Chapter 1
kayama nemuri is a easy woman. she just wants to go on patrolls, teach a bunch of over motivated kids and live a happy life with her daughter. was that really to much to ask.
instead she is now racing a villan trough alleys into the darker parts of mustafu. who would have thought that the villan had a quirk which made him imune to any kind of gas.
finally after half an hour of racing she restraints the villan. then th pro smells something like iron. she searches the villan for deep cuts and then does the same to herself. but she didn‘t find anything.thats the moment when she heard a whimper like a small child in way to much pain. she frantically looks for the kid while she slowly worries herself into a panic attack.
then she sees them. behind a dumpster was a little kid beaten to a pulp. they had beautiful forest green hair, their eye was swollen and there was a nasty burn mark on their breast. tiny gashes from a knive all over the arms and a few on the face. What happend to the kid? they couldn‘t be older then 6 or 7. when she was snapped back to reality by another quiet whimper she cursed internally for spacing out.
"hey kid can you hear me? can you move?"she asked worried as another small whimper came from the kid. they opened gorgeous emerald green eyes.they nod and then shake their head. " w–who ar–are you?" it came out broken but jung voice.
"I am the pro hero midnight i‘m gonna get u to a hospital allright?" she says with a reassuring smile. they just nod.
on the way to the hospital she just looked at the small figure and hoped that everything would be alright. who would do something like that to such a cute and precious green bean. it made her blood boil.
at the hospital she found out that his name was midoriya izuku, he was 7 years old and he was in an orphanage since one and a half years ago. when they called the orphanage to tell them that the kid was in a hospital. As she quickly realized that he would not go back to that orphanage.
"Hello mustafu orphanage xxx is speaking. how may i help you?"came a young and tired voice over the telephone.
"oh hello here is mustafu general hospital on of your orphans was brought to us with severe damage on his breast and an all in all not really good condition " said the nurse calm " i believe his name is izuku midoriya ."
" WHAT THAT QUIRKLESS SCUM DARES TO CAUSE A HOSPITAL TROUBLE " u could hear the reseptionist take a breath and then there was even more insults " WE LET IT GO TO SCHOOL AND IT JUST HAS TO PICK FIGHT. JUST A NULL, A DEKU, HELPLESS AND USELESS ! WHY IS IT EVEN TRYING ANYMORE AS OFTEN AS IT GETS INJURED IT COULD DO THE POOR NURSES NO SCRATCH THAT THE WORLD A FAVOR AND JUMP OF A ROOF! "
every person in the room paled as the last words were spit out and there was a tense moment of silence where nobody dared to speak.after the moment the nurse with the phone said " i see " and pushed the ˋend the call´ button as fast as she could. after they all procesed that he was quirlkless and the orphanage clearly didn‘t treat him well the doctor spoke " Soooo has anyone a emergency fostering lisence?" after that question everyone slowly turned to midnight.
And that was the night were the pro hero midnight became the great green bean for fostering. but she couldn’t complain who didnt want such a sweet little pumpkin pie as a son. also maybe momo would be happy about a brother at least she hoped so.
the doctor and nemuri walked back to the room just beside the waiting room where izuku laid awake on the bed."hey sorry i forgot the intrudoction at first but i am nemuri kayama aka midnight. how was your nap pumpkin pie ?" nemuri asked as gently as she could as a bit teasing laced her voice. even if it was really frustrating to talk so calm after the orphanage fiasco.
izuku smiled warm at her " i slept really well it was way warmer then in the orphanage. also are you really midnight!? becuase if you are then you have such a cool quirk! can you change the time that your gas needs to put somebody to sleep or did you try to make a support item with your quirk like smoke bombs …" after that he disolved in to a pile of mumbling mess. cute.
"thats good to hear" she said as she smiled a bit gentler at the sight of the little boy mumbling happily. then she asked the most important question for izukus, momos and her future "what would you think about living with me and my daughter?" at first he looked up at her confused and mumbling stopped. she feared he would say no but then he gave her the most beautiful grin shes ever seen and says " that would be great ."
