when they drove to the kayama appartment izuku wachted the other cars happily out of the window.
then Nemuri begann to talk. "so are you happy that you have a sister now?"
Izuku was silent for a little while before he spoke " do you think she wants me as a brother " he asked sadly.
"Of course she will want you as a brother. why would you think that Izuku ?" she says looking worried at the street.
he thought for a moment.
"well Kacchan didn't want to be my friend anymore and hurt me, the teacher always give me worse grades then i should have, my mom is gone because i couldn‘t protect her and the orphanage doesn‘t like me either …"
izuku said that as he slowly worked himself into a panic attack and then there was this one thought. What if Nem is going to leave me like everyone else? obviously she didn‘t want a worthless deku. she just wanted to make a cruel joke or to pretend to be a good person in the hospital. He was stopped in his spiralling thoughts when Nemuri said "hey stop kiddo, green bean everything is okay no need for crying come here, breathe with me " he didn’t even realize he was crying until now. she pulled the car to the side of the road and breathed with izuku.
after he calmed down she said gently and comforting "we wont hate you Izuku, and we wont leave you like your friends and we also wont hurt you ok just stay with us and well be there for you okay?" she slowly put her hand on his cheek and wiped away the remaining tears. She gave him a tight and gentle hug.he just sat there for a moment until he hugged back.
the rest of the drive was not as emotional but he got more nervous with every passing minute.
when they finally came to the kayama appartment in a better part of town he was a nervous mumbling wreck. and then the moment of truth came nem opened the door and a whirlwind of happines crashed into the pro hero.
"Momma, momma your back! how was any patrol? interessting villans? i am soooooo happy that your back!“
"hey my little strawberry not so fast! " she chuckled " shouldn’t you be allready in bed ?" she said teasing. she knew her daughter allways waits to sleep till after her shift even if she is tired.
then momo saw izuku and her intrest was directed towards him " who is that mama" Nemuri smiled softly as she said "your brother sweetie"
than the energie of momo kayama tripled "I have a brother !? whats your name? do you like heros cause mamas the best? whats your favorite food? to you wanna make a tea party? …" she trailed off as she became faster and faster with her questions.
izuku stopped her talking when he said "hi … i–i am iz–zuku and i like kats–sudon" after izuku spoke momo squealed in excitement and hugged him fiercely. while she makes various happy noices.
Nemuri was going to make a call while they can learn more about each other.
" what are your hobbies zuzu?"
"I love to analyse heros and quirks they are just so fantastic you know and building stuff is great its soooooo much fun and ..." izuku cut himself if as he realised that he was rambling and people dont like rambling.
"Thats super duper cool!" momo said to her brother in awe. who now blinked at her confused.
but then she just rambled more " i love tea and i wanna be a hero when i grow up like mama, zashi and shou .though i want to be more of a hero like shou hes soooooo cool and hes like a spy at which is sooooooo cool."
"who are shou and zashi ?" izuku asked curious
"oh they are the best friends of mama they also have a son. hes our age. oh but mama also has emi she’s great but i think she likes mama like shou and zashi like each other" she practically glows as she explains the friends of his new mama
then he saw as her brain connects some dots and she visibly brightens " wanna eat cookies?“
when nemurie is done with her conversation with nezu about how she will stay at home with izuku for a little while.(she couldnt belive she already had to stay at home she had the teaching job just for a little over half a year).
she searches the kids but she can‘t seem to find them. she searches momos room but they also aren’t there. Where are they?!
as she goes to the kitchen she sees two little kids with a half empty cookie jar in the middle. they are snoring with Cookie crumbs all over them .
she huffs in amusement as she goes to bring the kids to bed.
when they lie in momos bed together they both mumble "goodnight moma“ and a "night nem" at the same time .
she smiles fondly at the kids and puts the blanket on the both of them.
"goodnight sweeties"
