As sure as I live
"You may think that I'm talkin' foolish, you've heard I'm wild and free..."
There's so many dimensions where one choice can change a man's life forever. Hell, a god even has his days where things shift out of his control. He had to hide, tried to blend into the Montana forestry to escape his brother and his friends after an event gone wrong. He even made fake friends, his silver tongue making magic roll from it like a southern summer breeze brushing against golden waves of grain. He could be a She as well, and she made her way around just as much as he did. But one faithful Hoedown in a small town called Troy, in a bar called the Home Bar, he met the man who made one country song burn his point of life down to the ground in a matter of 3 minutes and 33 seconds. It was a a slowly cooling July night, country music playing loudly in Loki's ear as he grinds his molars in an attempt to block out the horrid noises of cowboy boots meeting cracking and squeaking old oak floors from his mind. One of the people he 'Befriended' has taken off to chase some California tail cross the bar to the outside patio, leaving him to himself as he swished the Tennessee Honey Whiskey in the half melted ice filled glass. A woman, no... A man walks into the bar and sees a spot next to the mysterious man and makes his way there. Loki wasn't in clothing he preferred, of course. Asgardian gold would be too obvious for someone in hiding, yes? He wears black jeans and a tattered one size too small grey tee shirt with a faded country band concert dated on the front and back. He wears military boots as well, caked in dried mud and muck from the jobs he does to survive. He audibly sighs as the Midgardian takes the seat next to him, smiling nervously as he taps his shoulder. He glanced over, and he took immediate interest- A woman with patchy facial hair? No... He smiles a little, understanding immediately as he decides to give it a shot. The man asked for what Loki had in his glass, and both speak about how Tennessee honey whiskey is the only whiskey they'd both drink. The songs began to shift and change, and soon both boys laugh loudly like the rest of the crowd and they melt away at the home town bar feeling the bar gave. He couldn't ever feel safe here, always on edge, yet this trans cowboy has him tapping his foot to the music as he tells stories of his family property to the Norse god. The man's dark Auburn hair sits just at his shoulders, a bit messy with split ends and obviously the man tries to cut it himself. His shirt was a green thick fleece plaid button up, and it's a size too big for his average sized build. His freckles dust his cheeks and the bridge of his round soft nose, his lips plump yet chapped from anxious nibbling. The blue jeans He wore fan out a bit at the bottom, surrounding his dark brown pointed boots. Said boots have seen better days, well loved scuffs and cracks all along it hidden away by the fancy stitching design that swirled around the sides of the boots. Best part? Loki notices the Norse compass tattoo on the back of his neck too. His voice has that southern tang to it, obviously not originally from Montana himself. Claims he's from Louisiana actually, and that he came out here for a second chance just 2 years prior. He says his name is Jackson Clearwater as the night continues, but he never asked for the mystery man's name. Of course, Loki hasn't told him who he is yet, but as he drinks more and more... He feels those pink glasses slip over his emerald eyes, and soon tipsy became drunk as they drag each other out and dance to music like the world was gonna end. And that song played, oh that damn song that now breaks him to pieces...
"You may wonder how, I can promise you now, this love that I feel for you always will be~"
Jackson sang along with a big smile, his own love in the night crush forming on the tall stranger before him. Loki follows with dancing but it's obvious he's never danced to country, so Jackson takes his hand in his and shows him while he sings like a southern savvy dipped in peach tea. He slowly fell into the stepping, his grassy eyes never leaving Jackson's Big Sky blues as he picks up on the words to the song. He sang along to the chorus as they sway and bounce along to it all together like the bar was empty. The stars shined above the bar, the moon giving a soft glow as they took the dancing outside to the stars while the bar begins to clear out. The bartender sees them, and smirks as he asks the DJ to just play this song on repeat till Loki would figure out how to dance to it as a joke. Yet, it worked wonders as he picked up on the words and sang along with his own soft accented voice playing with the grasshoppers and stars. Both men take each other's breath away, and soon within an hour they couldn't blame the alcohol as it's effects began to fade.
"An' your not just time that I'm givin', I'm no longer one of those guys..."
Finally Loki finds his feet, his grace finally giving up to the southern movements as he falls into the world he was happy he didn't break. For once he didn't hate the place he hid away in, and decides that he can stay if Jackson sticks around for as long as he can. He's mortal, sure, but the wild child in his voice and eyes makes him feel eternally etched in the Magpies mind. As the night becomes long and cold with the moon high in the sky, the boys sober up and leave the bar with tired laughter in their hearts. Jackson wasn't ever fully accepted by the community for what and who he was, And Loki never met a man who had such a similar story to his. Sure, Jackie didn't try to rule the universe and kill his family, but their fathers played favorites. Jackson lived away from everyone else in an out of mind out of sight way till he turned 21, where he ran away to the bar to dance in a place where people were too drunk to care about his chest. Loki found him by chance, and now he hops into the seat of an old Harley Davidson with a carefree sigh. He follows Jackson home to ensure he makes it home safely, whistling that damn ear worm of a song not knowing that the rancher In the Chevy in front of him did the same thing.
"As sure as I'll live, this love that I'll give, is gonna be yours until the day that I Die!"
Loki parks next to the truck as Jackson gets out, leaning on each other as they clumsily make their way to the front porch. The motion trigger light kicks on, and the cowboy unlocks the door to try and get inside. He opens it a little bit, but paused turn around as Loki stands there with an emotion on his face he can't control. Hope maybe? Or some kind of sign that this won't be the last time he sees the man who made his get away feel more at home. Jackson leaves the door cracked open as he steps towards Loki as if hoping for a name after what happened, and it slips in a desperate attempted to hear it from the other. "L-Loki... It's Loki, please dont-" Jackson laughs, and his laughter makes his anxiety sky rocket till the other reaches his hand out and shakes his head with a happy smile. "Sweetheart, I knew you were familiar the second I saw your face. I was nervous, yeah, but I knew that if you hadn't blown this town sky high yet that you weren't here to cause problems- I ain't stupid, and no I don't fear ya. Ya can't scare me away that easily, not after what happened tonight. Come by my place when ever you wanna dance ok? This place is yours just as much as it is mine. You're safe now, yeah?" Jackson tries to sooth Loki's anxiety, and the sigh of relief that was earned said it worked. The auburn haired boy reaches out and paused, hesitating to rub his callused fingers against that soft looking cheek that belonged to god of Mischiefs tear soaked face. Loki leans in and plants his tired face Into the small hand that offered warmth to his silent tears, their faces mere inches away as they sit there silently in each others safe company. "Loki, I... This is wrong right? Love ain't easy and it can't happen to someone this fast right? Can we even call it this, I mean-" Loki chuckles and leans in with that mischievous smile of his, making Jackson lean in with him as their noses brush against each other. "You're mortal, you fool... Just take it while we have it, forget about taking it slow. I may not be in this town forever you know, especially if I'm found... So let's work through it while we feel it yes? I've never done anything like this, I mean yeah one night stands but this? What we have? I dont care if this love is short lived, I need it. What do you say?" Jackson knows that Loki is a god of lies, mischief, misdirection and silver words but he can't help but listen to every word with a few small nods of consideration. He's always taken it slow, so why not live it fast for once? His other can catches up to Loki's face to hold his other tear stained cheek, and he looks the other in the eyes as he smiles and sings the words that will haunt the god for the rest of his days.
"Oh Loki, I'm gonna love you forever... Forever and ever amen~ As long as old men sit and talk about the weather.. as long as old women sit and talk about old men~"
Loki melts as he sang along, their lips only centimeters away as they hum it together. Loki's hands leave his side so he can wrap them over Jackson's shoulders with ease. It feels natural as they sway there together in the moment, the bar far away as the quiet sounds of a creek near by becomes the only other noise.
"If you wonder how long I'll be faithful, I'll be happy to tell you again~ I'm gonna love you, forever and ever..."
Their lips brush against each other and as if a force out of their control makes the move for them as they press chest to chest and close the gap between them. Jackson's chapped yet still youthful lips lock into Loki's soft well taken care of own like a perfect puzzle piece as they're eyes close in the moment with a perfect sigh from both sides. As they kiss, Jackson's cheesy self hums the last bit of the chorus into Loki's smiling lips as they begin to dance all over again with lips never leaving each other. Like love sick teens they make their way into the house, Loki's heel gently hitting the door to close it behind them as laughter begins to echo from the other side.
"Forever and ever, amen~"
