The Day Of A Very Avengers Christmas.
Synopsis : The Avengers spending their first Christmas together in a long time. (Avengers centric)
Kate Bishop had resolved that she will convince Clint to take her to the Avengers Tower. She had begged him before but this time it's Christmas and she resolved that she will convince Clint this time.
Clint wasn't very up but ultimately Laura made him take her.
Tony Stark had thrown a Christmas eve party as everybody wanted to spend Christmas with their families. The Avengers were already preparing for the party since noon. Steve, Sam and Wanda were decorating the tree. It was huge like huuuge. Natasha, Yelena and Pepper were baking.
Kate came in with Clint and was in instant awe at the sheer magnanimity of the Avengers Tower.
Kate : woww that's big tree.
Clint : Ya Tony went full out.
In the kitchen, Natasha and Yelena were at the table
Natasha : Yel, you wanna put the marshmallows in concentric circles.
Yelena : No Natasha, you wanna put them in concentric circles. I wanna do this.
Saying so, she put a marshmallow up into Natasha's nose. She gave her a deadpanned look and popped it out. Pepper took the cookies out of the oven and approached them.
Pepper : Girls, stop acting like kids. Yelena will you be a dear and bring the cinnamon buns from the table near the tree or else the guys will eat all of them.
Yelena : Sure
Yelena went to the tree and bumped into Clint.
Yelena : Clint Barton! Good to see you are alive.
Clint : Good to see you too, Yelena.
Yelena : Who is this kid?
Clint : Oh this is my protégé. Kate.
Kate : Hi I'm Katherine Bishop. You can call me Kate.
They shook hands.
Yelena : Protégé? Clint Barton I am impressed.
Natasha : Hey what are you doing? Pepper sent me to see what's taking you so long. Oh hey Clint!
Kate : Oh my god! You're Black Widow! Oh my god!
Clint : Uhh Nat this is Kate.
Yelena (smirking) : Yes his protégé
Natasha : Oh you're Kate. I've heard so much about you from Clint
Kate : Really?
Pepper (shouting from a distance) : Will anyone get the Cinnamon buns?
Wanda : Ah sure. Should have told earlier.
She used her magic to lift the buns and floated it towards Pepper and landed it on her hands. She just looked and shrugged. This is not the craziest things she had seen.
Suddenly Tony emerged from down the lab. He was anxious. He rubbed his temples.
Tony : Okay we have a problem. Santa cancelled on us. He is sick.
Pepper : Oh god!
Clint : Uhh why do we need a Santa?
Pepper : Morgan really wanted to see Santa but what do we do now? The party's in three hours.
Everyone went silent. Suddenly Natasha spoke up. She had an idea.
Natasha : We'll figure something out.
She winked.
Avengers Tower : 3 hours later....
Everyone who was invited were already there. It was the Avengers and the usual residents of the tower and a few guests here and there. The others there was Peter, Kate, and Betty. The christmas treats were in the counter and everyone had their eggnogs.. The tree was decorated beautifully thanks to Steve, Sam and Wanda. They were all chatting. Betty was catching up with Bruce. Kate and Peter had immediately become friends. You know teen superhero and stuff. Sam and Clint were talking about.. Who knows what. Yelena was bored so she went and stood near Bucky.
Yelena : Hello James
Bucky : Oh hey Yelena. How are you doing?
Yelena : Well my sister ditched me for her stupid fiancée.
She said as she looked at Steve and Natasha kissing under a mistletoe in a distance.
Bucky : Ya if it's any better Steve ditched me for her too but I can't call her stupid or she'll kill me.
Yelena (chuckling) : Yes that's true.
Although everyone was having a great time, Tony was worried. There was still no Santa. Morgan, who was sitting in his lap turned her head up to look at him.
Morgan : Dada wer Santa?
She asked in broken words. She was still learning to speak. Great,! Now where will he get a Santa. Suddenly, the Elevator doors opened and in came in... Santa. Well guess who it was.
Santa : HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS MORTALS.
Pepper who was standing near Natasha was shocked.
Pepper : Oh my god! Is that Thor?
Natasha (chuckling) : Yes.
Behind Santa, came some one else in a green elf costume and a frown.
Clint : Oh god.... It's Loki.
Everyone was shocked but the one who was not phased by any of this was Morgan. She ran up to Santa Thor and hugged him.
Morgan : Santaaaa!!! I lob you.
Santa Thor : Oh young mortal! I've come bearing presents. And here meet my elf.
Morgan jumped and hugged Elf Loki.
Morgan : Mr. Elp wat prents di you bing me?
Loki was a bit hesitant. No body ever hugged him like that. He softly patted her head.
Elf Loki : Oh okay small human. You have your presents under that big colourful tree
Everyone was looking at the scene in awe. It was adorable. Natasha, especially. She was becoming emotional.
Steve : Hey you okay?
Natasha : Ya I'm fine.
But Yelena knew.
Yelena : This reminds you of our childhood, doesn't it?
Natasha : Ya. Remember how Alexei used to dress up as Santa. Even though I knew it was fake, I really enjoyed it. I think deep down I believed it too. I used to think that I'd do it with my kids too.. but anyways you having fun?
Yelena : Yes. Peter and Kate are fun.
Near the tree, Peter and Kate were in a deep conversation. Well about...
Kate : Dude! You're kidding me? You haven't seen Mean girls? Like it's a classic. Rachel Mcadams is the best.
Peter : I know I know I'll give it a try.
Kate : You know we need to have a movie night. You can bring your friends Ned and MJ.
Peter : Ya that sounds fun.
Tony and Pepper approached Thor and Loki after Morgan was done playing with them.
Pepper : We personally wanted to thank you two for what you did for Morgan.
Tony : Ya that was.... Nice especially you Loki. I didn't expect you to do it.
Loki sighed.
Elf Loki : Though Thor made me do it, I'm glad to see the small human happy.
Santa Thor : Yes. We'll do anything for this young mortal.
Pepper : Here enjoy these Christmas cookies.
Natasha was sitting on the couch in a distance, still thinking about what happened earlier. Suddenly Morgan came jumping to her with a cookie in her hand.
Morgan : Aunie Nat!
Natasha smiled.
Natasha : Hey Morgan.
Morgan : I go a cookie for you.
Natasha's heart melted right then and there. She pulled Morgan into her lap and broke the cookie and fed her half. They were giggling and Morgan was blabbering. Steve looked at them and smiled. He had never seen Natasha so happy.
Tony clicked his glass of eggnog to get everyone's attention. He cleared his throat.
Tony : Okay everyone listen up. It's time for putting the tree topper. Ahh miss Moguna will you do the honors?
Morgan giggled. Natasha brought Morgan near the tree.
Tony : Okay now miss, uncle Steve is going to pick you up and you just put it on top alright?
Morgan : Okay Dada.
Steve picked her up high enough so she can reach the the top and she placed the big star on top. The room was filled with cheers and clapping. Pepper was recording with a slight tear in her eye.
As the night was coming to an end, Tony announced.
Tony : Alright everyone, as it's getting late, let's end this night with a group photo. Everyone gather near the tree.
Everyone went near the tree. Tony sat down with Morgan on his shoulders. Everyone else stood around them.
Tony : F. R. I. D. A. Y take a picture.
F. R. I. D. A. Y : Of course sir.
Tony : Okay everyone say...
