Rise of the Dragon

The ground shifts suddenly, a huge wave of energy washes over the land sweeping away the world they knew and replacing it with the unfamiliar. It was odd, their pipboys showed that they were in fact still inside a Song of Ice and Fire, however, something was clearly wrong. Kai and Cannibal looked around to see their companions were gone with the wind. There were no unsullied, no dothraki, no dragons, and no Danaerys. They stood alone together on the shore of the blackwater.

“What the fuck just happened?” Kai turned her eyes on her sister hoping for an answer.

“I’m not sure, I want to say the world had to reload.”

“Why would the world have to reload?” She looked at her hopelessly.

“I’m not sure, but we need to get to the bottom of this.” Cannibal opened up her pipboy for information. The map seemed normal and their mission objective remained the same. The only strange thing was the date, they were back in the same year as when they first spawned into the world, only they weren’t in Qarth

They walked up the sands and eventually found their way into Kings Landing. The city smelled like a cesspool and seemed to be extremely overcrowded. Staying close together, they pushed their way through the thick crowd. Everyone seemed to be headed in the same direction towards the dragon pit. The masses gathered and stood in hushed whispers. Standing on a platform was Prince Viserys Targaryen, and Sansa Stark. She appeared to be miserable standing at his side. He placed a kiss upon her lips and raised his hand to silence the crowd. He announced that Kings Landing would be participating in its monthly Lottery. Cannibal whispered to someone near her in the crowd, she recognized him as a faceless man. “This lottery, what is it?”

“A Girl must be new to Westeros. King Viserys, along with most other lords, gather the masses to randomly select a sacrifice. Every month someone is given to the Night Generals to keep peace and appease the Nightking. It's a truce he established a few years ago that the ice creatures have honored.”

“Why is Winter here so early?”

“It has been winter for over a hundred years.”

“I need to catch up on Westeros history. Things aren’t as I remember them. Why does Viserys sit on the Iron throne? Why is Sansa Stark not in Winterfell? Where are her siblings? Where are the Lannisters?”

“A Girl should visit the Citadel in Old Town to read up on history.”

“One more question: You are No One, if a faceless man is here, someone is to die. Is it the Queen?”

He turned to face me. “Who are you?”

Cannibal smiled and glanced over at Kai, “We are no one.”

He eyed her, “A man is not here for the Queen, a man is here for a Princess.”

“Danaerys.”

“Yes.”

“Danaerys’ life is not yours to take. I’m here for Danaerys.”

“It seems an issue has arisen.”

“Or an opportunity. Ensure that her security is dealt with when night comes, a girl will handle it from there. We both will get what we came for tonight.”

“A Man has already handled it.”

Silence filled the pit when Danaerys won the lottery as the next sacrifice, a gift to the White Walker General beyond King's Landing's stone wall. The King whispered to Danaerys then announced that tonight there would be a feast in honor of his sister's sacrifice and then she would be sent to the Gods.

Cannibal took Kais hand and they quickly escaped the thick crowd of the pit before the large doors had time to become congested with traffic.

“Do you have a plan?”

“Bet ya ass I do. We’re gonna slip into the Keep and rescue Danaerys.” Cannibal peered around, “Afterwards we’re heading to Old Town to read some history because this shit is fucked. I’ll clear our way through the undead after we steal a ride…like a wagon or something.”

“I forgot about the zombies. Wow, good thing you're a necromancer, or this mission might be impossible. What's the plan for the white walker general?”

“I’ll figure it out.” Cannibal smiled, “It's why I maxed out on luck. To ensure the odds are ever in our favor.”

“What happens if your luck runs out?” Kai asked.

“I have a few other tricks up my sleeve.”

They made their way to the keep while everyone was still inside the pit. They slipped in without anyone noticing and wandered around. They had to establish at least three exit routes once shit gets started. Brandon Stark wheeled around the corner being pushed by Theon Greyjoy.

“You’re hair…Are you a Targeryen?”

SHIT! Cannibal had forgotten all about her avatar's hair.

“Targaryens aren’t the only House of Valyrian blood Theon.” Brandon spoke in a monotone voice.

“Who are you?” Theon asked.

“She was sent to us. They’re here to help.” Brandon said unblinking.

The Royal family entered the Keep surrounded by the KingsGuard. Cannibal recognized Ser Sandor Clegane ‘the Hound’ cruising behind Sansa. Kai looked to her sister, “What do we do?”

“We’re gonna remain calmer than a baby on its mothers tit.” Cannibal replied.

King Viserys eyed Cannibal and Kai. “I don’t recognize you two.”

“They’re my guests.” Brandon said. “They will bring light to these troubling times.

“Well ‘Light Bringers’ what could you possibly offer besides cunt or a prayer.” Viserys  laughed.

Kai and Cannibal looked at eachother. “The Lord of Light sent us.”

“Yes. We are…the vessels of his desires. My sister and I have travelled a long way to tell you we had a vision of a prosperous Realm. A Realm without an undead horde and a united Kingdom.”

“Impossible.” Viserys spat.

Cannibal remained calm. “It's true, we’ve seen it in the flames. The Lord of Light promises a dārilaros will bring an end to this long winter. Aegon the Conqueror was given the same vision, he inscribed it on his blade.”

“There are no inscriptions on the blade.” Viserys scoffed.

“You must put it in the flames to reveal the inscription that was given to him by the Lord of Light.”

The King whipped out the dagger and ordered someone to bring him a torch. Once heated the words were revealed. Viserys stood in awe. “How did you know this?”

“The Lord of Light revealed it to me long ago. I saw it in the flames as well.” She spoke more confidently.

“Well your God must be wrong, I am a King. Not a prince.”

“The Gods will give the realm with a dārilaros tonight. I vow it or you may slit my throat.”

Kai looked over at her as if to say ‘Now hold on a minute’.

Fearful Sansa held her stomach and backed away. Viserys smiled. “You can guarantee my wife will give me a son.”

“I said what I said.” She said.

“What does God ask for in return?” The Hound asked.

“The Lord of Light requires the Sacrifice of a Targaryen and three dragon eggs turned to stone by the ages.  One Targaryen must fall for another to rise.” Cannibal looked at Danny. “You’re gonna have to find a new sacrifice for the white walkers. Danaerys belongs to the Lord of Light.”

Everyone shifted uncomfortably. Brandon spoke up, “I know some of you have your doubts, but this is the only way.”

The Hound let out a heavy sigh and looked away, “You witches always have an excuse to spill innocent blood.”

“Say another word to our guests and I’ll have your tongue cut out. Let us feast so that my sister does not pass on an empty stomach. Find a random peasant in the dungeon and serve them to the creatures in her place.”

Night fell on King's Landing and the Red Keep came to life. The King held a banquet to celebrate the successful lottery and another month of safety from the long night. Cannibal eyed Jaqen H’ghar the faceless man from across the room. Their eyes locked, he was wearing the armor of a Gold Cloak now.

Sansa sat next to her husband the King, pretending to care about the mind numbing conversation he was engaged in. Danaerys sat quietly, her sad eyes stared into space. Cannibal could sense everyone was against the idea of their beloved princess being harmed. She crossed her fingers.

When the meal ended, Brandon had Theon fetch her 3 eggs. Reluctantly, everyone headed outside into the courtyard where a stake had already been prepared.

The Hound sighed heavily and turned away. He couldn’t dare watch. A Gold Cloak reluctantly tied Danaerys to the post, apologizing under his breath. She gave a small smile and looked away.

Viserys eagerly grabbed a torch. Brandon reached for his sister's hand, “Have faith.”

“How can I have faith in her god or any god when they’ve allowed the world to go to shit.”

“I know this isn’t easy, but it must be done.”

“Danaerys is a good person, she doesn’t deserve to die. I’d rather she’d have been given to the walkers and weights.” Sansa retorted in an agitated whisper.

Cannibal took the eggs then approached Danaerys. She dropped her voice to a whisper. “When this is over you will be stronger than ever.”

“When this is over I will be nothing, just another corpse.” She tried to put on a brave face, but the stench of fear clung to her and perfuming the air.

“All men must die Danaerys, but you are not a man nor are you a King. You will be reborn by the flames and arise as what you truly are: a Dragon.”

“My brother is the dragon, it is why everyone is afraid to anger him and awaken it.” she said.

Cannibal stepped away and allowed Viserys to toss the torch at her feet.

Ser Jorah drew his sword and rushed to her aid, “I CAN’T ALLOW THIS MADNESS TO CONTINUE.”

Believing in his cause, a few others drew their swords as well, rushing to protect their precious princess.

“TRAITORS! I’LL HAVE YOUR HEADS ON SPIKES” The King screamed.

A few soldiers moved to follow the King's order. The Hound instinctually moved to protect Sansa.

The King stood by Danaerys' side and watched the flames grow. Cannibal glanced at Kai and gave her a nod. Cannibal backed away and spoke to the crowd. “Behold.”

Danaerys opened her eyes when she realized she’d already been torched. The smoke assaulted her nose causing her to sneeze a bit, but she felt fine. She looked down at herself to see she was completely unharmed. The flames danced on her skin with butterfly-like sensations. She turned her eyes to Cannibal.

Viserys' smile dropped. “What form of trickery is this! Why is she not burning?”

Everyone stopped and stared.

“The Lord of Light promised a dārilaros. I never said it would be sired by you.” Cannibal smiled.

“You said a Targaryen had to fall for another to rise! Your god demanded a sacrifice!”

“You’re correct. A sacrifice will be made.” Bran the Broken Stark signaled for Theon and a Gold Cloak to apprehend Viserys.

“UNHAND ME!”

Kai melts down his crown and offers the molten concoction to the Hound. He is hesitant at first due to his fear of fire, but accepts the hot pot of gold. He stands before the King who is now begging for his life.

“You shouldn’t see this, little Dove.” The Hound suggested.

“I haven’t been a little dove since Viserys took me from my home, killed my family and scattered what was left in the wind.”

“I AM YOUR KING!”

“Fuck the King.” He pours the gold over Viserys’ head and tosses the empty pot.

Brandon wheeled in to check on his sister, his empty expression just barely broke into a smile. “I told you to have faith. I knew our champions would come.”

Kai approached Sansa, “I hope one day you can trust us. If there was another way to save the princess and show her her destiny we’d have done it…but the less drastic way would have taken too long.”

The screeches of baby dragons filled the night. Everyone gasped when Danaerys emerged from the flames unharmed.

Ser Jorah ran up to her, “You’re unscathed. How is this possible?”

Danaeys locked eyes with Cannibal, “Because fire can not harm a dragon.”

Cannibal approached Queen Sansa. “The winds of winter will continue to ravage this world until a song of ice and fire is completed. To do that I must bring together a Targaryen born of fire and blood and a Targaryen born of ice and snow.” Cannibal smiled at Sansa, “I know it's a bit soon, but I need you to trust me. Kai and I are leaving to fix the world so that the rightful heirs sit the throne. To do that we will have to find Jon Snow, do you know his whereabouts?”

“Jon Snow? My bastard brother is a Targaryen?” She raised her brows.

“Yes.”

“The Gods have a sense of humor.” She sighed, “Jon is in Dorne in Lemonwood with Young Griff. I warn you, they have built a formidable alliance there and don’t take kindly to strangers.”

Cannibal looked back at her sister, “Well we will be extra careful then. Can’t get Danny killed before they can fall in love and conquer the forces of evil together.”

Sansa sighed, “I wish you luck on your endeavors. Is there anything I can do to aid you in your quest?”

Everyone looked up to see a red comet streaking across the sky. Cannibal smiled. “Actually there is. I need two containers of dragon blood and a carriage or a caravan. I’m heading to Old Town soon.”

“How do you plan on getting past all of the undead?”

Brandon stared at Cannibal, “She is a commander of death. So far from the Night King in the North, they will easily bend to her will. Since he received his monthly sacrifice, the General positioned here will let her pass.”

“We will meet again after Old tow–Wait a damn minute! Bran you can just give me a tour of the changed history and save me a trip to Old Town.”

“I could, but then you wouldn’t meet Tyrion.”

“Why is Tyrion in Old Town instead of Casterly Rock?”

“Maester Tyrion and Grand Maester Samwell Tarly find comfort in the scripture during these dark times. It is essential that you meet them.”

“HE'S A MAESTER! You know what…is there anything else I need to know? I know there's gotta be some extra bullshit. What is it?”

“Balance must always be maintained. In every world and every reality the Elements of Harmony and Virtue exist in case the balance is disturbed. Usually the elements are objects, but in some worlds such as this one they are people. You must bring them all together and embrace their element if we are to win.”

“ELEMENTS OF HARMONY?” Kai made a face, “They don’t happen to be Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic do they?”

“Ah you’re familiar with them. Good.” Bran spoke.

Cannibal crossed her arms, “How will I know who is an element and which one they represent?”

“I will tell you and…” Brandon reached out his hand, “I will share a fraction of my power with you. When you are near an element, you will feel it. It will make collecting them easier.”

She took his hand, a rush of power and information washed over her body. *New Skills available.* She checked her pipboy. She now possesses Elemental Locator, Skill Share, and something called vessel. “Woah.”

“Now, about the elements…” Bran began.
