Chapter 29
The following weeks passed rather peacefully without anything changing. The only thing which was actually changing was Loki's shape. Four weeks later and he started showing unmissably. Thor enjoyed that everyone could finally see that Loki was pregnant with his child, however, Loki wasn't all too happy about the small belly forming under his shirt. One morning, he stood in front of the mirror in their bathroom, staring at his reflection disapprovingly. Thor stood behind him, hugging him close to his chest.
Loki: "Can't this whole thing work without me growing as well? Don't get me wrong, I love carrying your child but - this - this is just … "
Thor laughed at Loki's frustration and gently ruffled his hair.
Thor: "You're just as beautiful as always, Loki. Believe me. Never worry about your look!"
Loki frowned, letting his head drop onto Thor's shoulder.
Loki: "I might even believe you if I didn't know you're lying."
Thor: "I'd never lie to you! You should know that, in my eyes, you'll always be the most beautiful creature in the nine realms, even if you were overweight, which you're not at all. Also - if you'd stay flat like you are, our baby wouldn't have enough space to grow."
Loki didn't reply and so they remained like this for a while, feeling save in each other's embrace. But when Thor felt Loki's stomach rumbling, Thor let go of him.
Thor: "You're hungry, aren't you?"
Loki: "Oh, well - actually I am. Will you get something here?"
Thor: "Sure! Any special wishes for breakfast?"
Thor was already half-way out the door, not really expecting an answer.
Loki: "Something with ham or bacon would be fine. And maybe try to get grapes as well. But please many! And - do you think they've got something sweet here?"
For a moment Thor froze in astonishment. Normally Loki wasn't a great eater, especially not when it came to sweets for breakfast. But then he realized that this had probably something to do with Loki's progressing pregnancy. He'd already heard that women's attitudes could be - strange in such situations and as it seemed, this was not only referring to ladies. He gave Loki a loving smile.
Thor: "I'll see what can be done."

Tony: "What the hell are you doing?"
This was Tony's first reaction when he entered his kitchen, ready to take a relaxed drink, and found Thor standing in front of the oven, a plate of grapes in one hand, a piece of raw bacon in the other and a pan in front of him.
Tony: "You're not doing what I think you are, right? You're not honestly trying to burn my kitchen and my house!"
By hese words, the Asgardian turned around, a mixture of confusion and joy on his features.
Thor: "No worries, my friend! Neither of these were my intentions. I'm simply testing your technology."
Tony: "And - why the hell are you then cooking?"
The scientist walked over to his friend and grabbed the meat out of his hand, shoving him to the side gently to do the work himself. Just for sure.
Thor: "Loki wishes to eat breakfast. By the way, do you have some chocolate?"
For a second, it looked as if Tony was about to drop the pan, but instead he gave Thor a bewildered glance.
Tony: " - Do I even wanna know why you're searching grapes and chocolate at the same time? No - let me guess: For Loki?"
Thor's face lightened up into a smile.
Thor: "Exactly!"
The inventor rolled his eyes.
Tony: " - Look buddy, I really appreciate your help in the household but - I don't think this is gonna work out. You're just - not familiar with our way of - household. And - if Loki's gonna eat up my whole stock, the least thing I demand is that you help me rebuy our food."
Thor: "I'm sorry my friend, but I need to stay with Loki."
Tony: "Oh I'm sure reindeer games is gonna survive a while without ya, right?"
Thor looked doubtfully but Tony didn't give him time to argue.
Tony: "So, I finish the cooking, you bring it up to him and then we go, fine?"
For a moment, it looked as if Thor was considering, but then he patted his ally on the back.
Thor: "Fine then."
He was already heading for the door, when Tony began to speak once again.
Tony: "And - if you're still searching for the chocolate - in the cupboard in the living room lies a whole bar."
Thor looked back at him with a soft expression of sympathy in his gaze.
Thor: "Thank you, my-"
Tony: "But don't let him eat too much! Otherwise he's going to be even fatter than he's gonna be anyways. - Not that I bothered, it's just - sex could be difficult then."
…
And so it came that one hour later, Loki was eating contently while Thor accompanied his fellow avenger to organize new supplies.
