Fake?
“You’re taking this too seriously, Zoro-ya.” Law sighed, slightly irritated at the other swordsman. “If you want this too work-”
“It is working.” Zoro glared at the surgeon. “You just don’t know how to act enamored enough-”
“Excuse you! This was your shitty idea in the first place!”
“You agreed to go along with it!”
“I doubt Mugiwara-ya has even noticed!” Law hissed. “He’s probably asexual for all the lack of care he’s shown towards such things.”
“But-”
Law sighed. “I’m tired of this charade, Zoro-ya. This has been a long night especially after Kaidou. I would have thought you wanted to eat and drink with him instead of trying this convoluted scheme.”
Zoro narrowed his eye at Law. “It’s not like I can just tell him. He’ll think I just like him as Nakama…”
“Have you ever tried talking to him?” Robin smiled creepily.
Both Zoro and Law jumped.
“Fuckin’ hell, Robin. And, no, I haven’t.” Zoro frowned.
“It seems that both of your unrequited crushes could both be easily solved by talking.” Robin suggested before vanishing is a flurry of petals.
“That was unexpected.” Law commented.
“Well, that’s Robin for you.” Zoro sighed. “Do you think it could be that easy?”
“No. Talking can be very difficult, Zoro-ya.”
The two pondered for a while in silence. Sounds of the party drifted toward them, trying to lure the duo back into the frey in vain. Their silence was charged in all of the worst ways as words were left unsaid between them. It was terrifying, to be vulnerable and to put themselves out like that. Law took a breath to steady his nerves and ask Zoro to go back to their crews when he was interrupted by the appearance of Luffy.
“Zoro! Torao! Why’re you guys back here instead of partying?!” Luffy asked while grabbing a hand from each of his friends.
“Ah! Um Luffy-ya, we were talking.” Law mumbled.
“Why’d you come and find us?” Asked Zoro.
“Hmm, thought you got lost again, Zoro! ‘Nd Robin told me where you guys were!” He started pulling on both of their hands. “Now let’s go! I’ve eaten most of the food!”
“Before we go, Luffy. I-I need to talk to you.” Zoro’s face was red, not understanding why he stuttered. He decided it was no or never to tell his Captain.
“Neh?” Luffy tilted his head, curious.
“I like you.” Zoro said. It came out way too fast to be able to tell what he said.
“But I thought you liked Torao?”
“I mean, I do but-”
“That’s also why you’re dating Torao.”
“Mugiwara-ya…” Law tried to hide his blushing face in the shadow of his hat.
“But Luffy-”
“‘Nd I wouldn’t wanna get between you two.” Luffy pouts, looking sad.
“But you wouldn’t be?” Law said, confused with where this was going.
“But I like both of you a lot.” Luffy stated with a light blush on his cheeks. “‘Nd I don’t wanna choose.”
Law and Zoro shared a look and nodded before speaking. “You wouldn’t have to!” They first bonded over their crush on the raven, so sharing him seemed like an acceptable solution.
Luffy lit up, his smile was blinding. “Really?”
“Really.” Zoro and Law smiled at the younger male.
With a grin, Luffy was dragging them around to show to everyone at the party. He even stole food that people were holding to not have to let go of Law or Zoro’s hands.
Robin just laughed from her place as she watched them.
“Did something turn out the way you wanted it to, Robin?” Franky grinned at her.
“You could say that.” She smiled.
“That’s super!!!”
With a laugh they settled into their loud evening as well.
Who said misunderstandings couldn’t end in satisfactory conclusions?
