Wong, the matchmaker🫶🏻

Wong genuinely believed he might go insane.

In the past two weeks, he's been watching you and Stephen engage. He's taken note of how he didn't immediately turn away when you handed him a book or a decoration and how his expression softened when you smiled at him. It indicated that someone had finally won Stephen Strange's heart because everybody who is acquainted with the sorcerer knows that he isn't publicly affectionate.

And you were that person.

The fact that the two of you liked each other was so painfully obvious. He couldn't figure out why Stephen hadn't made a move already.

Stephen Vincent Strange must be a complete moron if he truly believes you don't like him. You've given him more than enough signals. It was therefore obvious that the sorcerer wouldn't act any time soon.

That could only mean one thing. He must take matters into his own hands.

--

This year, the younger students decorated Kamar-taj, and he may or may not have given them the idea to hang some mistletoe, but who could blame him? How Stephen didn't catch on the flirtatious remarks you made about him today was driving him insane.

However, it seemed as though Strange tried to sabotage any opportunity he had with you. Any mistletoe he came across, he would simply take it down. It appeared as though Wong had the Grinch himself in front of him.

The library is where you and Stephen typically go, so he made the decision to attach more there. Since Wong is aware that the two of you are continuously reading and not really paying attention to your surroundings, Stephen might not notice them until it is too late.

He might have overdone with the ornaments since the ceiling was almost entirely covered in them—but it wasn't necessarily that horrible. Why is he trying to lie to himself? It was that horrible. It appeared to be chaotic, so perhaps he ought to remove some of them. But before he could do anything, the library door opened.

As usual, neither of you were paying attention to your surroundings; you were both reading. Perfect.

What wasn’t perfect was America being there with Stephen, attempting to rush him.

"Come on, I want to pick a Christmas tree." The girl dragged the sorcerer a little, pleading with him.

"We will, America. But first, we must take Astronomia Nova.” Finally setting the book aside, Stephen turned to face her.

She sighed as she stopped him in his tracks and began to lean slightly into him, "But it's Christmas.”

“No, Christmas is in a week. You have a lot of time to finish it, it’s not even that long.” Stephen stated as he gave her a bored looked.

“Ugh, fine.” America groaned in defeat as she went forward, but then stopped suddenly, now looking up.

Stephen looked where the girl was gazing, and he sighed. He glanced at you unintentionally for a split second and noticed that you were still at the entryway and most likely still reading.

Wong noticed that, so he was somewhat relieved that it wasn't completely useless. Nevertheless, he was somewhat disappointed that his plan didn't work out, but that doesn't mean he'll give up.

"Wong, could you kindly ask the students to stop hanging up so many mistletoes?" Stephen muttered as he gave him a vile glare.

Finally turning his attention back to America, the girl said, giggling, "It looks like someone puked on the ceiling."

Then she offered Stephen a sly grin as she began to wriggle her eyebrows.

He arched an eyebrow at her and asked “What?”

“We're under the mistletoe," she said, shrugging her shoulders.

Before giving her a gentle forehead kiss, Stephen sighed once more. "You're going to be the death of me, kid," Then America jumped into Stephen's arms and gave him a bear hug.

Wong couldn't deny that this wasn’t adorable, even though it wasn't what he had in mind. It was comforting to know that America had finally found someone to refer to as family.

Additionally, this revealed to Wong that Stephen isn't opposed to this Christmas tradition, so there was still a lot of hope.

But this is the right time to include America in his plan. If he won't start dating you, with her assistance, then the sorcerer is truly a lost cause.

--

You agreed when America asked whether you wanted to help them decorate the Christmas tree at the Sanctum. Imagine Stephen's surprise at seeing you. His expression was priceless, and Wong really should have snapped a photo.

No, he doesn’t need to get distracted. Focus Wong, he can make fun of Stephen later.

Everything was running smoothly and the piece of resistance was placed in the kitchen. All that remained was for America to fulfill her role and to begin decorating the tree.

“Steph?” As she added some stars, America questioned.

“Yeah?” He lit the lights on the tree and stared at her as her eyes brightened.

"Can we take a break? I would want some hot cocoa.” Before turning to face you and Wong, he offered her a gentle smile.

“Are you two up for some hot chocolate?” He questioned, feeling his heart skip a beat as he watched your joyful grin.

“I would have been offended if you didn’t make me one” When you eventually walked by him, you taunted him as your hands briefly touched. He sincerely hoped that he wasn't blushing. "Lead the way, magic man."

"You're lucky to be one of the few individuals I can truly tolerate because that disrespect is at another level," He chuckled slightly, his voice a little trembling as he made his way to the kitchen. You simply smiled at him, but that didn't do him any good; he could feel the heat rising on his face.

Wong and America glanced at each other as they swiftly followed the two of you.

Making the drinks, Stephen tried to divert his attention from the fact that he felt as though he was going to melt away in that moment.

Wong and America joined you at the table, but they remained silent as they watched the two of you. Everything would be ideal if you could just get a little bit closer to Stephen.

“I'd appreciate it if you could get me 4 cups from the cabinet.” Stephen said as he broke the comfortable silence in the room.

You simply replied, "Sure," and then left to get them.

All right, that's it. It would finally happen.

Wong and America began to hold their breath as you drew near Stephen.

You touched Stephen's hand as you placed them on the counter and said, "Here."

“Y/N, Stephen!” As you both turned to look at the girl, America abruptly yelled. By the time she eventually said, "Look up," you were both still giving her perplexed looks.

Stephen felt the sensation that he had just passed away as his legs nearly failed him. You, on the other hand, could only hear the rapid, forceful hammering of your own heart.

You both stared into each other's eyes, unsure of what to do. Even so, did he want to kiss you?

Even though he didn't show it, Stephen was essentially having a breakdown. Does he have to kiss you? That wasn't appropriate, was it? Maybe he should just kiss you on the cheek quickly. He didn't want his silly crush to jeopardize the friendship he already had with you.

Stephen gave the mistletoe one more look before turning to face you. He leaned in, a tinge of color brightening his cheeks. His lips puffed up, and he quickly kissed your cheek.

Although Wong and America were disappointed, they thought that it was better than nothing.

But it wasn't enough for you.

You drew him into a kiss by snatching him by the lapels of his shirt. As Stephen reluctantly reciprocated the kiss by cautiously putting his lips together for the first time, warmth erupted in your chest and sparks began to appear. His lips against yours felt smooth, almost velvety. It seemed as though the two of you were meant to be together.

“Took you long enough” Wong stated and it eventually dawned on you that there were, in fact, other people in there, one of whom was a child.

Stephen cleared his throat as he took a step back as the two of you retreated. He gave America and Wong a very embarrassed look, but he kept quiet. Not knowing what to do either, you began to scratch your head. Although it seemed a little awkward, you went to where Wong and America were sat after noticing that Stephen had begun to pour drinks into the cups.

Wong struggled to control his smile while America could hardly contain her laughing. When you and Stephen began to cast them strange looks, you finally connected the dots and understood what they had done.

You began to say, "You two—," but America cut you off.

She shouted, "I didn't do anything," as she swiftly exited the kitchen after taking a cup of hot chocolate from Stephen. The two of them didn't truly believe that the sorcerer supreme would do something like that and just stared at him in astonishment.

“I don't know why you're staring at me that way, but I did nothing wrong.” Wong added before chuckling a little and grabbing a cup to also leave the kitchen.

“Just to be sure that you’re thinking the same thing I am.” Stephen whispered softly before taking your hand in his and intertwining his fingers with yours. “Do you really think they set us up?”

“Now that I think about it—there were too many mistletoes at Kamar-taj for it to be a coincidence” As Stephen became even more flustered, you chuckled. That means that Wong had discovered his crush on you. He didn’t think that it was that obvious.

"Now, come on Stephen.” You gave him a short kiss on the lips and then stated, "That tree isn't going to decorate itself.

He grinned and said, "Well, technically.." as you hauled him from the kitchen.

“No spells, Mr. Strange.” As he simply shrugged his shoulders, you gave him a serious look.

"No promises"
