"It wasn't scary, it just left my mind a bit messed up" Valerie replied to her best friend, Astrid. They were at Starbucks drinking their hot chocolate and talking about random things and life, "It was disturbing, that's literally the definition for Midsommar, but honestly, did you seriously watch it? You are like the easiest person to scare"
"Oh, shut up, I don't care how scary the film was, I had Florence Pugh's face on my TV for two hours"
"Friend you are way too obsessed with her, and I don't know why, you are probably never going to meet her".
They were so different, but they complimented each other perfectly, as best friends. Valerie was a complete FREAK, she was obsessed with Marvel, Harry Potter and had a serious problem with actresses in general. Also, she got obsessed with things so easily, and her recent obsession was Florence Pugh, the British, blonde, funny actress. Astrid was not the opposite but different. She liked real life, I mean she obviously liked movies, books, series... But she preferred being in the real world, not dreaming in fantasy and fictional universes like Valerie did, and she sometimes could get worried about her friend because she felt too much the films and loved actresses too much who don't even know about her existence.
"I know, but it just that she is extremely talented, and also gorgeous" The girl with blue eyes defended herself, even if she knew that she maybe sounded a bit crazy, "I know I might be a bit obsessed and that I recently just finished watching her entire filmography, but in my defence I will say that I was not able to watch Malevolent... It's more horror film like than Midsoomar was'', she tried to give Astrid a proper argument not knowing that her friend just loved how her best friend rambled about the things she liked, and also she enjoyed teasing her and see how her friend got frustrated trying to explain her point of view, "I know don't worry, I just want for you to stay in the real world, and perhaps put a photo of us as your lock screen and not a picture of Florence... Val you have the same photo of her for three months now" Astrid said trying to convince her friend to change the photo of the blond actress, just winning that her friend stuck her tongue out at her in a fun way, "Astrid please I'm never changing that photo, and I will only change it when I have a picture of her with me... Seriously, thank you for worrying about me, you're like my reminder that I don't live in Hogwarts, I love you"
"I love you too". And like that they just keep talking and talking.

Valerie had a simple life, you may even call it boring, at least when she was a teenager. In high school she wasn't the most social person, although it was not her entire fault, people hadn't been truly nice with her. Except Astrid who she met in the last year of high school and was the one who stayed with her no matter what.
Her parents were divorced, but she had a pretty good relation with both of them, her dad lived in Scotland and her mother lived in London as Valerie and Astrid did. She also had a brother, he lived in New York, but they didn't have quite a good relationship, her brother was a bit homophobic, which was a problem, knowing about how Valerie felt about girls.
She loved music, and according to what her best friend said she was a pretty good singer, and could play the piano so well. They both had an excellent taste in music. By the way they lived together, and loved playing Olivia Rodrigo at the maximum volume, bothering the neighbours but let's be honest "Good 4 u" was way more important.

They decided to get back home and while they were driving back in the car they decided to put their favourite album for the moment, "You betrayed be, and I know that you'll never feel sorry, for the way I hurt", Astrid was singing too powerfully to even notice that the black haired girl was trying to hold back some of the tears that started forming on her blue eyes, that song was really painful because it brought back some awful moments of her past love life, which basically was just one girl, but she got out really hurt.
When Astrid noticed that she immediately turned the song down and stared at her best friend who had a bittersweet smile in her face while driving, "Val, seriously? It was a long time ago, and even if it was yesterday she does not deserve your tears"
"I know As, but I don't know, this song reminds me of her. Although I think I know a way to make me feel better- What if we have a girl night, we order Chinese food, and we maybe watch Little Women. If we do that I will definitely be better" Her friend shook her head, smiling and thinking about how smart was her best friend, "First, we practically have a girl's night every day, we live together, but if you want, and you promise me you won't say every single quote, we can do it" The both of them laughed knowing what was the answer "You know I can't promise you that" Valerie said it in a serious way, but Astrid also said it just mocking her best friend.
