Hela
There she was. The piercing green eyes. Her glare connected with mine. I want this to be over. I want this world to get better. I want the next generation of every family to come into this world and not have to be raised like warriors. I want this moment to fade into legends and only be spoken of in hushed whispers. In order to do that, I cannot let Hela have the 9 realms. I started running towards Hela as she went to kick Thor in the head.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!!!" I screamed as I launched an iceball at Hela's head. Naturally, she dodged it but at least Thor's head was less damaged.
"Aurora... I was wondering when you would turn up though I was hoping that you had been killed," Hela admitted.
"Well, I am so sorry to disappoint you but it looks like I am still here... living and shit," I clenched my fists, eyes burning red.
"So? Did you do it?" Hela rubbed her hands together.
"Yes," I growled, ready to lunge for her throat next, "I did it."
"Rory..." Thor stood off to the side, out of breath "What did you do?"
"Yes, Aurora," Hela smirked, "Tell him what you did."
"I killed my father," I wasn't ashamed. I wasn't going to hide it. Yes, I took another life tonight. Hopefully, Thor would be able to understand that.
"Your father?" Thor asked, treading lightly "He died years ago,"
"Yeah, that version died" I nodded before glaring at Hela "Then that bitch brought him back to life. He was nearly an empty shell. It was only at the end that he had gained some of his old self back. I killed him out of mercy,"
"Is this true?" Thor glanced over his shoulder at his brother. Loki nodded.
"I saw in his mind. It wasn't pretty," Loki admitted. And I think Hela's plan of guilt-tripping for killing another human backfired horribly.
"Well, that backfired didn't it?" I smirked. Hela walked closer to me.
"Oh, Aurora," Hela came down from her high horse, merely caressing my cheek. Just like the old days. But she didn't get a chance as Loki grabbed her wrist and pushed her away.
"Get your hands off her," Loki jumped on the defensive. My man. Fandral limped over and stood on the other side of me.
"Oh go away, Loki," Hela shooed him away, "This doesn't involve you."
"Oh, but it does. In fact, This involves all of us," Fandral argued, "Touch her and we will kill you,"
"But Fandral," Hela thought it over, tapping her chin with her long finger "You have already tried to kill me,"
"Hela... I love to keep interrupting you but you should know that if you touch them, I will kill you," I kept my voice down, knowing exactly how low of a blow that was. I kept my guard up. It's strange, really... Because I think Hela was letting hers down.
"My dear, sweet Aurora..." she moved in a little closer. I looked at all the spots where I could kill her. The main artery in her neck was a good spot. I could use the dagger in my belt "The last time you were in Asgard... when we were last together, I took you in. You were my everything. I really did love you like you were my own daughter,"
"Sure you did," Loki rolled his eyes. Thor and Fandral agreed. Wow, that's a first for those three. I think even Sif was a little shocked.
"How could I not? You held such potential. Your eyes had such despair and broken hope. And despite your... gene flaws... Your heart held such fire. A bright, beautiful fire. One that I just wanted to keep burning."
"Meaning that you wanted to control me," I snarled.
"No..." Hela clarified, shaking her head "I wanted to show you how to control it. you had such potential in you when we first met. And you still do. So, I'm going to give you one last chance to denounce your family name." Hela held out her hand. I glanced down at the hand "Join me, darling. I miss having you around the palace. I miss seeing your face in my war room. And in my kitchen late in the mornings,"
"Blue... no" Fandral started to panic. I told him to shush.
"I will show you things your powers can do that they only want to snuff out. You're above them, Aurora. They want people like us dead for that reason. They fear us. They're afraid of what they will never hope to understand. Especially my fucking brothers!"
"Excuse me?" Thor was ready to tear her throat out. Loki too. But I held up a hand to them.
"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice softening. Not glancing at Loki or Thor. I had my own plan and it was time to act. But I knew that if I looked at any of them then I would crack like an egg.
"My sweet child, Do you really think they took you in out of the kindness of their hearts?" Hela wrapped her arms around me "They needed someone else with your kind of raw power to come after us. Because they lack anything special, so why not use you? They will use you until you are of no use to them. Then, they will kill you That's just the way my family is."
"No..." I let out a little gasp. Time to bust out my actress skills "No.. no.. they wouldn't... They would do that would they?" I started to panic and grip my hair, moving slowly towards Hela.
"Rory? Come on, you know us better than that!" Thor called out to me.
"I wouldn't..." Fandral spoke. Sif remained quiet, trying to hold her husband back.
"Aurora... please... no..." Loki spoke in a whisper. I flung myself into her arms. Ha! bitch fell for it.
"Of course, they would tell you all that nonsense. Thor, the loveable idiot, and Fandral the Dashing. Sif. And Loki, the man with the silver tongue. They will destroy you. And let's face it, it is only a matter of time before Thor takes out Fandral. I'm sure that would be the next one on the list once he has killed you"
"Hela..." I sobbed into her shoulder "You are right." Hela holds me close. How dense is this bitch?
"Blue..." Fandral called out, "We talked about this. You know what Hela is like."
"But Hela is right..." I agreed, releasing a heavy, exasperated sigh, "It's only a matter of time before you kill the other."
"I knew you had a good head on your shoulders, darling," Hela cradled me, "I'm so glad you believe me. It's good to see where your loyalties lie." I pulled away from Hela, my head hung low.
"Fandral, I have seen you and Thor sit across from each other at the breakfast table. You two can not get through a meal without insulting each other at least once, it's a fucking miracle. That... You were right about that, Hela. But you were also wrong..." I lifted my head, staring at Hela. There was a cold chill in the air. I looked down quickly and saw my skin turning blue "All of them standing behind me. Probably looking very confused right now... That's my family,"
"I beg your pardon?" Hela's eye twitched and her lips quivered. I looked back at the others and smiled. I could see the relief flood their faces.
"I might not be blood-related to any of them. But they are still my family. Thor, Fandral, Sif and Loki. They are my family. And wherever they are... is where I plan on calling home,"
"Not with me? Not in my palace in Asgard? Not with Morbius and Skurge?" I could see it in her fallen face. I had planned on ripping Hela's heart out but for now, shattering it to pieces will do just fine.
"Morbius wanted me dead from the moment I walked into that palace." Speaking of the bastard... where is he?
"But I didn't. Nor did Skurge," Hela grovelled, "We were a family, Aurora."
"I couldn't be yours even if I wanted to." I looked behind me and smiled at everyone, "This one meant more to me than you could ever," I shook my head. The quiet in the square was haunting. But then, Hela barely spoke above a whisper.
"Fine. If it is a fight that you are looking for, Aurora... So be it."
Alright then, Hela's up for a fight. Unfortunately for her, so was I. Of course, her first move would be a cheap shot. A quick swipe of her hand and I was fifty feet in front of her. I knew Thor, Sif, and Fandral wanted to go after Hela, too, but Sif and Loki had to heal Thor and Fandral. I was the only one who was still semi-busted. Thankfully, None of my bones were broken.
"That was a cheap shot!" I ducked as Hela threw a necrosword at me. I hit her with an ice shot. Then she tried to hit me with the sword of hers. And when she could, she hit me with another blast of energy, knocking me back even more. So... She's making sure I don't get close "Too scared to let me get close again?"
"You will die tonight. You will die by my hand!" Hela yelled as she threw sword after sword at me. only one knocked me on my ass. I quickly got back on my feet again and let out a sharp, shrill, angry scream. One that was plenty to send her ass flying, too.
"Try it, Bitch!" I could see it all over her face. Hela was a healthy mixture of pissed and intrigued. Of course, she knew that I knew how to fight but she never saw my powers come out. I did a quick teleport and appeared behind her. Unfortunately, she was quick. Her bony elbow found its way into my jaw. And I ended up on the ground again. Then, her look of curiosity was replaced with one of opportunity. Hela had me pinned to the ground.
"Shit!" I yelped. I heard the others yelling my name. Hela is about to stamp on my head when a blue figure rans her, knocking her ten feet away. I wipe the blood from my eyes and see Loki standing in front of me, a full Frost Fiant.
"Stay away from her," He growled.
"Loki... What are you doing?" Thor asked.
"Protecting what is mine," Loki looked at me from over my shoulder. I climb to my feet and stand by Loki's side "Remember... I will be standing either behind you, in front of you or by your side," I slide my hand into his.
"Do I even want to know what is going on between you two?" Fandral asked. I looked over my shoulder, softly smiling.
"We'll explain at a later date," That's when Hela springs, Foot coming out like a shot, Loki jerking back as he pushes me out of the way. Her foot was inches away from his jaw. Loki grabs her foot and slams her into the ground, letting out a yell as the sound of her ribs breaking carries clearly "Ouch," I wince as I climb to my knees.
"Fucking bastard. I should have ended your life when I had the chance!" Hela screams. Loki puts his middle finger up at her. Hela scrambles to her feet and runs at Loki, fist raised in the air. But Loki catches it in his hand and squeezes. He smirks as he breaks the bones in her hand "When did you get so brave?"
"When I found someone to fight for!" Loki smiled at me, his blue skin fading as he returned to normal colour. I caught a glimpse of Morbius in the corner of my eye but I am guessing that so did the others as they ran towards him.
"Hela... this ends here... Either forfeit the crown and we will spare your boring ass life or I will rip out your melancholy heart," I warn. Hela laughs.
"So you've truly come to Asgard to kill me," Hela cracked her neck.
"I think the world would be a better place without you, yes."
"So, yes, I'm very much afraid that I have to kill you."
"Look at you all. You're not big enough to kill me. You're nothing. You don't deserve my blood! And when you die and go to hell, I'll be there waiting for you and the determination to find out if you can die twice."
"Will you shut up? I'm starting to get sleepy," I faked yawn. Hela leaps, avoiding a shot to the knee, spins, and slams the knuckles of her hand into Loki's nose, busting it open. Even with blood pissing out of his nose, he spartan kicks her away.
"Loki, back off now. Go and heal that nose. I got this," I smiled at my man. Loki reluctantly moves away. I know what breaking your nose feels like. And it does affect your vision as your eyes won't stop watering.
"You will all die," Hela snarls, running at me with her arm outstretched. And this is where she has just fucked up. I spin and force her arm over my shoulder and yank down. I smirk as her arm breaks, snapping it clean in two. She screams with pain and with anger.
"You know, You have been bragging about killing us for a while now that I am really beginning to doubt your commitment," I flung Hela over my shoulder, slamming her into a wall.
"Fuck you" Hela launches herself at me. I strike, smashing my fist into her shoulder, breaking her collarbone. Hela shrieks, but then again, I expected that. She simply refuses to quit. With her one good arm, she grabs me by my shirt and I slam my head into her nose. I smiled as I heard the bone break. Her hands fly to her nose as tears and blood stream down her face.
"Yeah! That's how it feels!" Loki shouted from the sidelines. Hela falls away, staggering, wrenching to a shaky halt. We face one another, standoff ... Exhausted, limping, hardly able to speak... Only one thing was going to stop her. Only one thing was going to snap her out of this anger.
"Hela... There is something I want you to know," I sighed.
"And what is that?" Hela panted, trying to keep herself from falling over.
"I did love you like my mother," A little sparkle shined in her icy blue eyes.
"What?"
"I did," my voice broke, "You took me in at the lowest point that I had ever been in my life and you... you gave me purpose."
"You loved me like I was your mother?" Hela cried.
"yes..." I glanced over Hela's shoulder. Uncle Thor was in the middle of backing up Fandral locked in combat with Morbius. "I will always be grateful for what you've done for me. You know that, don't you?"
"If you're so grateful, then why have you turned against me? Why won't you just come home?" a few tears escaped my eyes.
"I loved being with you. For the first time in a long time, I had someone who cared. Someone who wanted to nurture my gifts instead of suppressing them. But there is one simple reason I cannot let you live" My hand comes out lightning quick. There is a sickening sound of flesh being ripped open and bone being broken as I shove my fist into her chest bone, grabbing her beating heart and ripping it from her chest "I can't let you take over the 9 realms, Hela. You needed to be stopped." Hela was dead before she even hit the ground. I hovered over the corpse and closed her eyes "I'll see you in hell," I looked over to Morbius and saw that he froze as I held up Hela's still-beating heart, squishing it between my fingers. He then crumbled to dust as Thor stabbed him in the heart.
"That was nasty," Loki limped over to me, wrapping his arm around me.
"It's not like I could freeze her heart. It was already stone cold," I threw the remains of her heart in her face "This was the only way,"
When I turned back around, I did a quick count. One, two, three, four...five. Good. Everyone's still here. Without another thought, Loki runs forward, tears in his eyes by this time, and falls to his knees, cradling me in his arms, while the others look on in thoroughly stunned silence,
"Are you alright?"
"I will be," I sighed. I hope I did my mama proud today.
"It's over," Sif confirmed. I shut my eyes and listened to the heartbeat coming from her. It made me smile.
"We won" Fandral looked around. Every single one of Hela's loyal guards started running away "Bunch of cowards,"
"We will catch them at a later day" Sif spoke. She then looked at the royal guards and nodded towards them. They all started chasing the evil guards.
"Come on," Thor decided, "Let's get out of here. Go back home,"
"You do know that we have to pick a new ruler for this place?" Loki spoke. Thor groaned.
"Crap..." he ran a hand over his face "Okay... time to go to the palace,"
"Aurora?" Loki help me up. I stumbled a little as I felt a little lightheaded. Loki caught me before I fell to the ground "Are you sure that you are alright?"
"I got good news and bad news," I blink rapidly. The world started spinning.
"What's the good news?" Fandral asks, kneeling next to me.
"Good news is, we are not dead," I put a thumbs up. I blink several times as I am now seeing spots.
"What's the bad news?" Thor ask. I grimace in pain.
"Bad news is that I am about to pass out," I groan and shortly after, I blacked out in Loki's arms.
