Pavitr's Death
Wendy is panicked as everything happens at once. The fight is ongoing and there are buildings crashing all around them. But they had to keep going. But first she had to take a headcount of all the spiders she was responsible for. That meant Gwen, Miles, Hobie, and Pavitr.
Wendy: Is everyone alright? Is everyone he-.
Pav: (said weakly) Wendy…
Wendy turns around slowly to where Pav’s voice is coming from. As soon as she sees him, she gasps and her eyes well with tears. He was standing there, looking at his hands as he was slowly glitching away. Parts of him were disappearing or have already disappeared. His face was stretched in pain and it looked like he was panicking at the same time.
They all knew Pav’s universe was disappearing as they spoke, but they thought they still had time to fix it. If Pav was fading away, it meant his entire universe was gone and it was his turn to go next.
Pav: I don’t feel so good.
Pav dropped to his knees and Wendy ran to catch him. She laid him down holding onto him as he faded away. He grabbed onto one of her arms, looking at her with fear in his eyes.
Wendy: (said through tears) You’re going to be okay. Look at me, look at me. Y-you’re going to be okay. Alright! You’re not dying today.
Pav: Wendy…
Wendy: We’re going to save you and find a solution to all of this.
Pav: (said a little louder) Wendy!
Wendy stops stammering and talking and truly looks at Pav. The fear he felt was finally hitting her and it dropped like a weight in her stomach.
Pav: I’m scared. I’m so scared. I don’t wanna go.
Wendy plasters on her best smile. Hobie, Gwen, and Miles finally find them in the chaos and are standing a bit behind them.
Wendy: I-I know you are. I’m going to be right here. I’m…I’m not going to leave you. Y-you’re not…dying alone.
Pav fades away more and more until there’s barely anything left of him.
Pav: I-I’m sorry I couldn’t see it through to the end.
With his final words, Pav fades away completely. Wendy’s arms fall through to the ground and land with a thud. It feels as if the world stops for a minute before she lets out the most ear shattering, blood curdling scream anyone has ever heard from her.
It reaches for miles, reaching the ears of Miguel further away. In an instant he knows what happened. Jess looks toward the scream and recognizes it as Wendy’s right away.
Jess: (solemnly) Please tell me that's not what I think it is.
Miguel breathes a sigh and actually looks remorseful.
Miguel: We…we just lost Pavitr.
