally... though, Spidey would have caught himself on a web and swung to safety.. right?.. right?.. Wade tries not to think of Spidey letting himself go splat just to avoid giving an awkward answer to an awkward offer...

After Spidey is calm and not going to jump from a sixteen story building, Wade lays out the same things Clint has offered everyone else and who all lives in Clint's building and tells Spidey that Clint wants to make Spidey the offer himself but Spidey avoids him...

Spidey seems to think it over a bit... "I don't know..." he tells Wade "I'll think about it..."

"That's not a no..." Wade says cheerily.

"It's nit a yes, either..." Spidey replies then he does jump and yes, he does catch himself on a web, much to Wade's relief, he watches Spidey swing away and texts Clint that he talked to Spidey and that Spidey would think about Clint's offer.
