Introduction
For future reference just to make my life a little easier I have made the events of top gun 1 and 2 earlier so it can fit with the timeline of things.
So instead of Maverick being 23 like the original movie I am making him only just turn 20 about a month before he got into top gun. I am also making the 30-year gap in between the two (2) movies only around 20.
To make it easier:
1986=top gun 1= Maverick is 20
2017 = top gun Maverick = Maverick is 44
Captain American civil War = 2016
so, this book will be a year after civil war and another year before the next big bad that is coming.

After the Director left, the still unknown person along with him, it did not take long before someone started talking.
” Right, now that the pirate is gone let’s get introductions done so we can get out of this stuffy meeting room. I’ll go first, even if you all already know me.”
Stark walks over to Maverick and holds his hand out.
” Tony Stark, genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist. You?”
” Captain Pete Mitchell, callsign Maverick”
Maverick takes his hand from behind his back and politely shakes hands before the next person speaks.
“Colonel James Rhodes, most call me Rhodey. It’s an honour to meet you sir.”
Maverick turns and shakes the Colonel’s hand, “Maverick is fine.”
” In that case call me call me James or Rhodey which ever you prefer.”
The next person steps forward to introduce themselves was was Captain American.
” Colonel Steve Rogers, Steve is fine."
Hawkeye was next.
"Agent Clint Barton. Clint is fine."
That left Black Widow.
There was a moment of hesitation when Clint turned to the red-haired spy.
"Come on Nat, we'll be getting to know them for the next two months. We might as well tell them out names."
There was still hesitation before she said.
"Natalia."
"Nat"
By the reaction and the hesitation not to mention that they are spy's Maverick could collect the dots.
"If Ms Widow doesn't want to tell me their name that's fine. I can just call you Natalia if you are comfortable with that." there was a silence after that then a roaring laughter Stark, Clint as well but not loud. They both earn themselves a elbow to the ribs. ‘Natalia’ smirks in satisfaction before looking over a Maverick again.
“Just call me Nat for now, no ‘Ms Widow’ business got it”
“Yes mam.”
Rogers was the next to speak surprisingly,
” How about we meet the others in your team Captain Mitchell?”
” And leave the formalities at the door while we’re at it” Stark quickly added.
Maverick, of course, nods in approval.
”Right well follow me.”
