Chapter 5
Buck and Eddie had been dating for a whole month now and it was time to introduce Eddie and Chris and the whole Diaz clan to his parents so when he phoned Bobby and asked if he had any time off his dad said he can take a week of at the beginning of June and his mother can do the same.
The first week of June was here and so was the day Eddie was going to meet his boyfriend's parents and he was a nervous wreck.
Buck found it funny that his boyfriend was stressed out about his mum and dad coming to El Paso and meeting them but Buck told him that they will love him and Christopher too.
Eddie knew he was overreacting they way Buck spoke about his parents made them sound like great people and they had big hearts but Eddie was worried and no matter what he was told if he couldn't get his boyfriends parents to like him than the relationship was doomed as Eddie and his family were very big on the fact if the in laws liked you then your relationship will stand the test of time.
Christopher was excited to meet the people who his Bucky called mum and dad as he heard his dad and his Buck talking about it the other night and little Christopher couldn't wait to meet them and he was going to tell them how his Bucky saved him and how he is the greatest person ever and he will call them grams and gramps.
The day Eddie was meeting Buck's parents arrived and what better way than to have a party at the Diaz household.
Buck went to go and get his mum and dad from the airport and that in itself was hard as Christopher wanted to go with him but Buck said that he will be back soon but Christopher didn't like that and cried when Buck left and was not in a good mood at all.
Eddie knew that Christopher was just scared that Buck would leave after what had happened to him so Eddie asked his parents if he should maybe get his son a therapist so it will help him.
Both Helena and Ramon said hold off on that as it could be that Christopher just needs to see that even though Buck is not here doesn't mean that he won't come back.
Athena and Bobby were excited to see their son and when he said he would meet them at the airport that made it better as they would get to spend time with him and go to a cafe and just catch up on things and enjoy seeing him in person for the first time in two years.
When Buck got to the airport and told his parents that they were going to a party and that he wanted them to meet the Diaz's. Bobby and Athena were unsure as they didn't want to crash the party as they way it sounded it was family only but Buck said it's fine don't worry.
When all three adults got to the Diaz house Athena and Bobby were going to knock and wait to be escorted in by one of the family members but when Buck pulled out a key and opened the door and walked in they were surprised but they followed him in and they walked out into the garden where their stood a tall man with brown hair and brown eyes and he was holding a toddler who had blonde curly-hair and red glasses that looked specially ordered to make them fit him but did look cute and Bobby and Athena figured this was little Christopher.
Buck stood next to his boyfriend and took Christopher from him and cleared his throat to get his parents attention.
" Mum and dad, this is my boyfriend Eddie Diaz and his son Christopher." Buck says
"Mr and Mrs Grant Nash it's an honor to meet you" Eddie says, holding out his hand to them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Eddie I'm guessing it's short for Edmundo" Bobby says shaking his hand.
"Yes it is" Eddie says
"Pleasure to meet you Eddie" Athena says, choosing not to shake his hand but give him a hug instead.
"Mum and dad this is also Mr and Mrs Diaz Eddie parents" Buck says
"Buck it's Ramon and Helena none of that Mr and Mrs Diaz crap" Ramon says
"Yes your family we don't need to act all formally" Helena says
Bobby and Athena are surprised at how fast Buck has been taken in by the Diaz clan and they are just happy that their son has found his person.
"Helena and Ramon it's a pleasure to meet you and Buck told us how he met you" Bobby says
"Well I had too after May jumped to the wrong conclusion" Buck says
"His sister thought Buck was in the hospital and went against the number one rule we have" Athena says
"What rule is that?" Ramon asks
"That Buck always informed us that he is in hospital no matter how small the situation is or how big it is" Bobby says
"That's a good rule and I'm sorry your daughter got confused as I'm sure she heard my voice saying to your son that the doctors had an update so I do hope I didn't worry her" Ramon says
"Honestly it's fine once we heard from Buck she calmed down and truth be told so did we and Buck May says you owe her a new Gucci bag" Bobby says
"Yeah she will have to work hard for those kind of designer bags" Buck says
Buck may have the money but he firmly believes in hard work and the rewards pay for themselves.
"Well let's get this party started" Ramon says
The party is I'm full swing and Bobby and Athena have taken Christopher into their hearts and have even picked up when he goes over to them and tells them how he met his Buck.
After a while Chris starts to squirm and get agitated and Buck knows he is becoming cranky and it's time for his nap.
"Come here Mr cranky" Buck says, holding out his arms for his mum to put Chris into them.
"He is so like you" Eddie says giving Buck a kiss on the cheek
"I'll have you know I was never a Mr cranky pants" Buck says
Everyone laughs at that and Buck just lets them as he walks off to put Chris down for an hour.
While Buck is putting Chris down for his nap Athena and Bobby mingle with the other Diaz family members.
While Bobby and Athena are talking to Eddie's parents they hear both his sisters talking to their husbands about how Buck is paying for everything and Eddie is one lucky man to bag someone who has money and just spends it all on then no questions asked.
Both Bobby and Athena don't like this so they go up to them.
"Excuse me, what do you mean my son is paying for everything?" Athena asks
Adriana Diaz and Sophia Diaz both look at each other and hope that what they said Buck's parents didn't take it the wrong way.
We just meant that Buck has a huge heart and Eddie doesn't have to stress out about paying Chris's medical bills that's all" Sophia says
"It didn't sound like that it sounded like you think my son is just to be used for his money and that's all" Bobby says
Eddie comes over and tries his best to reassure Bobby and Athena that Buck is not being used for his money and that he is genuinely loved by his family and his parents agree.
"Right, so why is he paying for your son when it should be you?" Bobby asks
"Mr Nash you are wrong Buck is much Christopher's dad as much as I am and I know my family feel the same way and I have tried to get Evan to let me pay but he said he wants to do this and he is a very stubborn person" Eddie says
Bobby and Athena know their son can be stubborn and it's clear that Buck loves Christopher as his own so maybe they did overreact.
"We're sorry we didn't meant to have a go it's just Buck has a huge heart that people take advantage of and sometimes Buck let's them" Bobby says
"Bobby we understand and we would never do that and what Eddie said is true your son has been more of a parent than his actual mother" Ramon says
"We see Buck has part of our family and we know he loves our grandson like he is his own child and that's all we can ask for" Helena says
"Thank you, Evan had a rough start in life. I don’t know if he told you much about his biological parents and how we came to have him?" Athena asks
Everyone shakes their head saying no they don't know anything.
"Actually Buck told me on our first date about his biological parents" Eddie says
"Then you understand how productive we are of him?" Athena asks
"I do but I won't hurt him and I will prove that to you both" Eddie says
"I'll hold you to that" Bobby says
Buck comes back out into the garden and he has the baby monitor with him and Athena and Bobby can tell their son has found a family and they can't wait to spoil their grandson and get to know their future son in law.
After the minor blow up everyone gets on so well and Eddie is glad that his boyfriend's parents accept him and Christopher and Eddie think about how something so scary as his son getting hurt actually turns into Eddie meeting the man of his dreams and having this family.
A few hours later and the party is coming to an end and everyone is leaving Buck thanks his parents for being nice to Eddie and he knows that they found out about him paying for Christopher's medical bills but he says that he wants to do it and he loves both Eddie and Chris with all his heart so can they trust him.
Bobby and Athena tell their son they do trust him but they will always worry about him.
Eddie thanks his boyfriend's parents for coming and he hopes they like him and they do like him but Eddie better not hurt Buck.
Athena and Bobby wave goodbye to everyone and head to their hotel as they know their son is staying at his boyfriend's house and they look at eachother and think when Eddie will ask them for their permission to marry their son.
