Summary
You climbed up on the ledge and sat down with your legs dangling over the edge. All you would do is give yourself a slight push and it would all be over. Would it hurt? While death is what you craved in this moment, a part of you was scared. Where would you go after? “What are you doing? Get down from there,” a voice called from behind you. For some strange reason, all your mind can think of was getting down from the edge no matter how much a part of you still wanted to jump. or;on the verge of commiting suicide, you are stopped by a man in a purple suit who welcomes you into a life you could have never had. (This takes place before season 1 and before Kilgrave met Jessica)
Note
Ok, so...first things first, Kilgrave in his canon is an awful, disgusting rapist and just because he suffered child abuse doesn't absolve him of his wrongdoings, however this is not canon and David looks good in purple.I tried to stay as close to his personality as I could, but it is probably going to be slightly out of character because it is almost imporssible to make a rapist a good person. I took the perspective that Kilgrave never understood consent or the concept behind it because he has never had people care for him or interact with him on their complete free will as well as for the first seven years of his lift, never gave consent to anything himself. Also, I imagine that because of all the expereiments and abuse he suffered, controling others was his only way to feel safe because he knew that they wouldn't be able to hurt him as well as the only way people would care for him and he would be able to survive. The next chapter will touch more on the abandoment issues I believe he has due to his parents leaving. That being said, this is not an excuse for his actions or a redemption story.
