Summary
This is a story I'm working on based off of my experiences from my SMATSV DR. Ive changed a few things to keep everyone on their toes but it's mostly things I've experienced real time. Samantha(Sunny) is a 17 year old medical student from Brooklyn, NY. She is recruited as the official nurse for the Spider-Society, being stationed in Hobie Brown's dimension.

Intro

(For reference, the main character's name is Samantha, but she has a plethora of nicknames. The mostly commonly used ones are Sunny and Sam. I will try to be consistent with which name I'm using.)
Sunny woke up in her apartment, her sister knocking at her door.
"Sam! Are you sick?" Illiana called from the other side. Sunny didn't know, was she? She couldn't focus properly with her eyes so swollen from her slumber.
"Uh- no? Why?" Sunny called back, her voice cracking from the morning dryness in her mouth. She glanced around the room, trying to find the motivation to get up, failing a few times before finally standing up and walking to open the door.
"Did you need something Ili?" She yawned.
"Aren't you supposed to be at school by 8:00?" Her sister replied with a slight urgency. Sunny was on a scholarship at one of the best medical colleges in the city. This meant she didn't have to pay for classes, as long as her GPA was above 2.75. Unfortunately for her, attendance was 40% of her grade.
"Motherrrff..." Sunny rubbed her face and shut the door, she had approximately 15 minutes to get to class before she was marked absent. She threw an outfit together quickly and combed her hair out.
Sunny grabbed her school bag and pet her cat goodbye. She grabbed a plain bagel from the kitchen and held it in her mouth as she rushed out the door, waving goodbye to her sister and her sisters boyfriend, Leo, who were sitting on the couch watching some cartoon that Sunny had never seen. She bolted through cars across the city, her untamable mane of hair flying every-which way. She finally made it to the campus, surprisingly with a few minutes to spare. As she walked along the campus pavement she heard something cry out in what seemed to be pain. She looked around, finally spotting a young injured cat, perched on the steps that lead the library.
"Ay bendito." Sunny immediately swooped down and pet the animal softly. It looked at her with cautious eyes.
"¿Qué haces aqui, gatito?" she smiled sympathetically at the cat, slowly picking him up. The cat slowly lent his trust to her, sensing her kind intentions.
"You're a cute little thing aren't you?" Sunny giggled, inspecting him. She was right. The cat had dark brown fur with ginger highlights, a pattern she had never seen on a cat before. He had deep brown eyes that told her that he had been through a lot.
"I'll take care of you, gatito." she placed the animal gently in her bag "But right now, voy a llegar tarde." Sunny zipped the bag just enough so the animal would be hidden, but could still breathe. She continued her normal route to class and arrived just in time, taking her seat and pulling out her things for class.

As the class went on, Sunny managed to keep the animal quiet by slipping him treats the she had left in her pocket from her own cat at home. As soon as the professor dismissed the lecture, Sunny jumped up and headed straight towards the veterinary labs across campus, now holding the cat in her arms. She walked through the doors and looked around for the live-animal lab, finally stumbling across one at the end of the hall. She stepped in, calling out, but the lab seemed to be unoccupied aside from the animals. There was a birdcage with pigeons, chickens, even a crow. On the other side of the room there were reptile, insect, arachnid, and amphibian enclosures. Sunny gently placed the cat one of of the patient beds, eyeing one of the arachnids. It was multicolored, no-, it was changing colors.
"Qué demonios..." as she approached the enclosure, the spider seemed to glitch landed outside of the enclosure. Unfortunately for Sunny, it just happened to land on her arm.
"AY! What the fu-" before she could finish cursing the spider, it sunk its fangs into her forearm, releasing its venom into her bloodstream.
"Qué chévere. I get to die tonight too." She sighed and brushed the spider back into its cage, the bite on her arm growing more painful every moment. She itched around the edges, but that didn't help.
"Jesus Christo that hurts like a-"
"What are you doing?" Sunny rapidly turned around to see a boy approximately her age in the doorway. He had a suspicious look on his face.
"¡Oye! Don't look at me like that! I was bringing this injured cat to you, being a good citizen, and your stupid araña bit me." she huffed, swinging her arms in the general directions of both the cat, and the spider. The boy's face dropped.
"Which spider?" he asked nervously.
"Ay so you're just going to ignore the cat? And why do you say it like that? It's cryptic."
"Was it the multi-colored one?" the boy eyed the bite on Sunny's arm. The skin around the wound was slowly shifting colors.
"Uh... yeah. That was the one." she itched the bite once again. The boy sighed and looked at the spider in the enclosure that now showed a dark red, differing from its previous neon display.
"Am I going to be okay?" Sunny grew more and more nervous with the boy's silence. She looked at the spider, then back at her arm.
"Uh... Honestly, I don't know. It's probably already taken up the majority of your bloodstream by now, how do you feel?" He asked with a slight tone of concern and regret. Sunny's eyebrows creased as she thought for a moment. She was hot, it felt like she was being cooked from the inside out and she had sweat hanging from her slightly-crooked jawline.
"Hot. Sweaty." she half-chuckled while delivering her response. She would be fine, right? The boy sighed in slight relief, turning his attention to the cat.
"You should be fine. If the venom was lethal, you'd probably be hunched over on the floor right now." The corners of his mouth turned slightly upward as he inspected the animal in front of him.
"This guy will be ok, too. Just a fracture in his left hip." Sunny smiled at the cat's status. The news about her bite was comforting, but still anxiety-inducing.
"He seems like he's in good hands, so I'll go now. I have another class." She pet the cat one last time before walking out.
"Adiós, gatito. Bye." she giggled and waved to the boy as she headed out the door and into the hallway.

As the day went on, Sunny was hit with symptom after symptom from the venom. First, the sweat. But then came: growing pains, shivers, dizziness, and it even seemed like certain things were sticking to her hands. She couldn't have been more relieved when she could finally go home. As she reached her apartment, she dropped her bag to the floor and sprawled out on the couch across Illiana and Leo's laps. She let out a long sigh and pulled her cat onto her chest.
"¿Qué pasa Sam?" Leo asked and patted Sunny's leg. She let out yet another sigh and sat up, carrying her cat into her bedroom.
"Ay! What's your problem?" Illiana called and followed after her. Sunny pulled her sister into her bedroom and locked the door. She explained everything that happened to Illiana, not missing a single detail.
"I don't know what's going to happen to me- or what's already happening to me? I guess? No sé. I just need you to mantenlo en silencio. Even from Leo, ok Illi?" Her sister could only stare in response. Sunny grew anxious waiting for a response.
"Ok. I'll try. Intentaré porque te amo, but if you so much as THINK that your life is in danger-"
"I know, I know. I'll keep you updated. Thank you." Sunny released the breath she wasn't aware she was holding. Her sister pulled her closer and hugged her.
"Buenas noches amada." Illiana exited the room and Sunny locked the door, climbing into her bed. As she fell asleep, all she could think about was the events of the early afternoon.

(ok so this was just a quick little intro of how sam became spider-cure. In the next chapter, it will time skip. she was 15 in this chapter and in the next she will be 17, hope that helps. I hope you enjoyed it and that it made sense. feel free to give me any suggestions or comments!)
