Meeting Gwen Stacy
Meeting Gwen Stacy was by chance. It wasn't really supposed to happen.
What I mean is Gwen Stacy wasn't supposed to be a part of the Spider Society. She was just supposed to stay on Earth-65 with her dad but that was all messed up when a villain known as the Vulture showed up in her world causing havoc.
I know what you're thinking, 'What do you mean Rosa? There is a Vulture on Earth-65.' But this wasn't her Vulture. this Vulture was from a different dimension. Something we handle here at the Spider-Society is relocating anomalies back to their proper dimensions.
Anyways, I had just gotten to HQ after dropping off my siblings at their various extracurricular activities when Miguel and Jessica had gotten back. They had the newest anomaly with them in a special laser rope. I was about to go say hello when I noticed someone else with them and that is when Hobie came up to me with some coffee.
"Ello there love," Hobie said handing me my coffee. I grabbed it from him but didn't look away from the stranger that was with Miguel and Jessica. Hobie followed my gaze. "Who's that?" He asked expecting me to know.
"I have no idea. I'm about to find out though." After a moment of silence, I returned his greeting, "Also, hey." We begin to walk toward Miguel, Jessica, and the new person.
"Olá, Miguel. Who's this with you?" I ask him gesturing to the person next to Jessica. Miguel grumbled while looking at the person next to Jessica.
"Rosa Castro this is Gwen Stacy. She is the new recruit... I guess." Miguel mumbled the last part but I still heard him and by the way that Jessica hit Miguel in the shoulder so did she. "Help her get adjusted then come see me, Rosa." I nodded at him as he walked off with Jessica and LYLA, who was telling him about some other anomaly. I look at Gwen Stacy. She is about 5'7, she has blonde hair that has faded pink tips, and her hair is shaved on her right side but long on the left. Her suit has two colors, the black part looks similar to a dress with th white part being what the skin would be. She is also wearing her signature teal ballet slippers.
"So what's your story, Gwen?" Hobie asks as the new girl fidgets with her hair.
"Well, I-" Then she tells Hobie and me all about her story which all of you have already heard before. She got bit, had practically one friend, he died, she got blamed for said death, she became more closed off to everyone, yada, yada, yada. We then show her around HQ and tell her about some of the anomalies we took down and how we met each other, how we came to be part of the Society, what our Earths are like, things like that.
"So are you two like a couple or...." I spit out my coffee at the sudden question. It also may have landed on Hobie. I turn around to where Gwen had been walking behind and glare at her while Hobie deadpans.
"No I am not in a relationship and neither is Hobie. Why?" I ask, but I have to admit I sounded sharp. I usually use that voice with my siblings.
Gwen just shrugs. She shrugs. She just FUCKING SHRUGS!!!
"Well, I just thought what-with how you two act with each other and everything. Plus you two would make a good couple." I can't help but glance at Hobie begging him to say something, anything.
"Well, we would make a good couple. Plus the sex would be great." He loudly whispered the second part as he winks at Gwen, and I immediately regret wanting him to talk.
"First off I am asexual. I don't want to do the deed unless it is for making children. And that will be when I get married." I pause for a minute, "If I get married...Anyway Gwen what about you? You have anyone you like?" I look her dead in the eyes.
She then tells us about Miles. How he was really sweet and everything but they are from different dimensions. Plus she can't see him or anything anymore. The more she talked about him the more I realized who he is. He was the one that broke the universe. Not that I care much.
