"ugh, I hate my parents! Sometimes wonder if they love to embarrass me on purpose!" Peter groans as he sits down in his car
"I'm sure that it won't be that bad I mean come on they are your parents," Ned tries to reason
"You live with the avengers! They act like children half the time," Peter argues
"How childish could they get?" MJ asks
"Uncle Clint whines every time his team loses the prank wars every month, or aunt Nat slightly grumbles every time she gets out in the nerf war. Thor cries when there isn't a stock of pop tarts. Uncle Bruce or dad whine and pout when they get locked out of their labs. Uncle Steve and Uncle Bucky get angry and stomp over to me whenever they can't open their phones and hold them out to me and do puppy dog eyes while asking 'I can't opwn the phwne. Cwuld you pwease open it for me?', and oh and uncle Loki angrily throws the Nintendo wii remote across the room every time he loses. There are so many more that there are and this is the mild side," Peter rants
"I take that back," MJ says shaking her head
Peter nods and tells Karan to start driving while he pulls up some holograms for his next project that they are going to work on.
When they get back to the tower and are in the private elevator F.R.I.D.A.Y asks Peter "MS what's wrong? You seem upset about something."
"We have overnight Feildtrip here for the rest of the week. Dad organised it and sent the school permission for me, MJ and Ned to come already," peter whines to the AI
"looks like Peter luck strikes again," the AI says chuckling "Would you like me to take me to your floor?"
"yes please Fri," Peter replies
Once they get back to their floor. Peter goes into his room to go on patrol.
~an hour later~
Peter returns to find his friends ready to take their usual rounds to help around the tower.
While at one of the intern labs pepper pops in and asks the trio "I heard about the field trip you guys have to start tomorrow. Tony told me it's for the rest of the week."
"So it was only dad that planned this?!" Peter asks irritated
"yes. But remember Bambi, that there's a press conference this Sunday. It would be easier if we start by telling your class. And the press conference was a long time coming remember?" Pepper asks
"Yeah, I know. it's just that while I would love not to hide my actual identity from the world. I actually love the quiet and peaceful life I live outside the home and my duty as a spiderman. When I'm at school, I'm just a normal teenage boy. I'm not popular and I'm not known as Tony and Pepper Stark's son. I'm just the nerdy kid who loves science and Robotics. I like that aspect of my life, and I love this aspect of my life, but I'm scared that once the truth comes out I'll be treated differently. Sure, the usual bullying happens during school, but that's life. I just wish these two aspects of my life don't have to mix," Peter confesses to his mother and friends
"I understand Peter, but we can't hide you forever. We love that you can occasionally come to board meetings with Tony and me but we don't want to introduce you as our Intern anymore. We are proud to call you our son and we want to show you to the world. We didn't want to tell the press until now because we didn't want you to grow up as your father did. You turning 18 in 2 months Spidey and soon once you complete senior year if you want to continue it after we tell the world the company will be given to you. Remember you are more capable than you think. You are the only one that can live you to the legacy your grandfather and your father made. And not even Tony can live up to what he has made. Now I know you're not only thinking about school but your life as Spiderman. I assure you, whatever you decide upon saying to the press this Sunday Tony, the avengers, Shuri, the rouges, Ned, MJ and the rest of SI will be behind you every step of the way no matter what," Pepper says
"What your Mother is true, Spidey. We Love and care for you. Whatever happens, we will be by your side," MJ says smiling softly
"Petey I know you are my boss and that I'm a regular intern here at SI, but I want to tell you this. I know for a fact that all interns also agree. Some have known you since you were 5 and some much shorter but over the years we have seen you grow into the young man you are. We all know that you put your time every day to be spiderman. You are the son of the most iconic and successful couple out there and yet you are the most humble person we know. You treat all of us with respect and as if we were your friends. You take the role of a leader when you have to and show us the right path. Pepper is right, You are the future of SI, the sole heir to it. Tony had created a legacy as both an inventor and CEO of SI as well as IronMan. If he were to restart he won't be able to live up to the expectations of everyone. You can and will exceed every single expectation that will be thrown at you. You're only 17 and you're smarter than all of us combined. There isn't anyone else we would rather have as our future CEO and boss than you," Max, an Intern who had been there since Peter was 6 said
"Thanks, guys. Thank you for all your support. I know that I've not always been the best at doing certain things but you guys still treat me with respect so thank you so much," Peter says gratefully
"come on Steve made spaghetti," Pepper says
Nodding the three teens head to the commons. When seated Natasha questions the teens about the upcoming field trip and Peter begs for them not to embarrass him in front of his class, but the avengers made no promises.
