Found but not the same
They couldn’t believe it. Seeing that..monster just suddenly shift itself into their friend.. it had to be fake, maybe it wasn’t even the real miles- running a quick scan, it was him, Lylas' program doesn’t lie. It's Miles alright… But then were all of their senses going off?
“What..miles.. Where have you been?!” Gwen asked, no, demanded to know, she couldn’t get closer though, Hobie immediately held his arm out in front of Gwen and Pavitr almost instinctively as he sorta glowered at Miles. He had a bad feeling about all this, the fact that he already felt like there was a threat didn’t sway him in the slightest, something about Miles was off and Hobie wasn’t about to chance it.
“Oh.. yknow. Wanted some time to think for a bit. But- I didn’t mean to disappear that long- really!” Miles defended himself as he stalked closer, those sunken yellow eyes staring at Hobie as he noticed the punkspider protecting them “uh..hobie what are you guarding them for? Cmon, not like I'm gonna bite ya.” He reassured with a joke at the end, putting his hands up defensively, if that was supposed to convince him it was a piss poor attempt.
Hobie glared harder signaling to Miles to back off. He knew his friends well, miles would’ve let one of them know at the very least, and he did, miles had told them he was gonna stay in earth-42 for a bit. That excuse was bullshit, plus you don’t just go AWOL when you ‘need to think’. his eyes shifted from the other two back to Miles.
“why in the bloody hell did you attack people?!” he said.
Gwen and Pav were silent, the tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife, on one hand, Miles was right in front of them, they should be overjoyed right? But when the chillest one in the group is getting serious, maybe they should hold off, especially when their spider senses are further calling to them to get out of there.
“..I. Don’t know.” Miles said the smile dropped to a slightly more confused expression as if he wasn’t aware of his actions “..I- I did?! Shit.. ohh nono. Sorry i..” he put a hand to his head pire disorientation on his face, his head ached, the last hours..no, the whole day was a blur to him and thinking about it made him woozy. Don’t think about it. Its not important. He shook his head after that thought.
“Uhm. lets. Just get going yea? we can talk more at HQ.” Miles said dismissively with a light chuckle, staying casual. Hobies eyes flitted to Miles’s watch, it..looked different, it looked tampered with?
As of now, all the group could do was comply and hope adult intervention would somehow fix things or at the very least help. The three shared a concerned cautious glance before agreeing, Gwen opened a portal up back to HQ , Pavitr had to stay behind to ensure everyone was safe and unharmed after that little..incident.
Hobie, Miles, and Gwen walked into the portal.
