Caitlin and Lia have always talked about having a baby ever since they first got together. Yes they were only young but Lia could see spending the rest of her life with the Australian. 20/5/21 they had there first around of IVF. It was really an over night thing when they decided ‘yeah let’s actually book the appointment’. It has been decided from the start that Lia could carry the baby, little did she know how much it would take a toll on her.
Walking hand in hand into the clinic on a random Thursday night after training still in their training gear, they sat down in the cozy reception.
“ whatever happens Lia it’s going to be okay” Caitlin’s whispered into her ear then to leave a lingering kiss on her cheek
“ I love you “ Lia said returning the kiss
“ Miss Lia walti and Miss Caitlin Foord” a gingered hair women called out
picking themself up from the sofa they walked down to a narrow hallway into the room sitting down Lia couldn’t help just feel so nervous. Her legs were bouncing rapidly until a soft hand was placed on her thigh.
“ okay Lia I’m Dr Woodridge and I’ll be your doctor through your whole Ivf journey, so I believe this is your first time yes?” The women spoke
“ yes, yes it is” lia smiled
“okay so as you know it may not always work, it may take a few arounds, so you are aware that we normally place around 10 - 20 eggs in you so don’t worry your not going to be having 20 babies but there is a higher possibility of you having twins or triplets“ said Dr woodridge
“ yes that’s completely fine “ Lia smiled
“ ok then if you like to sit on this seat and we’ll begin” the women spoke
It was around a week after their ivf appointment, and the couple were causally walking through Sainsbury’s together, Caitlin tended to talk a lot and Lia just listened. As Caitlin was so quiet walking around the supermarket made lia concerned
“ you alright love “ lia said looking at the Australian next to her as she wheeled the Trolly along
“ yeh I’m just you know worried ” Caitlin said stopping in her tracks which made Lia stop in her tracks
“ like you said whatever happens we will stick together “ lia said grabbing the Australian cheeks to pull them into a kiss
Pulling apart Lia bent over to grab a pregnancy test, still bent over Caitlin took the chance to squeeze her bum.
“ Caitlin “ lia squealed, quickly putting herself back up and throwing a test in the trolly
“ if I’m pregnant that’s one thing where not doing “ lia said giving Caitlin a big smile
“ oh shush your to horny to go 9 months with out someone touching you like remember the euros “ Caitlin whispered into her the Swiss ear
“ shush anyways I can take this test tonight as it’s been a week now so we can take it tonight” lia said trying to change to subject
They put away there shopping and went up stairs to take the test, Lia felt a mix of nerves she was exited but also nervous at the fact her life might change forever, Caitlin sat on the sink and watched Lia take the test. She cleaned herself up and placed the test on the counter.
“ how long do they normally take” Caitlin questioned
“ the box said around 10 minutes” Lia said pulling her pants back up
“ ugh this is going to be a long ten minutes “ Caitlin’s groaned
Lia didn’t say anything she just placed her self between the Australians leg; there the Australian kissed her on the lips, Lia deepened the kiss. Letting herself get lost into the Australian. Caitlin let her take control of the kiss as she relaxed into the Swiss women’s lips
Lia finally did pull away though to check on the test.
Twisting the test around, Lia felt liked she had been slapped. all so could do is cry into Caitlin. Little did she know she was going to feel that feeling over and over again.

Lia cried into Leahs arms, she felt like a weight had been lifted of her shoulders like something had finally got right for her. Suddenly she felt leah pull away from the hug
“ but Caitlin though “ Leah said pulling away from the hug to use her jumper to wipe Lias tears
“ I will have to speak to her, well I’m coming back into training tomorrow but I might leave it a few days and then tell her” Lia sniffed
The tears were 100% happy tears but like 1% was the fact the Caitlin was not here to witness this but at least she was with her best friend.
The girls spent their time talking about baby things and names they would like and most importantly how she was going to tell Caitlin.
“ you ever going to have a baby” lia said sipping her tea
“ one day when I finally find the right person, I thought I found the person 2 years ago but you know how that went” lia said looking down at her lap
lia face dropped into a frown she’ll never forget that night when leah came to her crying her eyes out becuase Jordan had ended it after 5 years, Lia can even see it herself that Leah finds it hard to let people into her life, like when Lia first joined her she was like a rock and she had to like brake through the rock to realise Leah was a great big softy.
Leah deserve to be loved and Jordan did love her but the spark ran out. It’s like the Taylor Swift lyrics “ this thing was a masterpiece until you tore it all up “ or like what Lias grandma said to her bestfriend stopped speaking to her “you where lucky to have someone that makes saying goodbye hard” that quote stuck to Lia, she can see it jordan and Leah are still there for each over and see knows deep down they still love each over. Maybe one they’ll figure there shit but for now they’ll just stay confused.
Leah stayed late, lia offered to drive the blonde home as she walked not knowing she would stay for so long
switching of her car engine leah turned to the swiss
“ whatever happens mate I’m here for you “

Driving away she was left in her own thoughts, it’s the fact she’s had a baby growing inside her after all the failed tries. She still had to tell Caitlin though. And her mum and dad and her sister. She couldn’t wait to see the look on her sisters face when she tells her the big news.
it was around 10pm when so got home, deciding to have a early night since it was her first day at training tomorrow she wrapped up into some nice pyjamas and pulled the duvet to her chin.

Her alarm blared through her room, she really didn’t miss waking up at this time. She was some what excited to see Caitlin in a way, but it’s that fact that she might have to talk to her. Sighing she pulled herself out of bed, she frowned at her feet coming into contact with the old wooden floor. Her feet padded down the hallway and she made her way into the bathroom. One minute she was brushing her teeth next minute toothbrush was the the counter and the Swiss head was down the toilet bowl. Shit she forgot that she had a baby inside of her. Bit of an issue.
She got changed and decided that she couldn’t mouth breakfast. She took one last look at herself in the mirror. Her belly did have a tiny bump but that small you could dismiss it with just being bloated. She took one last deep breath before she walked out of the front door.
The cold crisp London morning hit her as she locked her front door. Her breath could be seen in the winter weather, it was the type of morning where the car door made a cracking noise when it was opened. Sitting in the seat she chucked her bag into the seat next her and placed her hand at the bottom of the stomach “ we’ll figure are shit out for you little one “ she whispered down at her stomach.
Pulling into the training ground, it was nice to see all the players were happy to see her. Katie was the first to see her as she stepped out of the car, she squealed like a teenage girl as she ran up and hugged her. “ we need a big catch up Wally” she said placing her hand around her as they walked into the training ground together. Lia just sighed at dropped her head into the crook of the Irish women’s neck. Many of the girls greeted her the same. Kim give her the classic squeeze and Beth gave her the classic kiss on the cheek. Caitlin however gave her the weak smile. The one that was forced but it meant something but at the same time didn’t. She sat down as pulled her boots on. Quickly looking up she realised it was only her and the Australian left in the room.
“ how you- “ Caitlin was quickly cut off by the phyiso coming into the training room
“ we just want to do some checks on you and have a little conversation” Hayley the physio smiled softly at the Lia
“ come over to mine after training?” lia said in a sort of a pleading way
“ yes “ Lia heard the Australian say as she walked out of the door
She walked into the physio room and was greeted by Hayley’s warm smile again “ hop up on her Lia we just need to ask you a few questions “ she said patting on the physio bed
“ okay right on the medical app you haven’t been logging your period so I know it’s been a rough few weeks so it’s okay don’t worry just make sure to go back and log it “ Hayley said reading of her note pad
“ I haven’t come on my period yet “ lia said softly “ I think it’s just stress and stuff” she quickly jumped in so nothing would be assumed
“ yes probably that was it is and oh is your calf still bothering you at all” Hayley said not even looking up at Lia, few she got away with it
“ I mean it cramps every now and then but nothing too bad” lia said moving her eyes from the wall she had been staring at for a past 10 minutes now to her calf
“ okay that’s good I’ll but some tape on it and then I think where good today” Hayley said tossing her note pad aside “ oh and another thing you’ll just be in the gym today as we want to ease you back into training and not over work you”
“ yeah that’s fine “ lia answered as she watched the ginger wrap tape around her calf
“ right all done, good to see you back Lia mark should be the gym waiting for you and Caitlins in there she did sometime on her calf last training so you’ll have some company ” Hayley smiled.
Lia smiled back I mean nice to have some company but Caitlin. She wasn’t really up for speaking at the moment especially to her ex. Entering the gym her and Caitlin face immediately meant.
“ mark has left us too it he was to be in a meeting “ Caitlin said passing over her fitness plan
“ oh okay “ lia said turning her back to walk away
“ lia can we please talk “ Caitlin pleaded
“ WHAT IS THERE TOO TALK ABOUT YOU LEFT M-ME AND NOW I-IM” lia stumbled over words “ pregnant “ lia whispered before she ran out of the gym
Caitlin face dropped in shock, lia did not mean to yell but she had been going through so much shit. And she sat there ‘ can we please talk’ saying it like she’s the one who got left because she couldn’t have kids.
She ran until she into the toilets that literally nobody uses. She locked the door and slid her body down the cool tiles. Warm tears came trickling down her face, she felt so mad for snapping at Caitlin but she really couldn’t help it.
She didn’t know how long she had been in there for until, a familiar voice called her name out. Lia lifted her head at the voice. “ lia let me in “ the voice said again knocking on the door
Opening the door she was faced with the Australian. She had been crying and so had Lia. They both stared at each over until Caitlin quickly crowed her space to attack her lips. Slamming the Swiss back against the door she was crying against not long ago. She fumbled to lock the door. Caitlin felt long arms wrap around her neck and she deepened the kiss. They were both fighting for control it wasn’t the nicest of make out sessions they’ve had, it was full of teeth clashing. Caitlin finally won it by dragging her teeth across the younger girls lip to draw out a moan then to place her tongue inside.
“ Cait cait can we please speak properly first “ Lia said pulling away from the kiss
“ well that’s why I’ve come to find you I told the staff that your not feeling well so they said I could take you home” Caitlin said tucking a loose strand behind the Swiss ear
The girls both sat there panting, lia did not expect to have a heavy make out session. Driving home she kept craving having Caitlin’s lips on her, it was driving her crazy she just wanted to have her on body again.
Pulling in the drive way, Caitlin was not long after her. They both made their way inside.
“ sorry it’s a bit messy I’ve been going through to much” lia said kicking a bag which was in the way
“ it’s okay I understand” Caitlin followed lia into the kitchen hand in tracky bottoms
Sitting down on the sofa lia let out a sigh, it was nice to see the Australian. She looked as perfect as always she just wished things were as they used to be minus the IVF problems.
“ right I’ll tell you straight up, I’m pregnant I found out with Leah the over night because she saw when she came over that I had brought a pregnancy test because I missed my period, so I took it where here and it came back positive” lia rambled out
Caitlin placed a hand on her thigh and brought her in for a warm cuddle, lia breathed in the similar sent of the women
“ lia I’m so sorry for leaving you I just wanted to have kids I was just getting angry and upset you know how I get” Caitlin softly as a singular tear fell down her have
“ you promise never to fuck me over like that again then” Lia said lifting her head sounding stern
“ I promise I’ll never leave you and are baby “
Caitlin smiled to herself as lia wiped away her tears, cait placed a hand on the Swiss stomach who then placed her hand ontop of hers.
“ I’m sorry” Caitlin said
“ Cait where two girls where dramatic, I had pregnancy hormones and you where just find it hard it’s okay” Lia placed her head into the crook of the Austrias neck
“ I love you “ Cait whispered
“ I love you sometimes” lia said licking Caitlin’s ear
“ ew lia that’s mank “ her Australian accent sounding thicker than normal as she pushed away the Swiss
They where back to Lia and Caitlin
