Amazing Spider-Man: True Purpose
Summary
What if there was another reason why the Phoenix Force was heading to Earth? What if it wasn't only there to claim young Hope as its new avatar and help her restore mutants? In fact, what if the big cosmic bird never really cared for any of that and all it wanted was a little spider? All because of a deal with the devil.
Note
Okay, I would just like to point out that this is my first story and I take criticism to a point. If you've got a problem with the way I portray some characters, then tell me, so I can avoid bashing and/or misinterpreting them. Those two are actually my pet peeves when it comes to other writers' fanfic.Well, more bashing than misinterpreting. And unless the story is good and doesn't focus so much on the bashing.Grammar and vocabulary tips are definitely welcome.Tips on how to better paint a picture for you readers would be very appreciated. Landscapes, location, character description, etc.And for the people who will rag on me for the stupidest crap, like say pairings or how this story isn't following cannon, or some other issue you've got that doesn't really matter to me or in general. Please, do the world a favor and stick your head in the toilet and flush because that is pretty much where you and your opinions should be going.Anyway here is my first fic, enjoy.Disclaimer: I do not own marvel or any of its characters affiliated here.

Blast From the Past! Part Finale

(Peters Apartment)

It is nighttime when just outside of the humble abode of Peter Parker, both Spider-Man and his younger counterpart land on the fire escape with barely a sound from either one. The older one slides the window open and climbs in and so does his younger self silently. The older one takes off his mask and tosses it on his couch in agitation while the younger one cautiously takes his off and watches his older self lean on the kitchen counter. Even with his back turned, Pete can tell his older self is upset with his tensed-up shoulders and head hanging.

While he waits for his older self to say something, Pete takes in the apartment he'll be sleeping in for the foreseeable future. It's pretty decent. The living room and kitchen are in the same room. The living room has a single couch with a coffee table that has one cup on it and lots of water rings. The television is a flat screen but nothing like what they had back at that mutant school. The kitchen has a fridge that seems pretty worn out and covered in a lot of sticky notes that sem to be reminders to throw out spolied food and buy fresh produce. Most have underlines on them.

He walks in some more to explore and sees the bedroom has a single large bed with a small drawer next to it. The bed in unkempt and clothes all over the floor. He can see the bathroom and it's also kind of gross with the dried blood stains on the wall and floor. Not to mention the wet clothes on the sink.

Maybe the older him hasn't had a chance to clean it.

He looks back at his older self and sees the man has yet to turn around and acknowledge him. His finger rapidly taps the kitchen counter that separates the living room from the kitchen. A clear sign that he is stressed over their situation.

When they discovered they couldn't send him or any of the other time-displaced teens back to their original time, the adults started to freak out. Most notably Spider-Man. The arachnid-themed hero was blowing up and threatening Beast to fix whatever was wrong. But after an hour of Spider-Man and the grownups privately discussing the issue, they agreed that Reed Richards and Tony Stark would be the next best to try and find a solution. Of course it is pretty late in the day, so his future counterpart dragged him out of there with a firm grip on the younger man's head., saying that he'll call his friends in the morning to look over the issue themselves.

But his tone told the younger hero that he was mad. At him or the situation, young Peter can only hope it's the latter.

He did seem better after he did what he did to Beast. Something that wasn't too mean and very funny. At least from an outside perspective.

The younger hero looks at the older one and decides to break the silence the only way he knows how, "You know-"

"No." Peter interrupts before Pete starts his joke and lifts a single finger before wagging, "No no. You do not get to say one word."

The man doesn't even look at him and that makes Pete frown, "Okay maybe me coming here to the future wasn't the smartest move but I feel like you're overreacting."

Peter sighs in aggravation, "If you had any idea what's going on." He mumbles out before he finally turns around and glares at Pete, "You being here is a big deal. Bigger than I'm willing to tell you."

Pete becomes perplexed, "Why?"

Knock knock knock.

A knock at his door makes both Peter and Pete straighten their backs. Peter whips his head to the younger man before he jabs his finger to his room and quietly orders, "Get in the closet! Quick!"

The young man listens and he zips into the room before he shuts the door behind him. Peter waits until he hears another door close to go to his front door and look through the peephole, "Who is it?"

"It's us." He hears MJ's voice and sees her and Felicia through his peephole.

He looks down and contemplates on whether or not he should open the door. He doesn't want them to think this current situation will have any effect on their getaway plans. But he knows they'll know he's hiding something if he doesn't open the door.

He sags in defeat since he knows they'll insist on coming in. He opens the door and there standing at his doorway are both MJ and Felicia in casual clothing. But even in casual clothes they are still stunning. He also notices the colors they have are different from each other. MJ has lighter colors and Felicia has darker ones.

He opens his mouth to greet them but they walk right past him with an expectant look and MJ asks, "Where is he?"

He plays dumb, "Where's who?"

But they are not having it as they both stand by each other with their arms crossed and Felicia asks, "Where's the young you?"

"How do you know I didn't send him back?"

Together they simply say, "Cause it's you."

He stays silent for a second before he slumps in defeat, "What does it say about me when this sort of thing is expected by you guys and not me?"

Felicia shrugs and says, "You're optimistic. You always hope for the best."

MJ nods in agreement. It's a trait that they love about him. He always assumes the best-case scenario in any resolution to a problem. But both she and Hardy also know his luck and it's never simple. Things will go sideways and it's best to just be prepared for it.

MJ looks around the apartment in search of her lover's younger self, "So where is he?"

Peter sighs, "In my room in the closet." He informs them and scowls at the door to his bedroom, "I couldn't leave him at the X-Men school, so I figured he could stay here until I can send him home."

"And why couldn't your friend who brought him here send him back?" Felicia inquires.

Peter shrugs and shakes his head while rubbing his eyes, "He said something was blocking him from sending mini-me back."

Although Peter already has a suspicion of what it is. And it does not bode well for anyone involved and uninvolved.

"Wow."

The throuple whip their heads to the source of the young voice and see the subject of their discussion standing at the doorway with a gobsmacked expression. His eyes fixated on the two incredibly lovely women that are surprised to see him.

Peter glares at the teen, "What're you doing?! I didn't say you can come out!"

Pete raises his hands in defense, "I-I'm sorry! I thought that since they know about us- er -you being Spider-Man they wouldn't freak out over me!"

Peter stares at the teen with a dumbfounded look before he looks at the girls and sees that they are floored. And he assumes it's because of a young version of him being here. But in truth it's not because of that.

"Oh my god." Mary Jane says with a whisper and a hand over her mouth as she stares at the teen's face, "I forgot how old you said you were when you…"

Felicia's face is no different as she is having a hard time believing it, "You were seriously doing this since you were…"

They both stare at the time-displaced teenager version of their shared man stunned silence. Both of them knew he started being a superhero when he was young, but to see it before their eyes that he was actually the age he was when he started is a whole other matter. Neither one can really believe it even though they knew and now the proof is right before their eyes. It's a real eye-opener.

And while the two women stare, Pete shuffles under their gaze uncomfortably, not being used to having beautiful women stare at him like this. He still has problems with girls in general, what with him being the biggest nerd in school and all.

Peter is just befuddled by their shock, he knows they knew what age he slipped on the spandex. He told them. Hell MJ saw him crawl out of his window when she lived next door to him. He waves his hand and calls out, "Girls?"

They jolt in place, as they were lost in their thoughts, and look at him and MJ says, "Sorry. It's just…" she trails off as she looks back at the teen, "It's one thing to hear it from you-"

"It's another thing to see it." Felicia finishes the statement while staring at the teen again.

Peter can't fault them for that he supposes. His adventures are pretty hard to believe, hell he hardly believes it and he's been through them. Add on to the fact he's been doing it all since he was a teen in highschool, well its no wonder he is so messed up in the head.

The subject of their discussion points to his face, "Is it my rugged good looks that seemed to have dwindled over time? Is that what's bothering you?"

That breaks the tension as the two women smile and snort in amusement while Peter gives the teen a dull glare, "Your rugged good looks are diminished by your baby fat."

"Are not." Pete states petulantly before he sticks his nose in the air, "If anything they add to my Jen a see que that cannot be denied."

"It's je ne sais quoi, you illiterate boob."

"And suddenly you know French?"

"It's common knowledge."

"Can't be that common if I don't know it."

Peter pinches the bridge of his nose and groans while the girls grin in amusement. They are enjoying the interaction between the two. It's like watching a big brother and little brother scenario. It's nice to see that Peter hasn't changed much in regards to who he is at his core. He is still the same goof he was when he started out. Although he is more serious in lots of areas, he still has fun and tries to make light of situations.

Felicia gives her lover a teasing smile, "Funny being on this end, huh?"

Peter turns his dull glare on her and says, "Most women have a tendency to be supportive with their beau in a stressful situation."

Felicia shrugs and simply points out, "I'm not most women."

Peter and MJ concede with nods, before Peter refocuses on his young counterpart and points to his room, "Alright back in the closet with you."

Pete pouts and asks, "Why do I have to go back in the closet?"

"There are things that you are not allowed to know." Peter simply says as he tries to usher the young teen into the room, "World-shattering things."

Pete doesn't budge as he gives the older man a perplexed expression and asks, "What could I learn that would be more world-shattering than dying and coming back to life?" A word that Peter said then registers in his head, "Did you say beau?"

Peter scrunched his eye up as he realizes his slip of the tongue. He wasn't supposed to reveal that tidbit. Though it shouldn't be a big deal for his mini-me to learn a fact like that, it still doesn't bode well if he discovers other facts.

"I thought you were with some woman called Sonja?"

Like that.

Peter stops pushing and whirls him around, "How do you know about Sonja?"

Not bothered by the sudden turn, Pete shrugs and answers, "She was in the paper. Said she proclaims to be a lover of yours or something."

Peter clenches his eyes shut and groans. He should have known his younger counterpart would look himself up in the paper. Although it's not a very popular trend anymore and the students back at the school likely don't read from newspapers, someone like Logan still reads the paper. Which explains why there was a newspaper for Pete to read.

From behind Peter, Felicia nods as she recalls reading that as well and comments, "I was surprised, myself, when I read about that but also jealous." They all look at her inquisitively and she furrows her brows while crossing her arms as she explains, "Hey I had a hard enough time competing with a supermodel. A redheaded warrior that has nothing to be ashamed of would be a bigger pain."

MJ gets a mirthful smirk because of the thief's words. She knows Felicia has felt jealousy over the model's career, though has stated otherwise in the past, but now that she is involved with Peter and MJ romanticly she is trying to fit into the normal aspect of their lives. Which is likely why she said yes in partnering with Mary Jane in running a nightclub.

Pete meanwhile is again caught up in something else that was said, "What do you mean competing?"

Felicia, realizing her faux paus, covers her mouth in a ladylike fashion while Peter gives her a wide-eyed incredulous expression. Silently saying 'Why!?'

She gives him a sheepish one while Pete looks to the three of them and breathlessly asks, "Are you saying that you two and that Sonja woman fight over me?"

Peter sighs in exasperation before he throws up in defeat, "You know what? Forget it." He says and looks at his younger self with a slightly manic look, "Here I am trying to prevent you from learning too much but it's obviously a losing battle." He progresses to become more manic, "I don't want the universe to collapse in on itself but that clearly doesn't bother you since YOU REFUSE TO LISTEN!"

Peter is looming over Pete who has a frightened look on his young face and is curled back. The girls are reeled back from the outburst of their shared lover. They glance at each other before looking back at him. The stress of the situation is starting to get to him.

They both step up to his left and right and pull him back as MJ says, "Okay Tiger, calm down."

"No need to bite Baby-Spider's head off." Felicia calmly adds.

While Peter takes a breath his younger counterpart nods along and gestures to the two ladies, "Yeah. Listen to, uh…"

Both girls let go of Peter and Felicia introduces herself first, "Felicia Hardy."

"Mary Jane Watson."

Pete's eyes nearly pop out of his head and his jaw drops as he gawks at the redhead, "Mary Jane Watson?! You're Mary Jane Watson?! Miss Watson's niece?!"

MJ smiles in amusement, "I take it we haven't met yet."

"My aunt and yours keep trying to set us up." Pete explains and continues to gawk at her up and down, "All she keeps telling me is that you have a wonderful personality."

Felicia snorts and then tries to cover it as a cough while Peter turns his head and clears his throat as he scratches it. Felicia just finds the word choice of the old Parker woman to be hilarious. She probably means it but she likely doesn't understand that to young people it usually meant that the personality was the only attractive quality of the person. Peter however knows his aunt was likely just messing with him. The woman knew what she was doing and just wanted to surprise him.

MJ gives them both a look before she looks back at the young time-displaced teen and confesses, "Well admittedly at the time she was just being nice."

Mary Jane knows the kind of girl she was in her younger days. She wasn't a slut or anything, the first man she was with physically was Peter after all, but she wasn't a saint. Partying all night while drawing all the eyes of men and a fair amount of women on her. All in a desperate attempt to avoid dealing with her problems. And dismissing and pushing people away because she was afraid of getting hurt.

Yeah, Aunt May was being generous when she said MJ had a great personality.

"She should've told me you were so…" Pete looks at her up and down, "Wow."

Mary Jane gets a small awkward smile, because though she is used to being ogled at, it's a young Peter that is ogling her. Peter is just annoyed by this and would like to web the teen's eyes.

Felicia, seeing the both of their looks, decides to turn the tables. She gives her beau an accusing look, "How come you don't wow us?"

Peter jerks back, wondering where that came from, but quickly recovers and lovingly responds, "Isn't it enough that my heart skips a beat every time I see you?"

"No." Felicia says flatly, again making Peter jerk back, "A wow or a damn would go a long way."

She walks to his couch with MJ in tow. Peter watches them both with a sigh. He knows they aren't actually upset over this, they are just having a bit of fun at his expense. Lightening up the mood like he usually does.

'I really am a bad influence on them.' He muses before notices that he's not the only one watching the girls. "Hey." He glares at his mini-me, "Roll those eyes back in your head. They are not for you."

Pete does not take his eyes off them, "Not yet."

Peter stays silent for a moment as he flatly glares at Pete before he says, "You know it won't be child abuse if I hit you, right? It'll be self-abuse."

Pete scoffs before he feels a familiar tingle and looks at his older counterpart wearingly, "My spider sense is saying you're telling the truth."

"Trust it." He says before he goes to his armchair and collapses on it with an exhausted sigh.

With Mary Jane and Felicia on the couch and older Peter in the armchair, Pete doesn't see another spot for him to sit in. Tempting as it is to sit between the two lovely women, he doesn't think his older self will like it. So he just hops up on the counter and waits patiently for the grownups to start talking.

The two ladies look at him expectedly as MJ asks, "So what's the plan?"

With a tired tone, Peter answers, "I'll talk to Reed and Tony in the morning and see if they can come up with something."

"Not really a plan but better than nothing." Felicia comments with a shrug, "I'm surprised you didn't go right now."

"Would have been rude of me to wake everyone up." Peter points out.

Mary Jane raises an eyebrow at him and asks, "Even for something like this?"

Peter turns his gaze to the model and says, "MJ I know you're relatively new to this, being on this side of the fence I mean, but as big of a deal this is, it can wait until morning."

Mary Jane frowns at him. He wasn't being condescending, just pointing out a fact really, but it still bothers her for one reason.

"You sure you're not just being optimistic?" She inquires.

Peter stays silent as he thinks about her words. With his luck he should know that even if it's fine now, something will likely happen that will prevent him from going. Add another him and chances are double. But still, its his problem and as much as he likes to have help now, he still doesn't like pushing his problems on others if he can help it.

"Maybe." Peter admits before he shrugs, "Still, it's more my problem than theirs. So there's really no need to-"

"You're wrong."

"Bah!" Peter shouts as he leaps out of his seat and turns to see a familiar face. "Jean! Can you stop-?!" He stops when he sees she is not alone, "Julia?"

Madam Web nods in greeting, "Peter."

"What're you-?"

"I'm here because of him." The seer answers while she points to the frozen time-displaced teen and answers.

Peter nods in understanding, "I figured that but why?

"Peter." Julia starts as she fully steps into the living room with Jean following along, "Him being here is more dangerous than you realize. On so many different levels."

Peter looks at his frozen younger counterpart and sighs through his nose. He knows of course what Julia is talking about. It wasn't too long ago that he was informed of certain aspects of reality that most seemed to be ignorant of. But that ignorance is not an excuse for their actions or the consequences that follow.

Peter suddenly realizes how quiet it is. He turns to look at the two women he is romantically involved with. Both frozen like his younger self and he is not happy about it.

"Jean." He addresses the telepath turned 'goddess' and gives her a fixed look, "I'm gonna have to insist that you unfreeze them."

Jean gives him a questioning gaze as she informs him, "They are fine. It's like what happened back at the school."

Peter does not budge and crosses his arms, "I know that. But I'm still gonna have to insist that they be included in this conversation."

Julia looks at him curiously, "Why do you want them to be involved in this conversation?"

"I don't want to keep things from them." He tells them and gestures to his frozen girls, "They're with me, the both of them, and that means more than I can put into words. So the next best way to show how much I trust and love them is by including them in this nonsense."

Maybe not actually the next best way but he does feel like he needs to include them more in his life. He is tired of the lies he has to tell to 'protect' them. While, yes, sometimes telling them about what's happening in his life would put theirs in danger, that wasn't always the case. Most of the time he didn't want them to stress over his problems too.

Though that was mostly with Mary Jane. With Felicia it was more due to her not caring about the problems in his life outside of the mask.

Julia gives him a firm look, "Peter. There are matters that they-"

"I don't want to hear it, Julia." Peter interrupts her with a frown, "I am sick and tired of the constant forewarnings and cryptic messages you keep giving me." He jabs his finger in her face as he gives an example, "You knew that it was Otto that burned the world down. And you knew it was because I was gone for a day."

Julia tries to defend herself, "If I had-"

"I don't want to hear it." But Peter isn't having it. He takes a breath to keep from losing it, "I know that knowing too much is a bad thing. But frankly, you don't even know what's too much or too little. You always settle for too little." He gives her a disappointed look, "Being cautious is good and all Julia, but sometimes you have to take a risk."

Julia turns away from him in shame and inquires, "Even when the consequences are dire."

"When aren't they?" Peter sardonically challenges.

They both remain silent. With Peter looking at her expectedly and Julia not wanting to 'look' him in the eye. She knows that when it comes to her powers she is overly cautious. But much like Peter with his own powers, she needs to be cautious. Maybe more so. She can look into the future and see the potential outcome of events. If she interferes or interacts in any way that she does not see, then it can lead to disaster.

She learned that when they turned on that machine that they used on the Spider-Queen during the Spider-Island event. She did not see it would increase the Queen's power when she told them to reverse what they did.

Though on the bright side, Peter got back his sixth sense. But one positive outcome does not mean it wouldn't have ended in calamity.

Peter's huff takes her out of her head, "I'm gonna tell them regardless. Might as well save me the trouble of explaining later."

Julia looks to Jean, since that statement was directed at the telepath and is she one who ultimately decides whether the two other ladies are included in the conversation or not.

Jean stares back at the hero expressionless. The situation does not matter to her personally. But still, the man's stubbornness does irk her. She did not allow the X-Men to know about her speaking with the new Phoenix host, and he did not seem to mind then. Now, he is adamant in including his lovers over the current conversation.

Again, personally, it does not matter but she is bothered.

She adheres and nods at him. She will not let the younger him go, however. She can surmise that he does not want him to know.

The girls blink as if waking up from a dream before they turn to their shared man and see he is not alone. two people that were literally not there a second ago are suddenly in the room with them.

"Peter?" MJ cautiously says to him as he eyes shift back and forth between him and the two women that suddenly just appeared, "What just happened?"

He gestures to the blind seer, "You guys know Julia." He says before pointing to the other redhead in the room, "And this is Jean Grey. She shut your brains down so that she and Julia could talk to me privately."

The two new women wave and nod in greetings. MJ and Felicia remain stumped before what Peter said registers in their head and they simultaneously say, "She did what now?"

He raises his hands placatingly and says, "It's not as bad as it sounds."

"It sounds pretty bad." MJ says with a concerned look. She thought she was immune to any mind control since Red Skull tried to put a whammy on her. Apparently that is not the case here.

Felicia looks at the new redhead curiously before she points out in shock, "You're the X-Men chick who died."

Mary Jane is confused for a moment before she remembers Peter mentioning the famous love triangle between Jean, Logan, and the X-Men's leader Scott Summers. It was one of those things he mentioned in the rare quiet moments. Sort of gossiping but at the same time telling her that even supers have problems like theirs.

Love triangles.

"Yeah." Peter confirms with a nod, "She died and became the White Phoenix."

Both women look at him questioningly as Mary Jane asks, "What's that?"

Peter shrugs, "I don't know. She's a cosmic being now I guess."

"She's like Thor?" MJ compares, "Like a god?"

Peter thinks about it for a second before Jean responds with a head shake, "No. The Norse God and his pantheon are a different classification than me."

The two ladies look at the cosmic being as the woman just stares at them blankly. She is unbothered by their stares and their thoughts of her. They are not frightened of her, not like most others would be, because they do not fully understand what her position entails. They have seen their shared lover fight with a God of Thunder in many battles, so they are assuming that she is not all that different from Thor. Just in a different class.

Jean would explain but there are more pressing matters.

And Peter seems to know this as he decides to move on. "I'll explain it later. Right now they came here to talk to me about him." He says, gesturing to his young counterpart. He then gets a tired look in his eye, "Though I can already guess what's about to be said." He looks at Jean, "This is about what was discussed at the trial, right?"

Jean and Julia nod as the seer takes a seat at the small table Peter has by his kitchen.

"The trial?" Felicia questions, "You mean the one that you had to die to be involved in?"

Peter nods casually, "That's the one."

Both the supermodel and thief get concerned expressions. Peter's casualness with his death is worrisome. Granted it was planned by some cosmic forces, but still, his dismissal of it makes them think he does not value his life. Or worse he expects to die more than he should. They certainly don't want him to be comfortable with that mentality.

"If we could explain as to our being here." Jean impatiently states making everyone quiet down. She takes a breath, "As you now know, space and time are alive. And it is known as Eternity." She points to Pete, who is remained frozen, "So him being here has made quite the stir."

They all look at the teen before Peter asks in concern, "How bad?"

"You know what it's like to be shot." Julia comments, "It's what he is feeling right now with all of them. But most notably him."

"Oh, man." That does not sound good.

MJ raises her hand, like she is in class, and Jean nods at her, like she is the teacher allowing the student to speak. "Why is he a bigger deal?" MJ asks.

"Yeah, the young you is here too." Peter points out to Jean and gestures to her figure, "And you turned into this."

"My circumstances and yours are different," Jean informs him.

"How so?"

Fire starts to simmer to life on Jean as she speaks, "I am the White Phoenix. I am fire and rebirth. Life and death. An endless cycle that cannot be broken. Not even by time. That Jean Grey being here, has no sway over my existence. I am not tethered to what happens to her because I am no longer Jean Grey."

Both MJ and Felicia reel back from the display of power. They've met a God and had seen their fair share of displays of power but not up close like this.

However as dramatic as the telepath is being, Peter can't help his impulse. "So do we call you Whitey?"

MJ and Felicia snort at the quip and roll their eyes. Jean gives him a bland look as her fire dies down. She is not amused.

"You know me as Jean. So you can refer to me as Jean." She tells him in a flat tone.

Peter, seeing he got to her, tries not to smile and clears his throat, "So is little Jean the least painful?"

Jean shakes her head and answers, "No. She is still as painful as the rest. And the reason your younger counterpart's presence is more damaging is because of what you are."

Peter groans as Julia nods and explains, "You are the champion of the Web of Life and Destiny. You are at the epicenter of both order and chaos's greatest-"

"I know." Peter interrupts her speech while rubbing his face in irritation, "I know, I know, I know. I've already been told all of this by lots of people, Julia."

Well not always people. At the trial, the two big heads, Order and Chaos, explained what he is to them. And what he was supposed to be like. Ezekiel Sims and Cassandra Web were the two of the people who talked to him about this stuff. And even then they barely mentioned anything. Julia hasn't done and said more but she has not been Madam Web for very long.

Peter stops rubbing his face and says, "But that doesn't explain why him being here is worse than them."

Julia takes a moment to consider her words. She knows if she says the wrong thing, it could bring disaster.

"Once you had no control over your fate." The blind seer begins, "Life has been directing you to a specific path."

"What path is that?" Peter inquires.

She shakes her head. "I can't say." Julia responds, "After the trial, however, your future became uncertain. I can see glimpses of potential outcomes, but no longer any certainty." That makes the throuple raise their brows curiously as Julia continues, "Like what happened the day you stepped through time. You saw what happened when you disappeared for a single day. And I told you and Felicia that you two had to fix it."

Peter does indeed recall that. It hit him real hard to know that if he's gone for a single day, the word literally catches on fire. Some might consider that to be very arrogant, but he knows that that's just his life. And those close to him know that too.

As he thinks about this though, another worry pops into his head and voices it to Julia.

"That's not what'll happen now, right?" He asks her in concern, "With me and the girls going on vacation?"

The other two women look at him before the look at the blind seer. They try to hide their worry, they are actually looking forward to going away with their shared lover. To hear that he can't because the world would end would be heartbreaking. They would deal with it for his sake but it wouldn't lessen the pain.

Julia stays silent for a moment before she answers. "It doesn't seem likely." The throuple breath a sigh of relief as Madam Web looks to the frozen teen, "You won't be taking him with you, so in a way you'll still be here."

Huh. Convenient loophole. Peter feels relief wash over him as he looks at his younger self in consideration. Maybe he can make this work to his benefit. He'll have to be careful though. Both for the teens sake and his own.

"Back to my point," Julia says, "That day was filled with so much uncertainty. I saw glimpses of possible outcomes but none were guaranteed."

That grabs his attention. He waved his hands, "Wait wait wait." Peter has a stupefied look on his face, "Are you saying that I could have had help beside Felicia that day?"

While the aforementioned thief gives her lover a frown, not appreciating the way he said that, Julia tilts her head back and forth in response, "Potentially. But the outcome wouldn't have been as good."

"What outcome? What good came from that day?"

Julia stays silent as Peter stares at her incredulously, waiting for her to answer. Julia just waits for someone else to answer his question.

Felicia recalls the day, and though she had fun the real highlight was what happened in the end. "His confession to me." Felicia says in realization and looks at Julia in shock, "That's what you helped make happen."

Peter whips his head to her before he looks back at Julia in surprise as the seer nods in confirmation. "Yes. If he had help that day from any other, then it would have likely ended with you two parting ways without another word." Julia turns her sightless eyes to the thief, "Or something similar to what happened with Daredevil."

Felicia has the decency to turn her gaze down in shame in the mention of that. She will admit that the reason she kissed and went home with the horned hero was because she wanted to make Spider-Man jealous. Nothing happened because the man got a call and ran off before he finished what they started. But Peter doesn't know that.

She gives a guilty side glance at the hero, who is trying not to think ill of his friends. They were both single, attractive, consenting adults so they did nothing wrong. But just because they did nothing factually wrong, morally is certainly another question.

Peter shakes his head and he refocuses on the possible day he would have had if he had the Avengers directly involved. It would have been easier, but if what Julia is saying is true then it would have ended with him being mad at one of his friends.

"I can't imagine her being with Steve or Tony." He says as he tries to see Felicia flirt with those two. In his opinion they are the most suitable bachelors on the team. But neither are her type.

"No." Julia shakes her head confirming his suspicions. But what she says next dampens his mood, "But if Thor were interested…"

'Crap.' Peter thinks gloomily as he remembers the good-looking deity is single.

Thor is everyone's type.

Both girls think about the Norse god and MJ nudges the platinum blonde while she gives a teasing smirk, "Lucky you."

Felicia huffs in amusement but when Peter whips his head and narrows his eyes at them, both girls look away. They forget how insecure he is.

The hero puffs his chest to show he is confident and not bothered, "Well sure he's good-looking, but what else does he have?"

Felicia hums before she responds, "Well he does have a magical hammer."

Peter scoffs, "I held that hammer. It's not so magical." He pauses as the two women look at him with raised brows. He clicks his tongue, "I am now just realizing that 'hammer' was a euphemism."

The two nod in sync with tightened lips.

Jean again has a flat look on her face as she says, "Can you please stay focused."

"Sorry." He says a bit sheepishly before he clears his throat. "So you did me a favor that day, why?"

Julia nods and informs him, "I do have your best interests at heart. Both in regards to you being the champion of the web and because you are a friend. This was my way of showing that."

Well now he feels a little bad for what he said to her. But after years of dealing with the original Madam Web, Cassandra, and expecting something different with Julia, his agitation isn't unfounded. Still, so far, Julia is a step up from Cassandra. He gives her an abashed and grateful look and says, "Thank you."

Julia simply nods and says nothing else. She understands his frustrations. Even she is frustrated. For all her power, she often feels powerless. She can see into the future but can do very little in regards to changing it for the better. Because in trying to change it, she could end up doing irreparable damage.

Like informing him what she now knows about him thanks to Strange.

"So what about my whole Phoenix situation?" He says taking her out of her thoughts, "I mean it's tethered to the Web, literally. Does him being here affect the egg?"

Julia turns her sightless gaze to the side as she responds "For now it doesn't seem so. He is not mature enough."

Felicia points to Peter and jokingly inquires, "And he is?"

Peter gives the thief a pouty frown while Julia grins and clarifies, "Physically mature enough."

"Ah that makes more sense."

Peter rolls his eyes, "First, rude." He says before he looks back at Madame Web and asks, "Second, why does his age matter?"

Julia turns her head back at him and explains, "Age is very important. You were chosen when you were young but old enough to learn. When you reached your adult years, you were challenged more. At the quarter of your life, when your abilities reached their peak, you needed to evolve."

"Quarter life? You mean twenty five?" He questions before what she said in the middle catches him, "Wait did you say adult? Like a legal adult?"

Julia simply nods in confirmation.

Peter looks back at Pete with worry, "Oh crud, he's less than a year away from that."

Julia nods again, "Now you understand the situation better." Julia gets up from her seat and walks to the frozen teen. "He needs to leave this time before he comes of age. But he cannot return to his time."

MJ and Felicia are confused by that and the thief asks, "Why not?"

"Because he's here." Peter informs them still looking at his younger self, "Even though it's been a day, going back would still change the future. Our present."

Jean nods in confirmation, "Exactly. Hank's plan to just have Charles Xavier erase their memories was foolish. Because even if Xavier erases or block their memories and his own, there are still many events he won't know about or be able to avoid, that will result in the knowledge of the future being discovered and it will be catastrophic."

True enough Spider-Man knows what she is talking about. He may not have gotten involved with the X-Men a lot but he has heard the stories from Bobby that Xavier had his head messed with when he was vulnerable. And one incident in particular that occurred is certainly cause for concern.

"Onslaught." Peter says as he looks down in concern, "Lot of damage done by him."

Jean nods again, "Exactly. So you see why they cannot return."

Peter nods as well and looks at the two women, "So what do we do?"

Julia gets up from her seat and tells him, "Unfortunately you will have to figure that one out yourself."

Peter groans, "Seriously?" He says in frustration, "You won't tell me?"

"I can't because I do not know." Julia informs him, "I've told you there is no longer any certainty in your future. I can see possible solutions but telling you them will likely lead to greater consequences."

Peter groans and rubs his eyes in frustration. This is very typical but not surprising. He stops rubbing his eyes and asks the seer, "Is there anything you can tell me or do for us?"

Julia turns her head in his direction, "I suggest you do not do this alone. And I will keep an eye on him."

Well better than nothing he supposes. "Alright."

Jean nods, satisfied somewhat by their conversation, "That's all we've come to discuss. We will be taking our leave now."

As they seem to head out, a thought occurs to Peter. "Wait!" He shouts, making everyone jerk back, "Hang on."

He goes to his room leaving everyone there perplexed, except Jean who has a flat look on her face. He comes back with a marker in hand and heads over to his younger counterpart with very clear intentions.

All the women shout, "Peter!"

"Oh come on!" He says indignantly, his marker inches away from the teen's frozen face, "I've got to do it at least once!"

"To yourself?" MJ and Felicia question, perplexed by this course of action.

He looks back at the teen. In all honesty, it doesn't bother him doing this to the younger version of himself. Self-loathing makes one very self-destructive.

He clips the marker close with a sigh before he looks to the redheaded telepath, "Well can you at least put him to sleep? He's likely got questions that I have no desire to answer right now."

Jean considers his request for a second before she adheres to it. A simple mental command and Pete suddenly begins to snore sitting up before he collapses onto his side. The teen has his arm hanging off the couch with his head and legs in a rather uncomfortable position.

Seeing this, Peter nods and says, "Thank you, I appreciate-" When he turns back to the telepath, he sees she and Julia are both gone. He frowns, "Well that was rude. Didn't even say goodnight."

Just taking the disappearing act in stride, the two shared lovers of the hero look to him as Mary Jane asks, "So now what?"

He slumps in exhaustion and answers, "Now we sleep." He looks to the young sleeping teen before he walks to him and sets him in a more comfortable position. "Tomorrow I'm heading over to the mayor's office to explain things to Jonah. Then over to the Baxter Building to talk to Reed and get Tony and talk about this to see what they can do to help."

Felicia raises a brow at his back, "No offense to any of your friends or their science, but wouldn't someone like Strange be a better choice, considering what we're dealing with here?"

Peter considers her question for a moment before he shakes his head, "It was science that got us into this mess, it has to be science that gets us out."

"Why?"

"Trust me." He simply says before he covers the teen up in a spare blanket he has.

He heads off to his bed, the girls in tow, without another word. It goes without saying that people like Reed, Tony, Hank and himself would find it both insulting and demoralizing if they had to rely on magic to solve a problem science created. And though some cosmic nonsense is involved, that still doesn't change the fact that it was science that caused the problem. So they'll put their brains together to fix it.

Hopefully.

(Next Day, Early Morning, Mayor's Office)

It is now early in the morning when Mayor J. Jonah Jameson sits at his desk looking over important documents concerning matters of his city. Requests for funding for city projects, letters of intent, and a request for his backing on the Church of Humanity.

He slams the paper down in a huff, "Hmph! The nerve of these zealots!" He angrily says to himself as he picks up another document, "Why'd they believe for a second I'd be in support of their disgusting organization is baffling!"

Tap tap tap.

A knock on his window prompts him to turn around and see a familiar masked mena- man. He mentally corrects himself that the man is not the menace he once believed he was. A trouble magnet maybe but not the cause of all the trouble that he tends to be involved in.

However, as Jonah stands to open the window he sees another figure by the hero and he can't help but feel the need to blame the hero. Because right there hanging by the hero on his own web line, is a smaller Spider-Man.

Jameson opens the window and looks between the two, before giving the bigger one a hard look, "Explain."

"Good morning to you too." Spider-Man dully greets the mustached mayor before he flips into the office. "What happened? Your mustache dye is on backorder?"

Jonah scowls at the hero and says, "Don't get cute with me." He then points to the smaller one that is still hanging by the window, "What is this?

Spider-Man sighs exhaustively, "Complicated." He sees the mayor's frown and knows he will not be happy until he knows more, "Okay, okay. He's me from the past. Around the time I was seventeen since he mentioned something about missing homecoming."

Jonah reels back in shock, "You're kidding." He whips his head back and forth between the two before he focuses on the older one, "You traveled to the future."

"Well, not me." Spider-Man says before he corrects himself, "I mean obviously he's me but I didn't do what he did. Or is doing." He groans and rubs his forehead, "Like I said it's complicated."

Jameson looks at the younger hero with a furrowed brow. He doesn't know what to think or say here. The teen just stares back at him with his mask still on.

"I'm surprised he's staying quiet," Jonah comments.

Spider-Man glances at the teen and says, "I told him if he talks I'll spank him."

The mayor raises an eyebrow at the hero for the bizarre threat. But before he can comment further, a knock followed by the doors to his office opening prompts the three gentlemen to turn their attention to the entrance.

In walks Silver Sable in her work attire with her eyes on some papers. "Mayor Jameson, I'm sorry to interrupt but my schedule is-" She stops when she sees who else is in the room, "Spider-Man?

Spider-Man blinks in surprise at the woman, "Silver? What're you doing here?"

She stops just next to the man and informs him, "Your illustrious mayor hired me and the Wild Pack to investigate how the weapon was smuggled into the city." She holds out the files she has in hand to the mayor, "He said that he couldn't trust the officials to conduct the investigation since it is likely someone on the inside was involved."

Jameson takes the files from her and declares, "And for good reason! How else would a nuclear weapon get smuggled into my city?"

"WHAT!?" The once silent teen shouts in shock and terror, "THERE WAS A-MMPH!"

Spider-Man clamps the teen's mouth shut with his hand and tells him, "Calm down! We don't need to cause a panic!"

With the shouting, likely someone outside the office would hear.

Jameson gives him a side glance, "Hmph! And just a few days ago you wanted a parade."

"It was a joke. You need a sense of humor."

Jonah frowns at him but doesn't say anything else and just looks at the lengthy folder the mercenary gave him.

Silver was very thorough in her investigation. Details about which officials need to be brought in and who paid for it all.

Speaking of whom, the Symkarian citizen looks between the two spandex heroes and can't help but ask, "Is this an illegitimate child of yours?"

Spider-Man gets affronted by the question, "No! Do I come off as someone who would have one?"

Silver shrugs her shoulders, "In all fairness, I do not know you that well. I know you only as the man wearing a mask." She then steps closer to him and gives him a genuine smile, "But perhaps that can change?"

"What?"

She seems nervous for a second before she takes a breath and says, "I haven't stopped thinking about you since we kissed."

Spider-Man gets taken aback, he wasn't expecting that. While he hasn't had a chance to really think about it, the kiss with Silver was one he could not forget. That amount of passion from someone he only ever considered an acquaintance took him by surprise. He feels a little guilty in not giving it more thought, what with the future vision of Otto and all, but now with the woman in front of him, he remembers how he felt during that kiss.

Silver meanwhile means what she said in thinking about the kiss she shared with Spider-Man. In truth, it was just meant to show him how grateful she was to his aid. As it seemed that the mayor was being his usual angry self when it came to the hero. She did not expect to lose herself in it. To her it seemed as if the rest of the world had simply vanished. Gone were all her woes and worries, and only she and him were present.

Until the mayor spoke and reality returned with his tirade of how she was hurting her image in fraternizing with the masked vigilante. Though now it seems that the mayor no longer harbors resentment towards the masked man if his presence in the office is any indicator.

"Wilson Fisk?!" And it seems history repeats itself as the mayors shout brings the two out of their musing. They look to the mayor as he read the field Silver handed him with a gobsmacked expression. "Wilson Fisk smuggled the weapon into the city?!"

The hero whips his head to the mayor in shock. "Wait what?" Spider-Man looks back to Silver questioningly.

With the moment now gone, the mercenary is back in her business mode and nods in confirmation, "It's true. During my investigation, I discovered that Wilson Fisk had a hand in smuggling the nuke into the city."

Spider-Man shakes his head in disbelief, "That doesn't make any sense. Fisk is a businessman, sure, and smuggling a weapon of mass destruction is not something he'd be against doing, but to his own city? No way. Where's the profit?"

She steps past the hero and slips a piece of paper out from the file the mayor has, "Actually upon closer inspection of the bomb, we discovered that it was rendered inert. It had all the makings of a nuclear weapon but the most damage it could have caused was about the same as a typical hand grenade."

Spider-Man nods, "That makes more sense. For a second, I was worried Two Tons of Fun finally lost his marbles." He looks at Silver curiously, "So he sold them a dud? Why?"

Silver shrugs, "I haven't the foggiest idea. My job was to simply ascertain who smuggled the bomb into the city."

"That's kind of cold don't you think." Spidey comments.

Silver regards the younger hero for a moment before she inquires, "Who is this exactly?"

Spider-Man sighs before he answers, "Long story short, this is me when I was younger. He traveled to the future, our present."

Silver becomes shocked, "How?

"It's complicated."

Silver looks at the teen with an even more critical eye, "I did not know you were so young when you…" She turns her attention to the older hero and asks, "How old were you when you started?"

"Fifteen." Spider-Man answers.

"Fifteen?!" Silver shouts gobsmacked by this revelation, "Why would you do this sort of thing at that age?!"

A question he's often been asked by those in the know and care about him. One that Spidey decides to answer, "With great power, there must also come great responsibility."

Silver quiets down at this, "Your mantra."

Spidey looks at her curiously, "You know it?"

"We've worked together a long time, I've done my homework on you." The mercenary says. She gives the two heroes a critical look, "But still at that age, you really had no business being involved in such a life."

Spider-Man nods and comments, "So I've been told."

"So then why?" Silver questions.

Spider-Man shrugs and simply says, "Because if I don't, who else will?"

"The proper authorities, that's who!" Jonah shouts from his position at his desk. He gives the hero a harsh look as he continues to rant, "You should have just gone to prom and stayed out of this nonsense!"

"I thought we were good now!"

Jonah simmers down as he is reminded. "We are. Still doesn't mean you weren't an idiot."

Spider-Man frowns at his old boss. Guess he should've expected this sort of thing from him. The man thrives on being angry, and the greatest source of his anger has always been the hero, so there is still some residual resentment in him. He just hopes that Jmaeson will not let it cloud his judgment anymore and he'll be really supportive of the team Spider-Man will be leading.

Spider-Man clicks his tongue before he says, "Well as much as I'd like to stand here and let you insult me some more, I've got a busy day." He heads toward the window with his mini-me in tow. He turns back to say, "It was good seeing you again, Silver."

"Likewise, Spider-Man." Silver responds with a nod.

The hero and his young counterpart leap out the same window they came in from. They web zip up the building to the roof and find their waiting companions. Red Sonja leaning against an air conditioner and Black Cat leisurely laying on top of it in her side.

When they had awakened this morning they told their shared lover that they would be accompanying him on his travels for the day. At first the hero was reluctant and tried to assure them that all he was doing was talking to his friends and associates to try and come up with a solution with them. The two ladies mentioned that he has a tendency to get into trouble even when he's not looking for it, so to make sure he stays out of it or at least gets out of it quickly, they'll be accompanying him.

Black Cat, from her spot on the air conditioner, boredly asks, "So how'd it go?"

"About what'd you'd expect with Jonah now being cool with me." Spider-Man answers her with a shrug.

"So he called you an idiot."

"Yeah."

Spidey has his eyes behind him before he looks to his older counterpart, "So who was that Silver lady?"

Both ladies look at the young hero before they give the older one accusatory looks. "Silver? Silver Sable? She was there?" Black questions.

Sending a quick glare at his younger counterpart, he sighs before he explains, "Yes she was. Jonah hired her to investigate how the nuke was smuggled into the city."

The thief frowns in remembrance of the regal foreign mercenary. How the woman just blatantly kissed him and saying it was a 'thank you', and yet there was more tongue involved than necessary.

Spider-Man clears his throat and smugly states, "Anyway, I told you guys nothing big was gonna happen. It pays to be optimistic."

Red Sonja raises an eyebrow in challenge, "How often do you have a quiet day?"

Spider-Man deflates as he gets silent. He tries to recall his last quiet day.

He fails.

(Avengers Tower)

"I told you my toys were just as good as Stretch's."

"My equipment are not toys, Tony."

"Do you play with them?"

"I conduct serious scientific experiments with them."

"That's a yes."

Spider-Man and Co watch on as the two geniuses have a bit of a tiff while also looking at the data from analyzing the time-displaced teen they have in a soundproof pod. Nearby Steve Rogers is watching with a tired look on his face. For what the cause of the look is anyone's guess.

The hero and his companions were originally heading to the Baxter Building but when he called Tony this morning the billionaire insisted that he go to Avengers Tower. For the reasons that he is stating to the other genius.

When they arrived the hero and his companions were greeted by both Rogers and Stark and headed inside to the Iron Avengers laboratory. That is where Richards was waiting patiently with a soundproof pod as requested by Spider-Man. The reason? He needed to have a conversation with the three men that he did not want the teen to hear.

Steve sighs and looks to the spandex-wearing hero, "Explain again what is going on."

Understanding why it needs to be repeated, since even he is barely understanding, Spider-Man explains, "Okay, so if you remember me mentioning when I came back, it was during the trial that the living embodiment of space and time known as Eternity was upset over how we disregard the delicacy of the space and time continuum. And though Uatu pointed out that despite this, we have undone both the damage we've done and that of other beings."

Steve nods and says, "That much I understand. What I don't understand is why we can't simply send him back?"

Spider scratches his head, "They're like bullets, sending them back would hurt as much as keeping them here. Maybe more so."

Steve frowns in confusion, "So removing them is like surgery?"

"Unfortunately this is surgery on a cosmic being, so it's not that simple." Reed points out.

'Is anything ever with me?' Spider-Man sarcastically mentally muses to himself.

Steve sighs before he asks, "So what are our options?"

"You got me." Spider-Man responds with a shrug, "When it comes to time travel I leave it to the other geniuses."

Steve turns to the other geniuses as they both look at the data on their screens. Reed, with a contemplative look says, "Well if we take your analogy literally, removing them from space and time could result in Eternity healing himself."

"Yeah that option doesn't really fill me with comfort." Spider-Man says, "I may not like myself all that much right now, but that doesn't mean I want to see him go poof."

He gets several looks from everyone in the room, before Tony says, "Another option is we could try to place them on a separate timeline. One where they don't exist."

Spider-Man shakes his head, "Not an option. We have to restore the original timeline and somehow separate it from ours."

It's certainly a complicated situation they find themselves in. They can't simply send back the teens back to their original without causing a bigger mess. But also they can't let them stay since prolonged stay means huge problems later on.

"So restore the timeline while also making sure it gets separated." Tony simplifies the problem. He shakes his head with a sigh, "Thwippy, that is like trying to lasso the moon.

Spider-Man gives him a challenging look, "Are you telling me that you can't invent something that can lasso the moon?"

Tony gets a thoughtful look before Steve puts a stop to that thought. "Don't provoke him. And don't you dare." He orders Spider-Man and Tony respectfully. The last thing he needs is for Tony to rise to the challenge. "Why did Hank do this?"

Spider-Man shrugs and responds, "Man was desperate and dying. Bad combination for a genius."

That is something Peter understands all too well. Now knowing what he knows, he figures Mephisto took advantage of him in a weak moment.

Steve frowns, "Normally I would go over there and reprimand him, but things are still tense between us. So since you'll be leading a team that unifies Avengers and X-Men, I'll trust your judgment on how to approach this."

"Oh I've already got that covered," Spider-Man says. Steve raises an eyebrow in question, "Before we left the school, I whipped up a little something special and turned our blue furry monster into a pink furry monster."

Steve gives him a bizarre look as both Reed and Tony turn their attention to him, "Say again."

Spider-Man smiles, it can be seen through his mask, and proudly says, "I used what he had in his lab and sprayed it all on him. His fur is now naturally pink for a week."

Steve stares at him in stupefaction before he drops his head with a sigh. Tony silently laughs and nods in approval while Reed shakes his head but still smiles in amusement.

Behind him, Sonja and Cat roll their eyes as Black Cat says, "You are so immature."

Spider-Man shrugs shamelessly, "Hey, the man brought a young me into the future. He's lucky I just decided to embarrass him in front of his friends and coworkers and not in front of all his students. Besides, it was between that and shaving him."

Before the discussion continues, the door to the lab opens with a hiss and in walks the Black Widow. She is fiddling with her wrist gauntlets so she doesn't see she walks past Spider-Man and company. "Tony, these improvements you've made on my widows bite are not your best."

Tony gets an offended expression, "Blasphemer, bite your tongue. What's wrong with them?"

Instead of vocalizing the issue she demonstrates by firing her widow's bite at the billionaire.

"Ow!" Tony exclaims as he recoils from the electrifying shock. He takes the thing off his chest and looks at the dangerous Russian gobsmacked, "Was that necessary?"

Natasha shrugs uncaringly, "If you had done it right, then you'd be unconscious." She says before she notices the pod and who is in it. "Spider-Man?"

"Present." The older one announces from behind her.

She glances at the two women behind him, before she looks back and forth between the two Spider-Men before she focuses on the older one, "What is going on?"

Spider-Man considers the pros and cons in telling her before he decides just to trust her. "Beast brought a young me and the OG X-Men from the past to the present for reasons he has yet to fully explain. And we can't send them back due to some extenuating circumstances."

He wonders how many times he's gonna have to explain this to people.

She glances back at the teen in the pod, "Should this be something to be concerned over?"

"For now, no." He answers honestly.

He would tell her more, but he doesn't see the benefit in doing so. So for now he'll keep mum.

Widow looks back to companions and Spider-Man sees this and assumes she needs an introduction. "Oh Natasha, Sonja and Black Cat. Girls the Black Widow."

They nod in greeting, which she returns before she focuses on the platinum blonde, "I've heard of you. Second to none when it comes to being a thief."

A bit taken aback by the praise, Black Cat's lips curl up a little, "You sound impressed."

"In my line of work, skills like yours are appreciated." Widow stated before she focuses on her fellow redhead, "You I've only met recently but I am impressed by how well you handled yourself with the Red Skull incident."

Sonja raises a brow, "Thank you."

Natasha turns back to her fellow arachnid-themed hero, "Although the fact that you managed to convince the both of them to be with you is the real impressive feat."

Spider-Man groans, "Does everyone know?"

"Tony sent out a mass text."

Spider-Man gives the billionaire a dull glare while said billionaire smiles back at him cheekily. Before he can say anything, his younger self speaks over the com in the pod and inquires, "Can I come out now?"

The young man had remained silent in the pod and waited patiently for them to conduct their tests on him. After about half an hour or so he got bored and shut his eyes for a quick nap. When he opened them and saw that they were all basically standing around he figured they were done.

Tony presses a button on his pad and the pod opens with a hiss. The teen sits up and looks around questioningly, "So what's the verdict? Is it a boy or a girl? Or twins?"

Most of the grown ups give him flat looks or roll their eyes. Widow turns her flat look to the older hero, "Wow. Even after all this time your sense of humor has not improved."

Spider-Man gasps as he holds his hand over his chest, "Reiterating what Tony said, blasphemer, bite your tongue."

Rolling her eyes she looks back to the teen hero and inquires, "How old is he anyway?"

"Seventeen."

Natasha nods before she turns her attention back to the new Avengers team leader, "How you went from that to a man that convinced three women to be with you simultaneously is nothing short of miraculous."

"WHAT?!"

Spider-Man winces at his younger shout. But not because of the volume, but because of the revelation. Widow looks at the teen with a raised brow before she turns it to Spider-Man, "He didn't know?"

"I'm trying to keep him from knowing too much." He informs her, "Preventing the collapse of the space-time continuum and all that."

Not the truth but better than admitting the embarrassing truth.

The teen in the room is completely floored by this new information, "I-I just thought that they were, like, competing over me! I-I didn't think that they were-! A-and all three of them!? Did- Do I emit some kind of pheromone that makes me attractive now!?"

From behind the teen, Tony gets a contemplative look, "You know, that would explain everything."

Spider-Man gives the billionaire another dull look before he walks over to the teen who is still trying to process this new information. Leaving the three women alone.

Natasha looks at the two women and asks, "So what was it that he did to convince you two to go along with this?"

Seeing no harm in it, Felicia thumbs to the warrior beside her, "Actually Red here was the one who convinced me to join in on the fun."

Red Sonja gives the thief a glance before focusing on the spy. "I am not just a single person. I am a spirit inhabiting a woman who was deemed worthy to wield my power. I have my own thoughts and feelings as does she, but we are still one. Our circumstance means that any man we are with must be one we both approve of for the most part."

Natasha raises an eyebrow, "Meaning what?"

"A way for her to be rid of me would be for her to lay with a man that has not defeated us in battle." Sonja explains. She nods to the hero who is conversing with the other geniuses, "Spider-Man has proven himself to be a worthy warrior, though that was something we already knew."

Nat nods, understanding what she is saying, and then gestures to Black Cat, "And where does she fit in all this?"

Sonja simply shrugs, "He loves her and she him. My host loves him. I love him." Bold statements that make Natasha look at both of them with surprise. Sonja huffs in amusement at this and says, "I understand that it may seem strange but I come from another time. Such practices, while not common, were not unheard of. And be honest, is our lifestyle choice really the strangest thing you've come across?"

Well Natasha can't argue with that. Being an Avenger means she has been involved in plenty of weird situations that the average person would not be able to comprehend. And personal matters tend to also fall into that same weirdness category.

Before she asks any more questions, Spider-Man and his young self walk back to the three women with Captain America in tow. The good Captain is rubbing his face and seems to be having a conversation with them, "…money that I have, if you stop."

"You don't have that much." Spider-Man says with amusement in his voice, "And I'm sure Tony would pay me more to keep going just to spite you."

The three women look at them curiously as Natasha asks, "What exactly are you talking about here?"

"The name of his shield." Spidey informs the spy. He points to his older self and says, "Big me said that Cap never gave his shield a proper name. And I agree that he's had the thing long enough that he has to give her a name."

Natasha tries not to let out a smile as she sees Steve's exhausted look. She remembers the day that it became a running joke in trying to name Steve's shield despite the man's clear reluctance to do so. Most of the Avengers were immediately on board with harassing the man with names and the remaining few saw how fun it was and joined in.

Now the poor man is stuck dealing with everyone he works with throwing names out.

Said owner of the shield sighs, "I regret everything I've done to deserve this."

"Does that include meeting me?" Spider-Man jokes.

"Yes." Steve's immediate response makes the spandexed hero reel back a bit. The good captain walks away without another word.

"Sheesh, someone is sensitive." Spider-Man mumbles to himself.

"You started a running joke that unless he yields on the matter, which is not likely to happen any time soon, he has to live with it." Natasha points out oh so eloquently.

Spider-Man waves off her comment, "Oh like that's the worst thing we've done to him."

Natasha concedes to that as Sonja asks, "Is that all that's needed to be done for today?"

"Almost," Spider-Man tells her. He looks to his young self and says, "Knowing myself all too well, I'm guessing that you're gonna go out and patrol. I can't really stop you without putting you in a box, no matter how tempting that is. So I ask that if you need help, don't hesitate to ask."

Spidey doesn't seem to like the idea but concedes with a nod. He figures since he's in another time he does need help for some stuff. The internet is still very confusing to him.

"Good." Spider-Man nods in satisfaction, "Tony and Reed said if you need anything, like food or supplies, then come over here or the Baxter Building."

Spidey looks around the lab of the billionaire and does like the idea of coming here for supplies, "Cool. So can I go now?"

"No." Widow speaks up as she walks up to the teenage hero, "You're with me. Need to test and see if you're up to snuff."

Spidey doesn't like that glint in the spy's eye. It seems to promise pain. "Do I have to?"

"Yes." The Redheaded Russian simply says as she walks past him. "Don't dally. I've got things I need to do."

Spidey watches her before he looks at his older self. Spider-Man merely shrugs and says, "Just go. She'll hunt you down if you don't."

A beautiful woman hunting him down does not sound unappealing but that woman shot a man with an electric taser to prove a point. He doesn't want to know what she'd do to someone who blows her off. He follows after the spy with trepidation. He doesn't know what to expect but he believes he'll regret coming to the future very soon.

The throuple watches the young teen follow the spy before Spider-Man turns his attention to the two women, "Okay you girls can head home and grab your bags. I'm gonna head over to Hell's Kitchen and talk to Daredevil to see if he can keep an eye on him and my area."

Both girls raise their brows at him and Cat says, "We're gonna come with you."

Spider-Man nods before he shakes his head and says, "Yeah~ no you're not."

Quickly realiing why he seems to want them to go away, Felicia rolls her eyes in exasperation, "Oh for- Is this about what happened between me and him?" Cat asks in frustration.

"Yes."

Felicia would like to tell off her shared lover, but she bites her tongue and swallows her pride. "Nothing happened." She says, surprising him and MJ. "It was about to happen but then he got a call and bailed. Happy?"

"I won't lie and say I'm not relieved." The hero tells her. He sees she's quite angry so he only says, "Look, I know you and I weren't together, but what you did hurt.

Felicia resists the urge to roll her eyes and looks away, "That's why I did it. I was upset with you and I figured I could use your friend to get back at you." This time she does roll her eyes in annoyance, "And maybe get a decent lay. You make it hard to find better partners."

Whatever resentment or jealousy Spider-Man had is now replaced with pride and satisfaction. A big smile is evident through his mask as he tries to casually say, "I'm a very selfless person. I give and I give."

The thief glares at him, "Stop being smug."

"I can't help it."

(Hell's Kitchen)

Less than half an hour later, Spider-Man lands on a rooftop of Hell's Kitchen. One where he rendezvous with the local street hero of the area.

"Double D, you around?" He calls out loudly but not in a shouting manner, "Need some help here."

As he waits patiently for his fellow street hero to show up, he gets lost in thought over everything that's happened since he came back. He has tried to live up to his Uncle Ben's words of growing up, trusting more, and making sure his Peter Parker life matters as much as Spider-Man's. But it hasn't been easy. This whole thing with him and the time-displaced teens is just one of the recent issues. He's still got the Red Skull one, finding where Otto is, and the whole debacle with Mephisto.

'And now Kingpin is smuggling nuclear weapons into the city.' He reminds himself, making him silently groan. It seems like no matter what he does, something always pops up around the comer to make him detour his plans.

His first instinct is to postpone the vacation he has planned with the girls. But he knows if he does he'll never go. There is never a quiet moment in his life that will allow him to take time away from the city. Even if he solves something going on in his life, something else will immediately pop up.

Heck, current events have just proven that. He's getting his life outside the mask together, better than ever really, and the world is throwing curveballs and foul balls and fastballs in his Spider-Man life.

The only way he sees these situations going his way is if he uses what life throws at him. All the curveballs and fastballs and everything. 'They're hard to hit but not impossible. Just gotta read the pitch and adjust my swing.'

His thoughts are interrupted when he hears Daredevil's batton wrap around a vent. And up swings his fellow red colored hero.

The man lands in a roll. "Spider-Man." The devil of Hell's Kitchen greets him with a nod, "Any particular reason you wanted to talk to me."

Not wanting to waste time, he gets right to it. "I need a favor." He tells him about his past self being here, his desire to take a much-needed vacation to work on his new relationship, and how he needs his fellow street heroes to watch over his younger counterpart. He explains his situation as best as he can with as much detail as DD needs without rambling or over-explaining. "So can you watch him and my area?"

Daredevil sits on the vent he swung on with a contemplative frown, "You're asking a lot here."

Spider-Man nods, "I know and I wouldn't be if it wasn't important."

Daredevil doesn't say anything else. He continues to consider the request and Spider-Man wonders what the 'Man Without Fear' is worried about. He doesn't feel like he's asking for much. Just to make sure his younger self doesn't get into something more than he can handle. He knows that he can take care of himself but the crime fighting has gotten a lot tougher and more complicated.

Daredevil opens his mouth to say something but then suddenly tenses up and whips his head to the rooftop entrance. Spider-Man raises a brow at the man's action. Wondering what is making him so jumpy.

His answer comes when the door opens and a familiar voice speaks up.

"Hey Matt, Luke and Jess just called me and said they need me to-"

The woman who had just exited the rooftop entrance stops short when she sees that the man she called out is not alone on the rooftop. And while said man sighs, Spider-Man is floored by how he sees.

"Squirrel Girl?"

The bushy-tailed heroine smiles jubilantly, "Hey Spider-Man!"

The spandexed-wearing hero stares at the casually dressed woman in shock. "Hey." He says with a small wave before he asks the obvious, "What're you doing here?"

"Oh, nothing." She says as she walks up to Daredevil and hugs the man's arm, "Just spent the night with my cuddle buddy here."

"…Cuddle buddy?"

Okay, now he has even more questions.

Daredevil sighs before he turns his sightless gaze to the woman hanging on him. "Doreen, you said you have somewhere to go."

She laughs and smiles at him, "Aw that's so cute. You're all shy now. Where was that bashfulness when you were-"

"Doreen." He says in a warning tone.

But Doreen just laughs it off, "I'm just teasing." He kisses the horned hero on the cheek, "I'll call you later."

The woman walks away with a skip in her step. She leaps across the rooftops, unaware the two heroes watch her go. For different reasons.

They both stay silent for different reasons as well. Matt would have preferred to have kept this new relationship of his a secret. Not because he's embarrassed by it but more because he knows what most would think.

"So you and Squirrel Girl," Spiderman breaks the silence with a perplexed look, "When that happened?"

DD sighs, "It was during that Kree thing. I ran into her again and, well one thing led to another."

Spider-Man nods, but not in understanding. "Huh."

Daredevil gets a frown, "What?"

"Nothing. It's just…" Spider-Man struggles to find the right words, "I don't see how this works with you two." Daredevil gives him an offended frown as Spider-Man continues, "She is so peppy and sweet, and you're… not."

"Says the man in a relationship with an ancient warrior and a thief and has nothing in common with either."

Huh, maybe opposites do attract. "Touché." Spider-Man says before he refocuses, "So you'll cover for me and watch over him?"

Daredevil sighs. "Fine."

"Thank you. I appreciate this."

Matt grunts in response. Spider-Man figures he's not mad about the request but more to the new relationship discovery.

Before the spandex hero leaves, he remembers something else. What he discovered back at the mayor's office.

"Actually before I go there is something that I should mention." He says with a very serious tone, "Kingpin smuggled a nuclear weapon into the city not too long ago."

"What!?" The man without fear shouts in horror.

"Easy." Spiderman raises his hands in a placating manner. "It was during the Symkaria pride parade. The Flag Smashers were planning to use it, but I stopped them with some help. But as I have been recently informed, even if the thing had gone off, it would have been something similar to a grenade."

The blind hero looks down in thought, "I've been hearing rumors that Fisk has been putting his hands in everything. Armament, drugs, and anything else that he can make a profit doing. And not just here in New York, but Texas and California."

Spider-Man was not aware of that. And the thought is terrifying to say the least. "So he's going nationwide. He is big enough for it."

Ignoring his fellow hero's attempt at humor, Daredevil says, "If he's posing a big threat as we hear then maybe it's best if you're here to help."

Spiderman winces at the request. He looks away in shame and responds with. "I can't.

"Spider-Man-"

"No." He says firmly to his fellow street hero, "I know what you're going to say, but if you had any idea on what I'm dealing with then…" He stops before he reveals more than he wants to. He turns and walks away, "I need to go."

Daredevil frowns at his fellow hero's lack of transparency. He would normally let his friends have their privacy, but from what he has heard over the hushed conversations, it sounds very dire. He needs to know more.

"I heard you talking to both Stark and Strange." Daredevil informs him and making the arachnid-themed hero stop and turn to him. "You want to tell me what that's about?"

Spider-Man doesn't turn around. He stays silent. Nothing but the typical sounds of the city can be heard. After a few moments of silence the hero says, "It's personal."

With that said, Spider-Man leaps and swings away. Daredevil observes his friend swing off and mutters to himself, "Can't be that personal if so many people know about it and it's as dire as it feels like it is."

Then again, it could be both personal and dire.

(Pier)

It is midday when Felicia and Mary Jane find themselves standing at the dock by a yacht waiting patiently for their shared beau to show up. Both wearing sunglasses, blue and green sun hats respectively, and wrappings to cover their bottoms. They have bags at their feet and purses in hand.

MJ is has her phone out waiting for a call or notification. Something to tell her what she expects. Something came up and he can't make it. She closes her eyes with a sigh and puts her phone away into her bag, "Nothing yet."

Felicia senses the disappointment coming from the redhead and nudges her to reassure her. "He'll be here. He said he would."

"I know." MJ says as she leans on the railing of the pier, "Still I feel like we should have stayed with him when he went to Hell's Kitchen."

"Why?"

She just shrugs and responds, "Knowing his luck, something happened and he had to get involved."

Felicia nods and says, "You're probably right. And his mini-me will be just as bad as him."

At the mention of their shared beau's young counterpart, Mary Jane thinks about how typical something like that happens to him. Not this specifically, but something crazy always seems to happen at the worst time possible that disrupts his life in some way. And any plans he made are put on the back burner until whatever is going on is resolved. An admirable quality of his but also an insufferable one. Because he often apologizes and promises to do better only to go back and do it again.

Broken promise after broken promise leaves a bitter taste regardless of good intentions. Though this time he seems committed to going on vacation with the two women, however, Mary Jane suspects he likely feels guilty for doing so. Returning his younger self to his proper place does take precedence over their plans, no matter how they feel. It hurts but as they've learned over the years, feelings don't matter when it comes to the facts.

MJ frowns as she thinks on it some more. "Huh."

The sound grabs Felicia's attention, "What is it?"

"That whole thing with his young self being here," Mary Jane says as she gets a contemplative expression, "There's something weird about it."

Hardy gives the redhead a weird look and points out, "Red, it's a younger version of him from the past.

MJ rolls her eyes, "I know that." She says before she explains, "What I mean is that it fits perfectly into his Parker Luck, but at the same time it doesn't."

Now she has Hardy's full attention, "What do you mean?"

"That whole thing with the doorway to tomorrow, he learned what would happen to the world if he left for even a day." Not a pleasant memory but it helps to explain her reasons, "Now he has a past version of himself here around the time he decides to go on vacation. Normally, that would mean he has to stay and make sure it's resolved, but now…"

Felicia gives the model a questioning look before she gets contemplative one. She starts to think about how it seems to work in his favor but also not really at the same time. "It's a loophole."

MJ nods, "Exactly."

They look down in startling realization. It is too perfect. The situation with their shared beau's past self-being in the present should be an excuse he uses to delay their vacation plans, but instead he is dead set on going. And the world won't catch on fire because he'll still technically be here.

Felicia casts a concerned look gaze to her fellow female. "It feels like we should be worried. Should we be worried?"

Mary Jane looks to Felicia and opens her mouth to respond but stops when she sees their shared beau running down the docks. Felicia turns her head in the same direction and both are surprised to see him. And wearing vacation clothes and with a suitcase in hand.

Peter slows down and seems to be out of breath. "Sorry, I'm so late. Had some last-minute issues and packing to deal with."

Hardy has her eyes on her phone and informs him, "Actually, you made it on time."

"I did?" Peter questions in surprise before he looks at the time on the thief's phone, "Holy smokes I did!"

Peter is pleasantly surprised by this. He has always had a tendency to arrive late to something. He either ended up missing something important and hurting those he cared about or he'd make those he cared about think he was just flaky and self centered. To actually arrive on time, especially with everything that has been going on, well maybe his luck is finally turning around.

Peter looks up in thought, "Boy, with everything that's been goin' on, you'd think that I'd stick around until it's all fixed. I mean I have every intention of resolving my whole past self being here but there's not much I can do now except wait and twiddle my thumbs while my friends come up with solutions."

The girls would like to discuss that matter some more, but seeing how eager he is to do this with them, they don't have the heart to do it. They glance at each other and silently agree to keep mum on it. For now at least.

Besides, it's likely just them being paranoid.

The man claps his hands, "Okay let's get this show on the road."

They smile at his enthusiasm and glance at each other again. Mary Jane nods at Felicia and the thief lifts a bag she had in her hand, "By the way." Hardy starts as she hands their beau a bag, "Because you made it on time, me and Red decided to reward you with this."

Peter takes it and asks, "What is it?"

"It's what we'll be wearing the entire time on the boat." Mary Jane answers.

Peter's face lights up. "Ooh. Well, let me take a peak at what I'll be tearing off with my-what the?" He stops and pulls out the contents of the bag. "There's nothing in here but whipped cream and chocolate syrup."

Both girls have expectant expressions as they wait for him to get the hint. His eyes widen in realization and looks at them with a gobsmacked look. Both smile and MJ nods while Felicia wiggles her eyebrows at him.

He hands them back the bag, "I'll get your bags!" He quickly says before he zips around grabbing their luggage and hauls it up the ramp, "Hoist the sails! Batten down the hatches!"

The girls shake their heads and huff in amusement as Felicia says, "God he's such a dork."

MJ nods with a loving smile, "Yeah but he's our dork."

They share a quick laugh before link their elbows together and walk up the ramp side by side. Both are excited and nervous about his vacation. They figure they would have a lot of fun together but it's the moments when things get quiet that'll be worrying. Because that's when they know they'll have to talk.

They reach the top as Peter continues to shout all sorts of pirate lingo.

"Hurry up ya siren's! The horizon be calling us!"

But with Peter, moments of silence are a rarity.
