Chapter 2
..
..
Where "Jay" came from.
..
..
Flashback...
There is a wet splattering, crunching, squelching noise. Like a rainy day, wet mud a dry crunchy leaf stepped on by a boot, crunching as it cracks apart and is squished into the mud, the boot squelches as it is suctioned back out of the mud into the next step. This is the imagery Bucky keeps in his mind as he hears the noises.
Sound after sound of people being broken and torn apart.
Bucky pretends that the wet warmth splattering over his naked flesh is rain.
People screaming, pleading for their lives become seagulls over the ocean.
The sound of a crushing skull is waves breaking over a rock.
The metallic scent in the air is salty ocean spray.
Bullets whizzing past him become a light breeze on a Summer day.
Then.
There's a shot that he can't quite block.
It hits the metal mask incasing his head and for the first time in years he is able to see, to vocalize.
He shrieks as the bullet embeds into his brain.
His brief view of the rocks and sea whites out.
The last thing Bucky knows is the embrace of the frigid waters of the stormy sea.
Then..
There is Sun and sand and ocean and he knows these things. How does he know these things?
"Whoa, whoa hey.. You are naked as a Jay Bird." a voice tells him.
"Jay?" Strangely it's the only thing he seems to be able to say. He knows more words. He knows he knows more words and he'll prove he knows more words "Jay?" his own voice calls out again. He is frustrated by his lack of ability to vocalize beyond that one word that he has seemingly latched onto as if it was somehow more familiar than any other words he had ever heard spoken in recent times which are clearly only these last few handfuls of seconds as he cannot recall anything further back than the seconds that have just come and gone as he stood naked on a beach being stated at by two strangers, though one did seem familiar somehow. His head hurt..
The strangers guided him along with them and he didn't know what else to do except to allow them to take him with them. Maybe they knew who he was and what had happened to him. One of them did seem familiar after all and he felt safe with the one that seemed familiar. So there seemed to be no reason to panic or struggle as they led him away from the beach.
His mind feels.
Small. Somehow.
The strange Male Omega dresses him in clothes that smell distinctly of the big blonde Alpha and even the scent is familiar just like his visage.
He tries speaking again "Jay?" it's still seemingly the only thing that he can get to usher past his lips!
He hears the Male Omega say something about coming back with supplies. He does know what any of that means or what supplies even are.
The Alpha, the familiar one of the two strangers, says something about going into town. He does not know what a town is.
The Male Omega leaves.
The Alpha just stands there.
He wishes he could say something as he wanders around the big open space inside.
He hears the Alpha wonder aloud about where it is he came from and is confused because someone who knows him should know where he came from. The words the Alpha speaks make no sense. If the Alpha does not know him then why does he and his scent seem so familiar? Why did the Alpha and his Omega companion even take him from the beach if they do not know him?
None of it makes any sense to him and he tries to say as much but all that comes out is a tiny mew of "Jay?"...
