A Couple's Getaway Goes Astray. Part One.
(Atlantic Ocean)
It is midday with a clear blue sky and in the middle of the vast clear blue sea, a single two-hundred-and-twenty-foot luxury yacht floats calmly and aimlessly with the sun shining high in the sky. The yacht has three levels, an outdoor hot tub and a landing pad on the top, a control room in the middle, and living quarters. And despite its immense size, there are only three occupants aboard the vessel at the moment.
Two of its occupants are currently outside by the hot tub, laying down on lounge chairs and basking in the sun in bathing suits and sunglasses.
The two are the ever-so-beautiful Mary Jane Watson and Felicia Hardy.
"Aaah." Felicia, in a two-piece white bikini with a pair of sunglasses on her head, releases a sigh of relief as she continues to tan herself, "I tell you red, this is how it should be. No bad guys. No big battles. No worries."
Mary Jane, in a two-piece black bikini and a pair of sunglasses over her eyes, releases her sigh of contentment as she states, "I'm not arguing Hardy." She places her arms above her head, "But as much as we like doing this, we both love someone, who despite being the best guy we know, tends to get into trouble."
"YEOWCH!"
Neither one of them so much as flinches from the sudden shout, "Case in point."
They hear some footsteps coming towards them and a shadow looms over them blocking their sun. They look and see their shared beau, Peter Parker, standing in front of them in only a pair of swim trunks.
And the man is currently sucking on a finger while glaring back into the yacht where the luxurious kitchen is.
Mary Jane lifts her glasses and decides to languidly ask the obvious, "What happened?"
Peter answers her with his finger in his mouth, "The stupid lobster pinched my finger." He then dramatically fists in the direction he came from. "I'm gonna enjoy having you for dinner, you crustaceous cretin!"
Mary Jane and Felicia shake their heads and smile in unison at their beau's behavior. They expect this sort of thing from him. They know how he tends to be and love him for it. He keeps things interesting.
Felicia sits up and puts on some more sunscreen as she asks, "I thought your spider sense warned you of incoming danger?"
"It does." He responds as he turns his attention back to them, "But if I'm too… distracted…then…" He trails off as he watches the platinum blonde rub herself with SO much lotion.
Seeing how he doesn't even finish his sentence Mary Jane rolls her eyes at him in amusement, "And this is why after the first day we vetoed the 'clothes are not to be worn on the yacht' rule."
That breaks Peter out of his thoughts as he gives her an offended look and says, "Hey of the three of us, who has more bite marks on their butt."
MJ bites her lips and keeps mum on that, already knowing the answer.
"It's a very biteable tushy." Felicia on the other hand has no issue pointing this out with a shrug, "Besides, I don't get why the rule was vetoed. None of us were complaining." She gives him a wicked grin as she rubs sunscreen on her chest, "I sure wasn't."
While Peter stares again, MJ gives the woman by her a flat look, "Because we are to try to have fun and relax. And while multiple orgasms are fun and relaxing-"
"Amen!" The other two say enthusiastically while rasing their hand in the air.
"-We can't keep relying on that." She says unperturbed by them, "We are going to use this vacation to work on this relationship of ours." She gives Felicia a look, "Let's be honest, there are a lot of issues we need to hash out."
The notorious thief looks away from her, "I think you and I talked plenty during the week, red."
Mary Jane nods before she turns to their shared beau, "Well it's not just us two."
Peter gets a surprised expression, "Me too?"
"You're a part of this relationship too, aren't you?" MJ rhetorically asks him.
Peter nods as he rubs the back of his head bashfully, "Yes okay, but my only real issue here would be favoritism. I'm gonna be driving myself up the wall to show that I love both of you. Not the same but not more than the other."
"We know." MJ assures him as she sits up, " I think we just need to open up to each other more." She stays quiet for a moment before she says, "Let's avoid hero talk and talk about things going on outside of that."
Peter nods, "Okay." He tries to think of something but comes up short on activities outside of Spider-Man, "Like what?"
Mary Jane figures he wouldn't have much going on outside of his costume so she already has a topic in mind, "Well, Felicia and I discussed opening a nightclub together."
Peter looks at her surprised, "You're kidding?"
He's not so much surprised at the prospect of either one doing such a thing. After all, nightclubs and bars, in general, are their natural habitats. He's more surprised that they are doing a thing like that together. They barely started their weird relationship, so their entering a business partnership so soon makes him worry that they are adding another layer of stress to this thing of theirs.
"Originally red was going to do it by herself," Felicia adds as she finishes putting on sunscreen and lays back on her lounge chair, "But she decided to bring me in at the last minute."
Not liking how she is making it sound, MJ looks at her and says, "I had the idea before we started this. It wasn't like-"
"I know red." Felicia interrupts with a teasing look, "I'm just messing with you." She says that but Mary Jane can tell she doesn't mean it. Not entirely at least.
Felicia is still not entirely convinced about this relationship of theirs. And in all honesty, neither is Mary Jane. She feels like she is playing a part. Just going along with her role. Which is to be one of Peter Parker's love interests. And while it's a role she absolutely and undoubtedly loves, my god does it take a lot of work to pull off. The craziness that comes along ruins the plans they have set.
Like just recently, the original X-Men were taken from the past by Hank McCoy to change what had happened to them. Namely, Scott Summers being a "revolutionary" leader to mutant kind. And they didn't come alone. They brought along Peter's past self as well. So now not only is he a leader of a new Avengers team, called Unity Squad no matter what Peter does to try and have it named 'Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends', but he's now got his young self to deal with.
And of course, she knows how important this all is. So while she supports him, it's not an easy thing to do.
While she is thinking this, she notices how quiet Sonja has been. The warrior has yet to say a peep on their vacation.
"I believe it's best that I let you three work out this yourselves." Sonja finally speaks. MJ frowns. She is starting to feel that Sonja is only in this for the sex.
"That is not entirely true." Sonja says and Mary Jane can feel she is genuinely offended, "The physical aspect is a great part but it's because of you that I actually fell in love with that man."
Mary Jane is aware of that. Sonja being in love with Peter is both because of the shared experiences she had with MJ and because of the supermodel's own feelings for the man. The warrior woman has observed the bravery the man has, along with a caring gentle heart, and a will that does not break easily. Sonja knows she loves him, not just because she is bonded to Mary Jane.
There are still some overlap issues the two redheads are trying to deal with. Not just regarding the emotional spectrum but the mental. As it turns out, when Sonja and or Mary Jane argue, it creates a sort of physical fatigue.
"We'll have to be more careful. I understand that we won't always get along despite our unique situation, but we shouldn't bring that out into the field."
"So anything else besides the nightclub?"
MJ is brought out of her thoughts by the question and Felicia shrugs while she answers for herself, "Not really. Civilian lifestyle isn't my thing remember. So that's the most I'm gonna do with it."
"C'mon Gorgeous," Mary Jane says with a taunting, "If you can handle the craziness that comes along with dating this guy with me," MJ jabs her thumb at their shared beau, "Then you can manage a club with me too."
Peter considers this for a moment before he nods in agreement, "That's actually a good point. It's a bit hurtful. But a good point."
He compares being in a relationship with him to climbing Mt. Everest. Even if you come prepared, you will not likely survive the experience.
Felicia rolls her eyes, "I'm giving up being a thief for the two of you, Beautiful. And that does not come easy since I'm trading it for a part-time membership to the Avengers."
"What's wrong with being a-You know what that's a stupid question." Peter quickly backtracks.
Felicia nods. "Exactly."
The notorious thief leans back on her chair to continue to relax. She would rather just keep doing what she enjoys. Breaking into the place she isn't supposed to be in and taking whatever tickles her fancy. But because she is in love with a man who is such a Boy Scout, she has to be a straight shooter.
'As far as he knows at least.' She mentally muses to herself. 'What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?'
She'll play it straight for the most part, but she will not deny the urge when it's far too tempting. If someone boasts of their security, or brags about having a priceless artifact, then she'll do what she wants. And if Peter finds out, well she'll deal with that too.
"You know there are perks to being a part-time Avenger." Peter starts.
But Mary Jane puts a stop to that. "No shop talk."
Peter winces at his slip, "Right, sorry." He tries to think about what he has going on that isn't about his alter ego, "Well my work at Horizon Labs is really dependent on what I can come up with," his face lights up, "Oh! I'm gonna go back to school and get my doctorate."
While Mary Jane was aware of this, Felicia was not. "Really?"
Peter nods, "Yeah, figured it's about time." 'More like way overdue.'
"How come you didn't get it back then?" She inquires.
He gets a guilty expression as he explains, "At the time I was still trying to find a way to balance my normal life with my spandexing. Obviously, I was only able to do so much. So I settled for my bachelor's degree." The shame on his face becomes more evident, "Putting my life as Peter Parker on the back burner."
He has been reminding himself constantly that he's done so much good as Spider-Man and that the sacrifices he's made were necessary. But he knows that sometimes, rarely really, they were unnecessary.
Seeing his downtrodden face, MJ tries to reassure him. "Hey, the important thing is that you're doing something about it now."
He gets a doubtful look, "Not so sure that's true."
"Sure it is." Felicia jumps in and comes up with an example, "If a released felon decides to make an honest living, that's what matters right?
Both Peter and MJ raise a brow at the thief's choice of an example. "I'm not sure if my situation is-" Peter stops when he feels his spider-sense go off.
The girls recognize this look and immediately get up on their feet. "What is it?"
Peter stands up and looks around as he answers, "I don't know. My spider sense is telling me something is wrong but-"
The boat jerks, making them lurch forward. They all look at each other to see if they're alright before the two ladies stand and turn their sights to the vast ocean. Trying to find what caused their boat to lurch and Peter's spider-sense to go off.
Though she doesn't see anything, Felicia keeps her sights on the ocean as she asks, "Tell me that tingle of yours was warning you about some rocks and not a giant octopus or something."
Peter rushes to the front of the yacht and leans over the rails to look into the water. He tries to see what caused the boat to lurch the way it did. 'The waters calm, so no giant octopus.'
Small victory there.
"What's that?" Mary Jane's voice gets him to look at her before he and Felicia follow her line of sight. They see a boat a good distance away.
Peter tilts his head. "Was that there before?" He questions rhetorically. He looks to Felicia and asks, "You got binoculars or something on this thing?"
Felicia nods, "There should be a pair in the room with the steering wheel."
"You mean the bridge?"
Felicia gives him an annoyed look, "I don't know. I'm not familiar with boat terms."
The three of them rush inside and head to the yacht's bridge. It takes them a few seconds to reach the room and when they do, Peter picks up the set that is on the helm. He goes to the window and uses the binoculars to get a better look at the boat. He's hoping it's just another vessel with nothing nefarious going on.
'Course with my luck it'll be filled with some smugglers.' He bleakly thinks to himself. He adjusts the binoculars to get a better look. The boat seems like a regular sailboat. But he doesn't see anyone on board.
"Looks deserted." He voices his observation to the girls.
"Should we radio it in?" Mary Jane inquires.
Peter gets a hesitant look. Normally with a situation like this, he would be getting involved personally, but he is trying to have a normal vacation. Which is kind of why he liked the idea of going out to the middle of the ocean. No villains to fight and no crooks to beat up. Just enjoying some relaxation with two amazing women. And to do that, he has to do something that is against his instincts.
Which is, if something is wrong, call for help.
So with some reluctance he picks up the radio on the control station and gets ready to call for help. He turns to the woman who owns the yacht, "What's this boat's name?"
Felicia raises a brow at him, "You're not gonna see what's wrong?"
"We're going over to see what's what." He explains his plan, "If nobody is on board then we'll let the authorities handle it. Much as it pains me to say something like that." He mutters out. "But we are pretty far out into the ocean. Not much we can do." Another painful thing to admit. He didn't bring his work clothes, so he can only do so much as Peter Parker if it turns into something outrageous. But he doesn't dwell on that and turns his attention to Felicia. "Boat's name?"
"It's a yacht." She corrects him before she looks away with a bit of an embarrassed expression. "And the name is…" She mutters something.
Both other occupants raise a brow at her as Peter says, "What?"
With a sigh and roll of her eyes, Felicia answers, "The SS Thong Magnet." Both MJ and Peter give her bewildered looks and Hardy gives them an annoyed one back as she quickly explains, "I stole it okay. And before you get all judgmental, the guy I took it off of was a total tool. He was married and he used this thing to pick up other women. Including his wife's sister and best friend."
They both look at her for a few more seconds before Mary Jane gives Peter a look that conveys to give the thief a break. If what Felicia is saying is true, then frankly Mary Jane is completely okay with what she did. Hell, she is tempted to ask the platinum blonde the guy's name and wife's phone number if the thief hasn't already ratted the guy out.
Peter, with a tiny bit of reluctance, lets the matter go. He turns the radio on and the moment he does, some voices can be heard. Now normally that wouldn't be strange, but what is strange is that the voices aren't coming in as a garbled mess. They're coming in clear.
Women's voices. And they are humming.
Peter gives the radio a worried look and says, "I'm seriously hoping this is just some new-age song." He presses the button and speaks into the mic, "Hello? Anyone out there?" He lets the button on the mic go and the humming continues. He presses it again, "Hello? This is the SS Thong Magnet." God that feels ridiculous to say, "Is anyone out there?"
Nothing but more humming. Eerie is the only word to describe the situation.
Peter sighs and places the mic back in its place, "Looks like we're gonna have to go investigate that boat ourselves."
Felicia raises a brow at him, "Sounds like you're disappointed."
"I honestly am." Peter admits, "I was hoping that we could avoid doing any heroics for this vacation. The fact that we lasted a whole day really boosted that optimism. But I guess the universe was only willing to give me a day."
MJ, with the want to keep that optimism alive, shrugs and says, "Maybe it's nothing to be worried about."
"My spider sense went off for a reason." He states not rudely but factually. He turns the yacht on and drives it to the other boat. "I just hope it's not full of drugs."
"…Would it be wrong if-"
"Yes." Both Peter and MJ cut her off.
Felicia crosses her arms with a pout, "You don't even know what I was going to say." They don't have to assume the worst. Her suggestion was not going to be anything illegal and only somewhat morally questionable.
Less than a minute later, Peter drives the yacht close enough to the boat for him and the girls to get on it. Him now wearing a shirt and the girls wearing some beach wrappings around their waists, hop over to the boat and investigate.
"Hello?" Peter calls out, "Anyone? Olly olly oxen free!"
No response. They walk around the surface of the ship and find some bottles of wine on the deck.
MJ picks up a bottle of wine, "It's half empty." She informs them as she looks over the bottle. "I don't recognize the brand. I think it's Greek."
Felicia, who is by the redhead, picks up an interesting item, "This is a whetstone." She says showing the object to the redhead, "People use this stuff to sharpen blades."
MJ raises a brow at her, "How do you know that?" Far as she knows, the thief doesn't and has never used swords before.
The thief shrugs casually, "I swiped a lot of valuable swords over the years. I had to research them to make sure I didn't get ripped off." She tosses the whetstone up a few times, "I found out that these things fetch a decent penny in the market."
It was early in her career when she first learned this lesson. She got ripped off the first few swords she stole before she did her due diligence and did research on them. She was mad at herself for not knowing this sooner because she had seen plenty of these things and thought they were worthless chunks of rock.
"Hey girls," They hear their shared beau call out from the inside of the boat, "Come look at this."
They head down the steps to where Peter is in the boat and find him in a bedroom. The room is small, has one porthole, and the bed is for a single person. But while one would expect a common bedroom, they instead see that it's a very nice one. The sheets and pillow are silk and satin respectively, there are some candles that are nearly finished, and a laptop in the corner where Peter is standing by with some papers scattered about.
Peter has some papers in hand and hands them to the girls. "These are missing person reports."
The girls take them and see that they are indeed missing person reports. They consist of a variety of people from all over the world. And a fair amount of them don't even come from wealthy or even well-off backgrounds. Some of them come from modest upbringings.
Felicia rifles through the appears and notes, "In most cases like this, it's either pirates or slavers." She quirks a brow at one picture, "Considering how some of these people look, I'm leaning towards pirates."
The spider-powered genius groans as he rubs his temples, "You know in a way, I'm glad it's these kinds of people that I get to pound on for ruining our vacation."
Felicia nods as she looks through the papers while MJ sighs and comments, "It was nice while it lasted."
The comment is of course sarcastic. MJ hated how it always seemed like it was too much to ask to spend a single day with Peter where nothing happened.
Well, she got it, but this time she was asking for a week. Was it too greedy to ask for a week?
While MJ is musing over this, Felicia rifles through the papers and is getting more upset over the number of women who seem to be missing. All of them went missing when they took trips on boats. But not all of them were rich kids. Some came from poor or even middle-class lifestyles.
So how did some of these girls come to find themselves on boats out in the ocean?
Peter looks at the open laptop and it has loaded up more reports. "Whoever is looking into this, saw that the common denominator of these disappearances were people who sailed out." He says as he scrolls through some more files. He then looks at how haphazardly the room is and concludes, "And they left here in a hurry which is why the laptops open and the papers are all over."
Felicia lifts the whetstone she found. "So where does this thing fit into that scenario?"
She can't imagine a scenario where a law enforcement official would be carrying around a whetstone. Or even a freelance investigator.
Peter opens his mouth to respond but another voice shouts from above deck, "Who's upon this vessel!? Come forth!"
The girls have bewildered expressions by the accent and choice of words the mysterious male is shouting. Peter, worried that the man might have a gun or weapon, places his finger on his lips to signal the girls to be quiet. They nod in understanding and he steps past them while the heavy footsteps sound above them. He is worried about them getting hurt, but he's more worried about attacking the man when he is just defending his property.
'Hopefully, this person is friendly and will just think we're concerned civilians.' Peter thinks. And it's not too far off after all. They are technically concerned civilians who saw an abandoned boat. His spider-sense telling him something was wrong could be passed off as one of those gut instinct moments. 'Like right now with the fact that my spider-sense isn't triggering means whoever this is, it's not someone to worry about.'
Peter walks up the steps slowly so as to not startle whoever is on the boat and he reaches the top. He looks around and finds himself at the wrong end of a sword. Peter's eyes widen, not because of the sword but because of who is at the other end of it.
"Hercules?" Peter says in surprise.
Yes, the mountain of muscles and the Olympian Greek God of Strength himself, Hercules.
The demigod, who is wet and has his sword poised to pierce through Peter's throat, looks at him curiously for a moment before he gets a look of recognition, "Peter Parker?"
Peter gets concerned at being recognized, "You-You know who I am?"
Hercules nods. "I remember you." The large man does not lower his sword and gets a hard look in his. Peter gulps as he dreads what the God of Strength will say. "You kissed my wife."
Peter grimaces. 'Crap. I was hoping he forgot about that.' He turns his attention back to Hercules and the muscular man is giving a glare. "You're not still mad about that, are you?"
Hercules frowns at him. "Fortunately for you, my attention is required elsewhere."
As he watches Hercules sheaths his sword before he turns around and places his hand on his ear. Peter's ears pick up some static before he hears a voice, "Peter Parker made out with Hercules's wife?"
He eyes an earpiece in the demigod's ear. One of the other enhancements that he got since he came back was to his senses. Sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch all went up. The first week was a pain and it reminded him of when he was young and getting used to his senses being so strong. It took him a few weeks to get it under control but he managed. And now he got a handle on it quicker thanks to his years of experience.
"Isn't he the guy that takes pictures of Spider-Man?" A female voice speaks up this time.
"And he dated a supermodel." A different male voice from the first one. "The dude is like us and was living the nerd dream."
Peter raises a brow at the voices he's hearing coming from Hercules' earpiece. He may not be all that familiar with the God of Strength, but he's worked with the demigod to know he's never used modern technology. The fact that he is now and has helpers on the other end makes Peter wonder what is going on.
"My Loyal Nerds Three," Hercules exclaims into the earpiece, interrupting the conversation, and the title makes Peter wonder who the heck is on the other end of the line. "What information do you have for me?"
"Come on man, don't call us that in front of him."
"On your current quest, not a lot." The first voice from before says. Peter is seriously wondering who these people are and why Hercules is working with them. "That siren's call on the radio wasn't leading anyone to anything. It seemed like it was just sound."
'Sirens call?' Peter mentally questions. The singing on the radio was ominous, sure, but he didn't think it was a siren's call. 'My spider sense didn't go off, so that means they're right and that it wasn't dangerous to listen to.'
"But there's got to be a reason it's being broadcasted, right?" The female voice speaks up. "The whole thing with the sirens is leading sailors to their doom with their melodies."
Hercules nods as the third voice speaks up, "Uh guys? There is a dude right in front of Hercules that is out there for some reason."
That makes the demigod turn his attention back to Peter and looks at him curiously. "Why are you out here?"
Peter hesitates to answer for a second. The truth isn't something he's uncomfortable with telling, but he doesn't see how it's relevant to their situation. The idea of going out to the middle of the sea was Felicia's idea, not his.
He shrugs and responds, "Vacation."
"By yourself?" Hercules inquires.
Peter opens his mouth to answer but a voice from behind him beats him to it, "He's with us."
The two men look behind Peter and see both Felicia and Mary Jane come up from below deck. They figured since there was no sound of fighting that it was safe to come up on deck.
Hercules' eyes light up at the sight of the two beautiful women. "Well well, what have we here?" He says jubilantly. He struts past Peter and puts on a charming smile that makes most women swoon. "Might I know the name of such rare beauties?"
But these two are not most women. They both politely smile back as they introduce themselves. "I'm Mary Jane Watson and this is Felicia Hardy."
Felicia points to Peter and says, "As I said, we're with him."
Hercules does a double take and looks back and forth between the women and Peter. Not able to believe that these two beautiful women are with the plain-looking man.
Unbeknownst to them, someone else is watching them from the yacht the throuple came on.
A woman with long ebony hair, striking blue eyes, and a lovely but deadly figure watches Hercules interact with the civilians from a good distance away on the yacht the three came on.
This is the most dangerous woman in the world, Elektra Natchios. Former Assassin of the Hand.
This woman silently watches the interaction with keen interest from a good vantage point behind the yacht's door frame. The reason why she is hidden was not out of fear, but suspicion. There was something strange about these people.
She and Hercules went on a diving trip to find signs of sunken ships. It was a safe assumption that they would find some since no wreckage was discovered floating aimlessly. When they returned they immediately saw the large yacht next to theirs. At first, she assumed it had something to do with their mission. But after boarding it, looking through it, and finding nothing, except a room with money stuck to every surface including the ceiling, she just surmised it belonged to a wealthy man using it to bed a few loose women. They were no threat to her. Likely they were going to be another set of victims that have would been kidnapped. Which could have been useful since she needed to find the kidnappers in the first place. What better way than bait?
But just as she was stepping out into the open, she caught sight of the likely owner of the yacht. The moment she saw him, she immediately felt a sense of recognition. She knew the man from somewhere but for the life of her, she could not say where. It made her stop and hide herself from his sight. Not out of fear but caution. If she knows him then it's likely he knows her. Likely not in a favorable way. Not many people that know her and like her.
She watches as Hercules says something to him, but his back is to her so she cannot read his lips. However, by his posture, she can see he doesn't seem to like the man.
Elektra becomes curious. The Olympian is usually an overly friendly individual. He has no qualms with most unless they are villains. And the assassin does not recognize the smaller man so she doesn't believe he is a villain. Granted she doesn't know them all, there are far too many to remember, but still.
Two women come out from below where her room is, Elektra makes Hercules sleep above deck, and once again Elektra finds herself feeling a sense of familiarity. She knows she has seen these women from somewhere but cannot say where. Fortunately, she is at an angle where she can read their lips when they introduce themselves when Hercules strutted up to them and very likely flirted with them.
"I'm Mary Jane Watson. And this is Felicia Hardy."
"Like I said, we're with him."
Elektra raises a brow from her hiding spot. Mary Jane Watson? The actress? The deadly assassin doesn't watch many movies or TV but she is familiar with the redhead. She wouldn't say she is a fan, but she does enjoy the occasional episode of the show she stars in.
Felicia Hardy, on the other hand, that name she knows well. It's a name that she has connected with Wilson Fisk. Elektra made it a point to familiarize herself with all of those currently and formerly associated with the Kingpin. Enemies and friends. And while Black Cat is not a friend, she was at one point in the master criminal's employ. Only temporarily as a way to pay him back for giving her powers.
'And it was to be with Spider-Man.' She does remember the rumor going around the Kingpin's organization. The only reason the feline-themed thief accepted the Kingpin's offer was so she could stand by her hero lover at the time. 'Granted she didn't know it was the Kingpin that made the offer.'
Elektra watches Hercules look back and forth between the two women and the man she has yet to identify. And now the deadly female is even more curious about who the man is. To catch the attention of not one but two attractive women, a famous actress and a well-known thief, and have the former demigods' displeased expression directed at you when he sees you, well the man now has the deadly female attention.
But before she can ponder more on who the man is, he tenses up. He looks out to the distance and the women he came with follow his gaze. Curious about what they are looking at she follows their line of sight and sees what they are scared of.
A large wooden ship appeared out of a fog that was not there moments ago, with black tattered flags. It makes her tense up and grab her twin sai.
She gets the feeling this will be trouble.
Peter knows this will be trouble. An old-looking pirate ship that appears out of a mysterious fog that was not there moments ago is kind of on the nose for trouble.
"Well, this can't be good," Mary Jane comments as she and Felicia's gaze are locked onto the ship.
Hercules pulls out his sword from its sheath and readies his shield. "Fear not, fair maidens! I shall defeat whatever foe comes our way!" He then leaps onto their yacht and shouts out, "Elektra! Come out now! We have real enemies to face!"
'Elektra?' Peter muses, before he sees the female fatale emerge from the stolen yacht. For a second he was worried about her potentially discovering his alter ego but he remembers he left his work clothes back home. 'Course that's a double-edged sword right now.'
He needs to put on his suit but can't since he didn't bring it with him and it could out him as Spider-Man to both Hercules and Elektra. And while he may be able to trust the legendary hero, the assassin is another story.
Both the women he came with come up to him and Felicia inquires, "What do we do?"
Peter turns his attention to her and appreciates how she knows that they can't just come out swinging if this turns into a situation.
"Nowhere to hide for a quick change for any of us without outing ourselves," Peter informs them.
"Maybe not for you guys." MJ points out before she makes the motion to grab a sword from her hip. "Me on the other hand."
She closes her eyes as do Peter and Felicia. They know to expect a flash of blinding light before Red Sonja takes the place of Mary Jane Watson. Peter assumes that Mary Jane thinks neither they nor the people that they will be fighting will link the two together. Nobody outside of a select few trustworthy individuals knows.
But as the two wait for their third romantic partner to be replaced with the fourth member, they realize that there is no light. They crack open an eye and see that Mary Jane is standing there confusing them.
"Uh, Red?" Felicia looks at her curiously, "You gonna change or are you waiting for permission?"
Mary Jane gets a concerned look. "I-I can't feel it." She says as she looks down at the hand she uses to grab the sword, "Sonja's blade. I can't feel it."
Both Peter and Felicia become worried as well by this but are unable to dwell on it because a loud bang is heard followed by Peter shouting, "Get down!"
He tackles the two of them to the ground and they duck as cannonballs soar over them. Peter lifts his head to see the ship has cannons coming out of its bow. He then turns his sights on both.
Elektra and Hercules see that they have taken up the top of the yacht waiting for the pirate ship to get closer.
He looks back at the girls with worry as they have their ducked low to the ground. Felicia lifts her head and looks at MJ, "How does that transformation of yours work?!"
MJ lifts her head and explains, "I imagine that I'm grabbing the sword attached to Sonja's hip." She makes the motion of grabbing the sword again and like before nothing happens, "But it's not working now."
Peter gets concerned, "Is Sonja okay?"
Mary Jane gets quiet for a moment and the only sounds are the sounds of cannon fire. After a few moments the supermodel eases his worry, "She's fine but she doesn't know what's going on either."
Peter groans in frustration, "Well this sucks! Didn't bring my work clothes, Sonja can't help, and I can't web something up without outing myself."
His luck could not get worse.
Something sounding like multiple whip cracks sounds about and they look up to see that some figures are now attacking both Hercules and his female compatriote. Peter can see that they are big burly shirtless men. All are carrying either sabers or war hammers. They seem to be fairing poorly, but it doesn't seem to matter as even when they are fatally wounded they get back up.
Evident when Hercules chops off the head of one and the pirate goes up in smoke only to reform with his head attached.
The sound of whip cracks goes off around Peter and the girls and multiple forms appear suddenly. These figures are in puffy shirts, black pants, and hats or bandannas. The type of clothes that make Peter think of Pirates of the Caribbean characters. They do not have masks and Peter sees that they are all women.
The throuple stares at the female pirates as each women pull out sabers and pistols and points them at the couple.
"Do not fight." One of the women speaks with an accent that Peter recognizes as Greek. "You will not be harmed if you cooperate."
Peter would like to fight these women, if only to make sure the girls can get away on the boat Hercules and Elektra came on since it's likely faster than the yacht, but his spider-sense isn't warning him of any danger now. Which was weird since it went off to tell him something was going on. 'C'mon, spider-sense, I just got you back. Don't make me hate you so soon after our reunion.'
"Fear not, fair maidens!" Hercules, who sees what's happening back on his boat, shouts at them as he kicks a pirate to make room, "I shall rescue you from these miserable-!"
He then gets overwhelmed when the male pirates start to dogpile him. Elektra is doing well until one of the women pirates raises her pistol and fires off a round at the assassin. But instead of a bullet, it's a bolt of blue energy. And though it doesn't hit Elektra, it does connect to the ground she was on and it freezes. Making the woman lose her balance and that's when the male pirates grab her arms and legs to restrain her. The two greek warriors fight hard but eventually they are subdued.
"Isn't he supposed to be the God of Strength?" Felicia questions her beau.
Peter winces. He knows the Greek god is mortal now due to his sacrifice back during the Chaos War. The man used up all of his power to save the world and he was reduced to being a normal man. But he can't tell her he knows that because of the current company that is surrounding them.
He turns his attention back to the Greek women around them as the same one who spoke up before says with a commanding tone, "Get up."
Not wanting to instigate a fight, Peter lifts his hands and gets to his feet. The girls do the same.
"Turn around and place your hands behind you."
Again they comply. One of the pirate women clicks their pistols and fires off three rounds in quick succession. For a split second Peter was worried that they just shot him and the girls, but his spider sense did not go off and he was not in pain. He looks back to see his and the girls' hands are bound by some weird blue energy.
As they grab and pull him and the girls, Peter has to ask, "Who are you people?"
Again, the same woman from before speaks up and answers him, "We are the Witches of Olympus. You are coming with us."
One of the other pirate witches lifts her reaches into her pocket and pulls out a compass. She opens it, and a circle made of light appears at their feet. She snaps it shut and by the sound of a cracking whip, their environment changes into what Peter is on the deck of their ship. He sees multiple people all about the ship. Some are sweeping the deck, taking off ropes, and others carrying around boxes and whatnot.
The woman who spoke up the most steps forward and starts barking out orders. "Hoist the colors! We are returning home!
As the woman takes a hat from one of the crew members, Peter watches this all before he lets out a tired sigh. "Greek pirate witches." He voices his thoughts. "It bothers me so much that this doesn't weird me out. I mean what does that say about my life?"
Mary Jane and Felicia shrug as the platinum blonde says, "It's not boring."
"I kinda want boring if this is normal for me."
