An Interesting Devlmepet
Two Years Later: After the Events of CA: WS( with some modifications to the story{ I.E someone else being the Asset and A really BAFF Bucky who literally snipped him down in the first half}, but I am not writing that at this time)
They say that Love holds the key to many things a fact that hadn't gone over Steve's head, even as he took down HYDRA for the second time in his life. He sighed as he drove up to the Avengers Tower and sighed to himself. Some things didn't change and yet others did.
Once he parked his bike he walked into the elevator and pressed the button for the leave he and Bucky live on as he thought about the air force veteran he had met, Sam Wilson. He had helped him and Natasha take down HYDRA. He'd gotten his number and had talked to him about joining the avengers sometime. He'll have to talk to Tony but it was almost a given.
April 28th, 2015, Sokovia
Bucky couldn't believe he allowed Steve to talk him into this rode behind Steve towards a HYDRA base. He heard Tony curse," Shit."
Despite the situation, Bucky had to laugh as Steve chastised the Millionaire," Language!"
"JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" Bucky asked as He shot down a snipper from one of the trees and The Hulk raced past them. The AI informed the team," The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other Hydra base we've taken."
Bucky heard Thor answer," Loki's sceptre must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defence without it. At long last."
Jumping off the motorbike Bucky flicked an electroshock disk at a HYDRA goon as Nat hissed," At long last is lasting a little long, boys."
Clint chuckled as he said," Yeah, I think we lost the element of surprise."
"Wait a second, no one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said 'Language?" Tony as he hit a couple of goons with his repulsers. Steve sighed as he flicked his bike at some of the soldiers," I know, it just slipped out."
Inside the fort, two young adults stood by as Strucker inquired from his underlings," Who gave the order to attack?"
One of the many unnamed soldiers answered a bit shakenly," Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers. They landed in the far woods, the perimeter guard panicked."
Strucker turned to List and whispered to him," They have to be after the sceptre," then turned back to the soldier," Can we hold them?"
"They are the Avengers!" The man yelped. Strucker glared as he commanded," Deploy the rest of the Tanks. Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit can make them close ranks."
He turned once again to Dr List as he complained," Everything we've accomplished. But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."
"Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins," List suggested. The two Twins looked up somewhat hopefully but Strucker dismissed the Idea," It's too soon."
List helpfully reminded him," It's what they signed up for."
Strucker growled at the scientist," My men can hold them."
A blue blur dashed past and around Bucky and he growled under his breath," If this Pet I am going to have a talk with Charlies and Eric when we get back."
However, he was reminded of the charcoal drawing he had done on the way to Slovenia and cursed as he switched out his mundane casings for his enhanced ones and called out," Everyone watch you're clocks. They have enhanced. Looks like Pet's powers."
"How is that possible?" Tony asked him. Bucky frowned," I'll ask later yeah?"
The Supersoldier-mutant jumped up on a closed tank and scanned the woods for his target. He saw Clint trying to get rid of a bunker and a blur of blue heading toward him. He cocked his gun and stared down at the enhanced and pulled the trigger.
Pietro tripped as he stumbled to a standstill shocking Clint enough that he got hit. Bucky cursed in Norwegian as Nat alerted the others," Clint's hit."
"Yeah... I saw. Thor watch Steve's back, I'm go'ng to talk with our new friend," Bucky asked before Steve told Tony," Stark, We really need to get inside."
" I'm closing in," Tony told his team before asking JARVIS," JARVIS, am I...closing in? Do you see a power source for that shield?"
As always the AI butler replied," There's a pathway below the north tower."
"Great, I wanna poke it with something."
While that happened Bucky had reached Nat, Clint and the Enhanced he looked at him as Nat asked," Somebody want to deal with that bunker?"
The Hulk jumped into it and Bucky glanced at the white-haired man as he asked," So... Mutant or enhanced?"
"There is no difference," He answered. Bucky raised his eyebrows and whistled. An albatross landed next to him and he whistled a tune before he flew off just as Tony told them," Drawbridge is down, people."
Bucky nodded, "Clint's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac," as he hit a button on his belt and his enhanced casing tore from Pietro's heel and the speedster growled as he ran towards the fort. Nat looked at him as she whispered," Why did you do that?"
Before Bucky could answer Thor told them," I can get Barton to the jet. The sooner we're gone the better, Barns, Rogers and Stark should secure the sceptre."
"Uhh, no Bucks going with you guys, I almost lost him once to HYDRA I am letting him in another HYDRA base if I can help it," Steve said. Bucky appreciated the sentiment as he heard the Hammer-Shield boom and Thor say into the comms," Find the sceptre."
" And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Tony snarked at Steve. Bucky laughed as he told Steve," I don't think that's going away anytime soon."
Once Tony found List and knocked him out he stepped out of the Iron Man suit and whispered," Sentry mode," as he walked over to the computers. He then told JARVIS," Okay, JARVIS. You know I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ."
As the AI downloaded the files Bucky pulled out the communicator Hank had given him for his last birthday( He and Steve actually celebrated two birthdays. One was their actual birthday while Buck's second one was to celebrate the day that Erik legally adopted him{ about three to four months after the events of Future Past happened} while Steve celebrated the day he woke up) and dialled one of the eight contacts on as Nat told the others," We're locked down out here."
"Then get to Banner, time for a lullaby," Steve sighed. Bucky hummed as he walked over to Banner and Nat as she then whispered saung Come Little Children under her breath but loud enough for The Hulk to hear. Inside the Fort, Tony looked around the room with the computers and hummed to himself," I know you're hiding more than files. Hey, J, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick."
JARVIS answered," The wall to your left, I'm reading steel reinforcement and an air current."
Walking over to the wall he muttered to himself," Please be a secret door, please be a secret door, please be a secret door..." then pushed against it for the wall to open up. He smiled with childish glee as he giggled," Yay!"
While the Hulk changed down into Bruce, Bucky's communication went through to Eric. The German's voice answered," Hello?"
"Hey, it Bucky. Did Hank ever figure out how a dormant mutative gene could be activated without magical aid?" he asked as he helped get Bruce and Natasha in the Quin-Jet. The man on the other end answered," No... why what's happened?"
"Illegal Human-experiments with the sceptre from New York," Bucky explained quickly.
Inside the base, Steve had found Strucker and scoffed at the baron," Baron Strucker, HYDRA's number one thug."
"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD," Strucker corrected. Steve smirked as he countered," Well, then technically you're unemployed. Where's the Scepter?"
"Don't worry, I know when I'm beaten. You'll mention how I cooperated, I hope?" The german asked him. Steve chuckled, as he felt someone creep up behind him," I'll put it right under illegal human experimentation."
He turned around and flipped down the stairs as another Enhanced, this one a female, tried to push him down. She quickly left behind another set of doors to reunite with her brother. Steve took that time to warn the others as he knocked out Strucker," We have a second enhanced. Female, telekinetic powers. Do not engage. I also have Strucker."
Tony reported back to them," Yeah, I got...something bigger."
"Careful, Tony," Bucky warned over the comms. A warning was given a bit too late.
