Summary
This is a story I'm working on based off of my experiences from my SMATSV DR. Ive changed a few things to keep everyone on their toes but it's mostly things I've experienced real time. Samantha(Sunny) is a 17 year old medical student from Brooklyn, NY. She is recruited as the official nurse for the Spider-Society, being stationed in Hobie Brown's dimension.

(So like I said, in the last chapter she was 15 cause it was kind of a flashback and now we're in current times so she's 17! Also at this point in time, her sister and Leo are both aware of her spider-status. Feel free to ask about confusions)

Sunny sat quietly in the library, studying for an upcoming pharmacology test she had to take later. She sat there for hours, flipping through dusty pages and taking sloppy but thorough notes. A sudden crash was heard across the library. Sunny jumped up and peered over the shelves in front of her, searching for the trouble. In the back corner of the shelves, a woman suddenly screamed and was could be seen sliding slowly to the floor, against the wall. Sunny ran to her, trying to find answers as more and more people began showing the same behaviors as the woman. She heard a light chuckle from a few isles behind her. She jumped up and cautiously approached the sound.
A tall, slender man had is back turned to Sunny, hunched over something in his arms. She readied herself before speaking, not knowing what the attacker was capable of. As she pulled her spider-mask over her face, she cleared her throat.
"What do you got there?" she altered her voice ever so slightly. The opponent flipped around, holding a bottle in his hands. Sunny shivered as his outward appearance. His skin was almost grey, and he had hair like barbed wire. If his eyes had been anymore sunken in, they would be touching the back of his skull.
"You mean this?" a haunting grin crept across his face as he held up a vial with a spray-bottle cap on it, pointing at her.
"Come find out." he cackled against his almost-green teeth, aiming for Sunny. She leaped out of the way just in time, hitting her head on a bookshelf doing so.
"Ay...esto no puede estar sucediendo" she clutched the back of her head, dodging his shots.
"¡Oye! I have to study later, watch where you aim that thing. What is it anyway?" she threw her best shots at him, but to no avail. He hit her with whatever was in the vial, causing her to freeze instantly, leaning against the wall.

*Hallucinations from the vial*

Sunny was back there. Where everything started. She rubbed her eyes and tried to get ahold of herself. Her ears were ringing so loud she couldn't hear a thing Illiana was saying to her. The skin of her knees burned from being scraped against the asphalt. Something stung as it trickled from her forehead and into her eye.
"Illi?" she held onto her sisters hand, she couldn't hear anything, and she was dizzy. Her sister was frantic, bleeding from a gash in her lower cheek. The skin of her hands was deteriorating.
"Stay here, Sam. Quedarse aqui" Illiana jumped up and stumbled towards the scene in front of them. A car was completely flipped on its top, laying in the highway. Illiana tore at the car, Sunny wanted to help. She wanted to jump up and help but she was so small. Illiana was only 4 years older, but that made a difference. Sunny watched as her sister tugged against someones arm in the driver's seat. Sunny was so disoriented, until she saw his tattoo. The arm Illiana was pulling had a painfully familiar tattoo on the inside of his wrist. It was the sun, drawn by none other than Sunny.
"Papá?" Sunny called at the car hopefully. Just past her father in the passenger seat, she saw her mother's hair hanging out of the window.
"Mamá?" She couldn't do anything. Only four years old, and so little. She could just watch as her sister fought with the seatbelts for a few minutes, before finally accepting the truth. Illiana sat next to Sunny, holding her close and crying.

*Back to present time*

The villain grew closer, but Sunny couldn't move an inch. Her eyes welled with tears as she fought and struggled with her own muscles. The man just cackled and grinned that horrible grin. She could tell that this wouldn't end well for her. Just as she was losing her last inch of motivation, a portal opened. Sunny watched as a tall, muscular figure stepped out of the portal, injecting her with something, then continued the fight with the villain.
"Whose side is this guy on?" she mumbled to herself, gaining movement in her lower body again.
"Yours" The man responded. He was wearing a black suit with red around the eye area. He finally got a hold of the opponent and tied him up, sending him through another portal. As Sunny regained the remainder of her consciousness throughout her body. The man in the black suit helped sam up, setting her in a library chair.
"You alright, kid?" He tilted his head, placing a firm hand on her shoulder. Sunny's head was ringing, she couldn't think.
"Ay he got you good, didn't he." The guy sighed and lifted his mask slightly. He was handsome. He had a sharp jawline and soft brown curls that were the perfect length.
"I'm... I'm fine" Sunny shut her eyes softly, she could barely stay awake.
"Ok, listen. I'm Miguel. I have this Spiderman-society that goes around the multiverse and prevents things like this from happening. ¿Me estás siguiendo hasta ahora?"
She could barely follow the first part, she couldn't fathom there being more.
"Uh... yeah" She nodded.
"Ok. Now, I want to recruit you. My AI, Lila ran a scan of the best Spider-doctors, and you were in the top #3. And actually, we already have the first two, so I guess that makes you #1." he chuckled softly and reached his hand out.
"What does that mean... what would I be doing?" Sunny clutched the back of her head once more.
"You would be the official nurse of the society, but I would need to station you in a specific dimension. Of course you would still fight when we need you to and we'll need you occasionally as a nurse at HQ." She was getting excited, but she didn't want to leave home.
"What about my dimension?" she asked with a tone of sadness.
"Don't worry, you can still come here. And Lila will notify you when there's a threat here." Miguel placed a hand on the back of Sunny's head.
"You can think on it, but let's get you to someone who can fix you up."
"That's supposed to be my job" Sunny grimaced. Miguel chuckled as he picked her up and walked into a portal. Sunny stared in awe at her surroundings. Hundreds- thousands of Spider-people every-which way. He set her down gently on a cot in the HQ nurse's office. She couldn't help but lay down. Whatever that guy put on her really did a number on her. As her eyes fluttered shut, she could overhear Miguel talking to the other doctor about her injuries. However, before she could put in her own input, she fell unconscious.

Sunny's head pounded as she fought to open her eyes under the flickering light of the recovery-pod she was in. She couldn't remember where she was or how she got there. She pushed against the lid only a food above her. It popped open as she breathed in the air of the office. As she sat up, she could see a blurry figure carefully approach her.
"¿Está bien?" It was Miguel. Sunny let out a sigh of relief as she recalled her previous encounter.
"Sí, I think so" She inhaled sharply as the back of her head pounded once more. Miguel chuckled lightly and set his hand on her head.
"You sure, Chiquita? That guy got you pretty good." He crouched down to her level, analyzing her behavior.
"How long was I out?" Sunny's eyebrows furrowed at the recollection of her fight. Miguel sighed.
"Only a few hours. We got you in here at around noon and it's 7:30-ish now. Do you think you can walk?" He held his hand out. She placed her hand on his and he pulled her up carefully. She tried her best not to cling to his arm, but she could hardly balance.
"Perdón.." She sighed and held onto him. He looked down with a slight concern, holding her steady.
"It's alright, Chiquita. Do you need to sit down?" He tilted his head, pausing his footsteps. Sunny shook her head and took another step forward.
"I'm fine. It'll just take me a minute to recenter." Miguel chuckled lightly at her persistence and led her down the hallway. They paused at the door of his office.
"Ok, listen. You're gonna meet some people in here, and they're all loco. Stay out here for just a minute, I need to make sure they behave." He hesitated before stepping into the doorway for a few moments. Sunny thought about putting her mask back on, but opted not to, as she could barely breathe as it is. After a short period of time, he stepped halfway outside, still talking to whoever was on the other side of the door.
"Yeah- No I'm bringing her in now, be patient. Seriously guys, if you freak her out, you're all on bathroom duty. Be good- Ay give me a second, would you? Maldita gente loca Jesus." He turned to face Sunny, hesitating again. He reached out for her, leading her through the door. She scanned the room, seeing five Spider-people standing around the entrance. They all seemed roughly her age.
"Ay come on guys, back up back up. You want to introduce yourself, Chiquita?" Miguel flung his hand in a 'shoo' motion and closed the door. Sunny hesitated as she looked around, figuring out what to say. None of the others were wearing their masks either, so she felt less vulnerable compared to them.
"Hola, my name is Samantha but normally people call me Sunny, or Sam. It's up to you I guess." She shrugged with an awkward smile and waved around the room. They all stared back at her for a moment.
"Oye, I didn't say you had to be silent. Introduce yourselves." Miguel sighed and walked across the room to a levitating ledge with screens surrounding it, pinching the bridge of his nose. Sunny watched as a young boy, maybe a little younger than her, approached her with a friendly smile. He was slightly muscular, and had long brown hair that hung over his face. He stuck his hand out to Sunny, slightly startling her.
"I'm Pavitr" He smiled and shook her hand gently. He had a kind nature to him that made her smile as she watched him back away. The next person to approach was a shorter girl in a white suite. She seemed the same age as Pavitr. She had one side of her head shaved as the other had blonde hair that hung over her face. She had bright blue eyes and a tooth gap, similar to Sunny's.
"Hi, I'm Gwen." She showed a slight smile and reached her hand out cautiously. Sunny returned her awkward expression, shaking her hand swiftly and turning her attention to the next person. The next boy was definitely a little younger than her, he wore a black suit with red stripes underneath.
"¿Qué tal, chica? I'm Miles." He extended one of his long arms to shake her hand. Sunny chuckled at his broken Spanish, relieved that someone else spoke her 1st language here.
"I like your suit." She smiled as he walked away, catching a look from Gwen out of the corner of her eye. She hesitated for a moment as the next girl approached her. She seemed digital-like. Her hair was pulled into to pigtails and she had a cute look to her.
"I'm Margot, and yes, I am a hologram. But not like Lila. I have a physical body in my dimension, but I prefer it here." Margot shook Sunny's hand with both of hers, comforting Sunny's nerves.
Just as the nervous pit in her stomach was fading, it came back 10 fold as the last person approached her. A tall, unbelievably cool boy approached her with a laid-back manner. He had wild dark hair and piercings that looked like Christmas ornaments all over him. She couldn't find the words. He tilted his head as he glanced at her, reaching his long arm toward her to shake her hand.
"Hobie" a small smirk brushed across his face. Sunny took his hand silently, nodding as he backed away
. "Alright now that that's over with... listen everyone." Miguel interrupted and called everyone over to the ledge he was standing on from before.
"Chiquita, this is your team. Guys, Sunny is your official nurse. She's going to be here, hopping in between dimensions where she's needed, and most importantly..." he sighed and glanced at Hobie, who was sitting criss-cross on the wall.
"She will be, for the majority of her time, stationed at her own office in Hobie's dimension. Since, he can't seem to pick his battles." Hobie chuckled and glared at Sunny, shrugging once more and bowing his head as the others teased him for being hot-headed. Sunny smiled at his gesture and shook her head, directing her attention back to Miguel.
"Hobie, if you would please take her to her office in your dimension and show her around?" He called to him. Hobie thought for a moment.
"Yeah, why not." Hobie hopped up and approached Sunny, opening a portal to his dimension and stepping in.
"Haven't got all night, mate." He called to her. He jerked his head toward the portal as she cautiously walked through the portal. As the portal closed, Hobie clicked his tongue and saluted dramatically to Miguel. He led her around the room, pointing to different utilities.
"This is your office, I suppose. It's quite bleak innit? Maybe try to liven it up in here while you're around?" He had a cheeky smile on his face as he sprawled out on one of the beds. Sunny just nodded, subtly admiring the Brit.
"You are the quietest bird I've ever met. Would you say something, please? Feels like I'm communicating with a wall. A cute wall, but a wall nonetheless." he sighed, glancing at her. She chuckled and sat in a chair next to him.
"So what did Miguel mean when he said you can't pick your battles?" She tilted her head. He just laid and chuckled for a moment.
"I guess he thinks I'm just a hot-headed git." He smiled, rubbing the back of his neck briefly. Sunny raised an eyebrow at him.
"He's not wrong- ouch. Saying that caused me physical pain." Hobie clutched his chest dramatically, causing her to laugh softly at him, shaking her head.
"There's this Scorpion, man he's a real bog. I guess I fight him too often for my own good, he's got this brutal venom." He lifted the bottom of his shirt, showing an array of wounds along his side. Sunny struggled to not gawk at his figure as she examined his injuries.
"Ay bendito. I can treat those, if you'd like." She said, knocking some sense into herself. He shook his head, sitting up and dropping the corner of his shirt.
"Not a chance, Sunshine. I'm bloody terrified of needles. Besides, they're kind of banger, no? Adds some coolness." Sunny scoffed and gently pushed his shoulders back down onto the bed.
"Like you're not cool enough already. And anyways, I can't be stationed here and just not do my job." She shook her head and lifted the corner of his shirt once more, keeping her cool as best as she could. He sighed nervously.
"Sure you can, I won't snitch." He joked playfully, trying to keep his composure as Sunny spread some numbing gel on the wounds. She smiled at him reassuringly and handed him a towel to hold on to for the nerves.
"You won't even feel it, juro." She held one hand to her heart and one in the air, jokingly pledging to be gentle. He closed his eyes warily, sighing softly as she treated his injuries carefully.
"So what do you like to do? Outside of this stuff, I mean." Hobie opened his eyes, watching her work. She paused for a moment, surprised by his sudden topic change.
She finally came to the conclusion that he was just distracting himself from the nerves.
"I enjoy all forms of art." She smiled. He raised his eyebrows.
"What kind do you do like the most?"
"I paint, watercolor specifically. I also write songs and dance occasionally but only in the privacy of my own home." Sunny chuckled as she continued working on his side, finishing by stitching his gashes closed.
"One more, haciendo muy bien." She stitched the last wound closed and placed a bandage around his waist.
"Well that's interesting. Do I get to hear your songs? I'm a musician too, you know." He grinned. Sunny shook her head.
"Never" She giggled. "I don't think you'd like my style."
"Rubbish. I'll give anything a try, very open minded." he winked with a click of his tongue, causing her to smile again.
"Maybe someday, but not now." She shook her head once more and tapped his shoulder "All done."
He sat up swiftly, hopping up from the bed.
"Thanks, mate." He winked and patted her shoulder. "You're a liar, by the way. I felt every second of that." He shook his head. Sunny's face dropped, she tried to keep from panicking until he suddenly broke into a chuckle.
"Just taking the piss, couldn't feel a thing" His cheeky grin returned as she sighed in relief. She nudged him and walked to the other side of the office, looking through medicine cabinets. Without thinking, he followed her, waiting close by for her to say something. She pulled something out of a bottle and handed it to him. "Take this." She handed him a small cup of water off of the desk.
"Are you drugging me? It was just a joke Sunshine." He grinned and took the pill.
"It's an antibiotic, estúpido." Sunny chuckled at the nickname and put the bottles back in the cabinet.
"Alright, you ready to head back, Mate?" Hobie used his watch to open another portal, gesturing for her to step through. She walked through, back into Miguels office. It seemed like everyone else had already gone home. The pair wandered around until they found Miguel.
"How'd it go?" Miguel glanced at the two.
"Phenomenally" Hobie grinned, leaning his arm on Sunny's shoulder.
"I wasn't asking you." Miguel turned his glance to Sunny, slightly whispering "Be honest, it's ok. I know he's insufferable." He looked intently at her. Hobie made a 'pssshh' sound and rolled his eyes.
"Estaba bien" She smiled and Miguel sighed in relief.
"See? I'm the perfect host" Hobie slung his arm around Sunny, boasting at Miguel.
"Apenas. Go home Hobie." He cocked his head toward the exit of the office.
"Yeah I'll go, but not because you told me to. I was already planning on leaving. Catch you later Sunshine" He clicked his tongue and stepped through a portal. Sunny waved at him and shook her head.
"Dios mío, that kid is impossible." Miguel pressed his temple and led Sunny down the hall to get her own watch.
"I've been meaning to ask, how will I finish school?" Sunny mentioned to him.
"Don't worry, Lila is transferring all your data, so you'll be an online student now. The courses will be the same, but they will be- for the most part, self-paced." He explained, placing a hand on her shoulder. She nodded, putting her watch on.
"You should go home now, discuss everything with your sister and we'll worry about getting you settled into your new place tomorrow. Buenas noches, Chiquita." He walked alone down the hallway. Sunny sighed and opened a portal back home.

Sunny stepped into her living room from the portal, nearly scaring her sister to death. Both her and Leo just stared in shock as Sunny stood there in the room. "Sam... qué demonios." Illiana was wide-eyed as she stood up and stepped closer. Sunny took a second before explaining everything. After an hour of stories and explanations, Illiana and Leo finally understood what was happening. They agreed to let her go, as long as she promised to finish school and meet them for dinner at least once a week. She explained that she would bring Magnolia, her cat along with her as to not burden her sister. As she made her way back to her room, she grew more excited, and nervous for the day ahead of her. She spent the night packing her things, and Magnolia's things in preparation. When she was finished, she laid, sprawled out in her bed, holding Magnolia close to her. "¿Está listo, Maggie?" Sunny stroked the top of Magnolias head. The cat closed her eyes against her chest. "Me neither." she giggled and closed her eyes, struggling to fall asleep.
