Conquering the Conqueror

“Young Master, It is time to wake up.” Konro announced while he opened the curtains, allowing the room to be filled with light.

Benimaru grunted, annoyed. “It is still much too early to awaken me in such a matter, Konro.” He grumbled, pulling a pillow back over his head.

“Now, now, Young Master, such behavior is unbefitting.” Konro turned to Beni.

“That’s not what you said when you were fucking my brains out last night.”

“Beni!”

Beni just laughed at how deep the flush of his butler was. “It’s not like you can deny it either.” He sat up, his blankets pooled at his waist.

“Still, you shouldn’t say it so crassly. What if-”

“Yeah yeah I should be afraid of anyone finding out yada yada yada… As long as I have you, I will not need for anything else.” Beni stated, staring into Konro’s eyes. Their red color almost seemed to hold back an all consuming fire.

Konro cleared his throat and looked away. “Over dramatic as always, Beni.”

Beni huffed, after standing he moved closer to Konro. “I’m not as bad as the twins.” He wrapped his arms around Konro’s waist.

“You could at least hug me once you were wearing clothes, Young Master.” Konro sighed and continued moving around the room to get Beni ready for the day. “You are to be crowned the Shogun of Asakusa. It is not becoming of you to act in this way.”

“Becoming Shogun was not my first choice, but-”

“The Hajima medicine.”
Beni huffed. “That was only one reason that I decided to join the Empire of Tokyo. There were many other benefits as well.”

Konro shook his head. “You’re ridiculous, Young Master.”

“I didn’t do it just for your medicine!”

Their eyes met. Konro could see the pain hidden there. He knew he was a big part of why Beni had aligned them with the imperialist dogs. “As you say, Young Master. Now, will you allow me to dress you for the ceremony? We have many delegates from the other Shogunates, Imperial family, and Church.”

“Fine.” Beni sighed. “I feel like I’ll look ridiculous.”

“You will look amazing if you stop slouching.” Konro commented then swatted Beni’s ass.

Beni gasped. “You-” A flush prominently on his cheeks.

“I’ll be helping you out of it later anyways.”

“Oi, Konro-”

“But, only if you’re good, Benimaru Shinmon.”

Beni smirked. “You must be serious if you’re using my full name. Eh, Konro?”

Konro just leveled a glare at his charge.

With a sigh Beni conceded. “Fine, fine I will.”

“Good.”

The ceremony went off without a hitch, and despite Beni's bored expression, all of the guests were enjoying themselves. The festivities went off without a hitch. The people danced as Beni watched his people celebrate from the temporary dias that was set up. The Hikeshi danced around and often brought Beni bottles of sake which he in turn poured cups for the guests as they spoke.

“This is a truly wonderful festival, Shinmon-Sama.” The representative of the Holy Sol Church greeted happily.

Beni nodded respectfully in reply and continued to watch Konro dance with the Hikeshi. “It is. Konro did an excellent job of organizing it.”

“You didn’t do these preparations yourself?”

“No, there is always something to do. I didn’t have the time.” The ‘I couldn’t be bothered’ sat heavily in the air between them.

“Hmph, of course. You were known as the King of Destruction before, correct?”

Beni nodded, not liking where the conversation was headed.

“Then certainly you had a queen?”

He took a long sip from his cup, emptying it in one go. “I have not the time for such frivolity.” Beni answered coldly.

“But isn’t Asakusa based in family and in connections?”

The newly appointed Shogun pointedly refilled his cup in silence. “There is more to life than lineage, Brother; as there is also much more to ruling a country than sitting back and siring children.” He glared at the church representative.

“Of course, I forget myself. I know not of war as you do.” The holy man placated. “But, there is always more to learn, especially about each other as we are now unified.”

Konro leaned forward to refill the representative’s cup. “Of course, I’d be happy to talk about the integration of cultures.”

Both Beni and the Brother sighed in relief, internally, with Konro’s appearance. There was a reason that Beni wanted Konro to take over as the next Master of Asakusa. It was settled that Beni would begrudgingly take the position as long as Konro was his second and would remain by his side. It was not a mystery to them that they worked better together.

No matter what hiccups occurred they could conquer anything together.
