Chapter 9
Tanya walks down the hall and she reaches Eddie’s classroom and she sees the man is teaching but she knows that he needs to be informed of what has happened to Chris.
Tanya knocks on the door and enters the classroom.
“Sorry to interrupt Mr Diaz but I need a word with you” Tanya says.
Eddie looks at the headmistress and tells the class he will be back in a few minutes so they just focus on their worksheets in front of them.
Eddie walks out into the hallway and he turns and faces Tanya.
“Eddie, I just wanted to let you know that Chris has been sent home and we have found out he was being bullied,” Tanya says.
“What,Who was bullying him?” Eddie asks.
“It was an older student and he has already been dealt with,” Tanya says.
Eddie looks at his boss and he can't believe that his son was getting bullied and he didn't know what was happening or even notice that something was wrong.
“Eddie, go and phone Evan and speak with him. I'll cover your class until you get back” Tanya says.
“Thanks Tanya I appreciate it” Eddie says and walks off to his office where he will have some privacy.
When Eddie gets to his office and closes the door and sits down at his desk and he pulls out his phone and calls his husband.
It only took a few minutes for the call to connect and he hears his husband's voice on the other end of the phone.
“Hey baby I take it Tanya told you?” Buck asks.
“Yeah she did and I'm in my office so I have privacy” Eddie says.
“That's good and I spoke to Chris and he told me everything that happened and I have spoken to your parents and they reminded me that sometimes Chris may not come to us but it doesn't mean we aren't doing a great job at raising him” Buck says.
“I'm glad that he is ok and thank god my parents gave such good advice” Eddie says.
“Yeah. Look me and Chris are at your parents place as when we got back someone broke in and Chris called mum and she and Elaine arrived and took the person away but we can't be there for a few days” Buck says.
Eddie is once again shocked and he thinks to himself that God up stairs is playing a joke on him.
“Did this person hurt you or Chris?” Eddie asks.
“Don't worry we are both fine” Buck says.
“I'm glad I need to get back and I'm guessing your at my parents house” Eddie says.
“Yes we are and ok I'll see you when you get here” Buck says.
“I love you Evan” Eddie says.
“I love you too Edmundo” Buck says and hangs up.
Eddie doesn't really like his full name but when Buck uses it and it is said with so much love and affection.
Eddie looks at a photo on his desk and it is a picture of Chris and Buck and they are at the aquarium and they are both pulling funny faces and it makes Eddie realize how lucky he is to have met Buck all those years ago.
Eddie leaves his office and heads back to his classroom and when he gets there Tanya comes out and Eddie tells her what has happened and she tells him to go home and take a few days off work as he needs to be with his family and she knows that he is a great teacher and he never leaves them in the lurch so she is willing to allow him some leeway.
Eddie thanks her and heads back to his office and grabs his things and he calls an taxi to come pick him up.
Once the taxi has arrived at his parents house Eddie gets out and he pays the man and heads inside his parents house.
“Hey guys it's just me” Eddie calls out.
“Daddy” Chris says and he comes to greet his dad.
“Hey buddy, how are you doing?” Eddie asks.
“I'm OK I'm sorry i didn't tell you and Papa about what was going on” Chris says.
“Chris you don't need to be sorry it's me and your Papa that are sorry as we should've paid more attention to you and I have a few days off work so me and you can spend loads of time together” Eddie says.
“Yay we can do loads of fun things and you can watch The Tribe and Power Rangers Time Force with me” Chris says getting excited to spend some alone time with his dad.
“I can't wait,” Eddie says.
“Can't wait for what?” Buck asks as he comes into the room.
“To spend time with my superman and see what the mall rats get up to” Eddie says.
“Me and daddy are going to spend loads of time together as he has a few days off work” Chris says.
“That's good” Buck says giving Eddie a kiss on the cheek.
“Eddie sweetie, why are you home so early?” Helena asks.
“My boss said I could leave early and take a few days off from work” Eddie says.
“That's good and you guys are staying here no arguments do you hear me” Helena says as she goes and starts the cooking for dinner.
Eddie and Buck know to never argue with Helena when she is in full mum mode and they love that she cares about them.
Dinner at the Diaz household is a lot of fun and everyone is having a good time and Buck and and Eddie have decided to worry about the stranger tomorrow as right now they are having a nice night.
Athena finishes work and gets changed and heads out of the station and she can't wait to go home and relax.
When Athena arrives home she sees that Bobby is home and she needs to tell him what's happened and she knows that he is going to be angry.
“Hey honey it's just me” Athena says as she closes the door.
“Hey sweetheart” Bobby says as he comes into the lounge.
“Listen we need to talk and what I'm going to say you are not going to like” Athena says.
“Athena you're scaring me” Bobby says.
Athena sits Bobby down and she tells him everything and Bobby is getting angrier and angrier with each word she says.
Once Athena has finished Bobby is already up and pacing around the couch and Athena sits there and lets the man process everything.
“Athena, how could you lie to Evan like that?” Bobby asks and his tone of voice shows the anger in it.
“Bobby I didn't mean to honestly I didn't” Athena says.
“That's not the point and you know it” Bobby says.
“When I went to tell him I saw that he was happy and he was keeping our grandson safe and I thought how I have to be the one to crush that boys happiness and tell him that his vile sister is now back in his life and the mum part of me just took over” Athena says.
Bobby looks at his wife and he can see that she regrets lying to their son but they agreed to never lie to each other no matter what and Athena has just broken that rule.
“Athena I'm not happy but I will stand by you when you tell Evan but it is going to take a few days for me to forgive you” Bobby says and he walks away.
Athena knew she would get that reaction from Bobby and she understands him and she knows that she has broken the trust Buck will have in her.
A few hours later just Athena is going to bed with Bobby she goes to get her phone that is changing in the kitchen and pulls up her sons contract information and sends him a text asking to meet him tomorrow at home and Buck sends a text back says he can meet her at 12 pm and Athena says that's great and see him tomorrow and she goes to bed.
