The Final Stand
It was the greatest confrontation that their county had seen since the Union went up against Manwol. Tensions were high as long awaited matches were fought, and amidst the chaos Donald Na stared down, watching them fight like a king on his throne. Despite Wolf’s betrayal to side with Eunjang, everything seemed evenly matched. But, the Union was winning.
The Eunjang students were losing hope that Grey was going to save Ben in time. Then, the sound of an engine was getting closer. It started out softly, the only ones realizing it were those who were in their own fight. The sound attenuation finally allowed for the collective to hear. Eunjang rallied. Grey had done it. And Kingsley? All he could do was stare on from where Donald had put him in time out.
Ben got off the bike after nuzzling Grey in thanks and called out to Donald. “Scared? Didn’t wanna fight or what?”
Their gazes met as everyone stilled to watch the interaction.
“I’m always up for a challenge. Kingsley just thought that he knew better.” Donald replied, walking down the stairs to descend on his opponent.
Grey scoffed while dismounting which caused the red head to chuckle then say. “Well, I’m here now.” He cracked his knuckles.
“You are.” Donald agreed.
The two strongest teens moved toward each other, and the collective parted. They met in the middle, fists swinging. It reminded the rest of them that they were also in a fight.
Wolf and Jake stared each other down. It wasn’t an easy fight for either of them, but the moment of reprieve, when the world stood still, ground Jake down. He was tired. Tired of the fighting. He could feel the exhaustion setting in. Wolf was only getting stronger as the fight continued then Teddy cried out. Jake jerked his head away in time to see Dongha drag the blonde off of Grape. This would be his fatal mistake. Wolf was annoyed he won because Jake was distracted. He supposed Dongha needed to be taught respect again. It would be fun.
Grey took out someone who was trying to attack his most beatly Alpha from behind. “Have you seen Gerrard, Wolf?”
“Yeah, he got fucked up by Jimmy Bae, but I was too wrapped up with Jake to fuck up the little psycho.” Wolf took out people as he walked towards Dongha. His next target seemed to be struggling with Teddy.
The Omega froze, his blood ran cold. He heard Wolf keep talking, but he couldn’t focus on the words. With a jerk, Grey looked around to find Jimmy. The teen was a walking dead man. He was so focused trying to spot his prey when he was moved by Wolf who took a hit in the shoulder from Jimmy.
“Isn’t attacking people from behing cowardly, Jimmy?” Wolf growled.
“Not my fault he wasn’t paying attention.” Jimmy scowled. “Too much for the little Omega?” The Beta jeered then got kicked hard, his knee buckled.
“Damn, I missed.” Grey said, eyes locked on Jimmy.
“Grey?” Wolf blinked. His sweet mate reeked of anger, and his bloodlust was clearing the area closest to them.
“Meant to break his leg.” The Omega clarified.
“You mother fucker!” Jimmy charged at him.
“Ah, well, have fun then.” Wolf said, walking away.
Grey neatly dodged Jimmy’s flurry of attacks. “Make Dongha regret being alive.”
“Of course.” Wolf said with a grin.
“Take me seriously!” Jimmy snarled as he tried to punch Grey in the face.
Grey caught the fist and twisted, causing the arm to pop out of its socket. “You talk too much.” He said softly before proceeding to basically take Jimmy apart.
A lot of the other students were spooked by the sounds of Jimmy’s screams and begs for mercy as Grey broke the other’s arm and leg. The orange head would never be able to fight again. Never face Grey again without the phantom pain running through him. The Omega’s savagery turned the tide of the battle as many of the weaker fighters ran off to not face him or have a chance to face him.
Donald frowned. “Quite the mate you have there.”
Ben smirked. “He gets vicious when we get hurt.” He responded before launching into another series of strikes. “Jimmy also just pisses him off with that ego of his as well.”
The blonde dodged the first two blows, but the third hit. “That’s fair, that little shit is annoying.” His counter strike failed to land. This battle was not looking good for him. Ben’s strikes hurt like a bitch, and his attacks seem to have no effect on the red head. It was hard to keep his cool while dread was welling up from the depths of his mind. It was not a feeling he felt often.
The scent of distressed Omega filled the area. Kingsley had stabbed Grey in the back. Then, the murderous aura doubled down. Many of the weaker fighters fell out in this moment. Donald saw his chance to strike and landed a heavy blow on the shorter male. He had a feeling that Kingsley might not make it out of this alive. Knives in a fist fight were also dirty.
He thought that the attack had some effect on Ben, but all he could see were red glowing eyes.
The battle was over. Ben and Wolf, in all of their dummy strong glory, cleaned house. Grey’s distressed scent lingered in their minds as they destroyed the Union. When the dust settled, the Union was on their knees before Eungjang, and they rejoiced. They were entering a new era of relative peace as Ben Park took his place as the strongest of them. They all helped each other home or to the hospital. The high school students rallied together knowing that it was done, and it was time to go home.
Ben and his friends went out to get Gerrard and Grey to the hospital, but they all ended up celebrating with food together in the Omega’s hospital room. Wolf and Hwangmo joined them with some sodas.
They celebrated friendship. They celebrated connection. The celebrated family. They celebrated for the peace to come. The celebrated for themsleves and each other.
And, Eungjang knew peace once again.
