Summary
The ocean breeze had numbed the fingertips of my left hand.Mafuyu’s breath fluttered across my cheek and through my ear.The tide crashed on the shore and its hums shook my skin. The waves could be seen as if they could’ve always been felt. They kept speaking in tones I knew not dearly.Mafuyu’s hand explored mine. She slid through my fingers and caressed the back of my hand, running circles near my wrist with her thumb. I had let myself melt into her, so she could speak to me.And she held me. Because I needed to be held.I had not felt fear like this in months. I had not felt so selfish since I broke my family apart.
