Christmas Dinner!!

Ava was nervous as the day began in just a few hours everyone would be here in her home exchanging gifts for the Secret Santa they had planned and enjoying a good meal and of course drinks sha made her way to the kitchen to start prepping. But her mind kept going to all the things that could go wrong. Her mother surrounded by what she was considering a giant rainbow flag of people sitting around her. Since her mother found out she was a lesbian their relationship had been awful, though they rarely spoke about her relationships. Her mother managed to dance around those topics when they did speak it usually was her blaming her for something that had nothing to do with either of them. But today her fear was her mother being near Sara, and the damage any statement made could cause irreversible damage to her newfound relationship that she found herself realizing was so much more serious then she initially thought it would be.

She had noticed since meeting Sara she smiled more, she found herself in a much better mood on a regular basis. She looked forward to calls and texts from the blonde, less nightmares she had also noticed instead she was dreaming of Sara. Ava found herself getting lost in her thoughts she didn’t even notice Hannah come into the kitchen and sat at the kitchen island. Hannah cleared her throat bringing Ava back to reality, Hannah just smiled at her.

“I know who your thinking about.” Ava blushed at the statement “You always have this grin on your face when you think about her.”

“I do not.” Ava sternly says but then notices she is smiling and shakes her head getting back to working on food trays.

“Wow, you’re in denial.” Hannah says chuckling “I can’t remember a time ever when you smiled this much.” Ava just continued smiling at Hannah not denying anything and they both heard the knock on the door and Ava’s smile turned into a neutral look. She knew who it was and now was the start of what she could only assume would be the longest day of her life. Hannah got up slowly walking her way to the door. Sara had informed Hannah the day before she could lose the crutches she walked over to the door and opened it letting Carol in.

Carol came in the house with her hands full of gifts and walked to the living room putting them down on the couch turning back to Hannah and giving her a quick hug and peck on the cheek who then dropped to the couch eyeing the massive pile of gifts. Carol walked towards the kitchen knowing Ava was in there, she wanted to say something to Ava before anyone else was there. When she walked into the kitchen she watched as Ava was prepping food and her heart tightened. She and her daughter had been on bad terms for so long that she rarely got to see her relaxed and in this moment she is watching Ava focused on the task at hand putting finishing touches on a casserole with a smile on her face. Ava hadn’t noticed carol walk in and that was fine by Carol she missed her daughter and it was time she tried to start to make amends. So, she cleared her throat causing Ava to look up her loosing all emotion on her face. Just a blank stare as Carol moved forward.

“I know that your concerned about me being here with all of your friends. And I wanted to let you know that I plan to be on my best behavior tonight. I know that you think it’s my plan to ruin tonight but right now I want you to know its not.” Carol finished and Ava was confused at this point.

“Is you warning me that its not your goal to ruin tonight just an early apology for when you do?”

“Absolutely not, I mean what I’m saying I just want to enjoy myself with my daughters and their friends. And have a good time.” Carol had moved closer but stopped at the kitchen island still standing. Ava cocks her head. What the hell is she playing at? Ava’s mind was racing through possibilities.

“You do realize that most of the people who will be here are gay right?” Ava said it to gage Carol’s response and Carol’s face didn’t show any reaction at all it was shocking to Ava and here she was still confused about what the hell was wrong with Carol. “Are you drunk?” Ava added shaking her head.

“No, I am not!” Carol rushed out, “I just, you know every time we around each other we…we fight. And I just don’t want that today. I want you and your friends to have fun. I know we have the Secret Santa thing and well Hannah told me a little about everyone coming and well I got everyone a gift because I thought…” she mumbled the rest of the statement.

“You thought what?” Ava stopped what she was doing and was now crossing her arms in front of her and leaning against the counter behind her. “You thought it would impress me?” Ava waited for an answer.

“No. Hannah speaks so highly of everyone and seems like they are like extended family and I know how close you are to Alex and her daughter and I thought it would be nice to just be...” Carol didn’t finish the sentence.

“A mother?” Ava finished it for her. Carol sighed and looked down she took a deep breath and looked back up to Ava meeting her eyes. Ava could see the pain in Carol’s eyes in this moment and she noticed her mother’s eyes started to glisten a little. As a tear escaped Ava took a deep breath

“I miss my daughter Ava.” The words were like stabs to Ava’s heart each one causing more damage than the previous. Ava had been so hurt for so long she had long given up on having any emotion when it came to her mother. She didn’t even realize that tears had started rolling down her cheeks and when Carol took a step towards her Ava quickly snapped out of her mind and took a step away.

“Yeah well, who’s fault is that huh?” She wiped the tears from her cheeks and looked at her mother standing across from her. There was no way she could possibly think that after all these years she would just embrace her like nothing had ever happened. It wasn’t that simple and honestly today of all days was the last thing they needed to get into. She steadies herself before she speaks again. “Let’s just get through today. And we can dive further into this.” She motions between them “Another time. Just not today.” Ava walks out of the kitchen towards her room passing Hannah on the couch who see’s her red eyes and then looks up to see Carol watching Ava walk away from the threshold of the kitchen.

“What did you do?” Hannah jumped up. “Please tell me you didn’t start already. You just go there.” Hannah rushed angrily towards Ava’s room where she just disappeared into the hallway, she taps and slowly opens the door and see’s Ava just laying on her bed staring at the ceiling eyes glossy with tears.

Hannah slowly makes her way into room closing the door behind her and makes her way to the bed. Ava can see her out of the corner of her eyes, closing her eyes to push the tears away she shifts over making room for Hannah to lay next to her. Hannah eases herself down and stares up at the ceiling. They both lay there quietly for a few minutes before Ava finally decides to explain.

“She told me she missed me.” Tears back in her eyes when Hannah looks over, she sees one fall and Ava doesn’t react to it just lets them fall.

“Bitch!” Hannah blurts out causing Ava to laugh out loud and release the breath she had been holding. She turns towards Hannah and Hannah mirrors this and they are laying there looking at each other. Hannah reaches up and wipes the tears from Ava’s eyes. Hannah pulls her sister into an embrace that Ava didn’t know she needed but, in that moment, she melted into the embrace and wraps her arms around her little sister. “Well as usual her timing is impeccable.” Hannah adds and Ava laughs into her shoulder.

“This is nice, a reversal of roles but nice.” Ava says not wanting the embrace to stop.

“Well, don’t get used to it. This isn’t my job its yours!” she squeezes tighter and Ava starts to laugh again. “What?”

“I can’t breathe.” Ava gasps causing Hannah to release her and they part and both turn back on their backs staring up at the ceiling again, but Hannah reaches down and grabs Ava’s hand and squeezes it. “Thanks, Gidget.” Ava says as she squeezes her hand back. Ava looks over at Hannah who is looking up, “Did you tell her about Sara?” causing Hannah to look over her and smile.

“I told her she was my physical therapist and her sister is a lawyer and that they would be here. But if you’re asking if I told her Sara is your girlfriend. Then no, you said to keep it quiet, so I did what you asked. But I would like to add quickly and just this one time. I think its stupid you not saying anything. even if Sara said its okay.” Hannah turns her head back to staring at the ceiling. Ava turns her head back also. She knows Hannah is right, but she just doesn’t want to chance it. And after talking to Sara again just to make sure she understood why she was comforted to know Sara understood and was approaching Carol with caution as it was.

Once they came out of the bedroom Carol had organized the gifts under the tree and had sat down on the couch. Ava made her way back to the kitchen and started working on getting the food in the oven and Hannah went to the couch to keep Carol busy so Ava could have space because if there was one thing Hannah knew it was Ava needed space right now and the kitchen was a safe place for her.

As time went on slowly but surely people started arriving Gary was first as he brought a ton of presents and greeted Carol as she helped him unload everything from his hands and they worked on arranging his presents under the tree. It looked like he had also gotten gifts for everyone possibly more than one based on how many boxes he brought in.

By the time Alex arrived with Zion in tow the little girl was amazed at the pool of gifts under the tree and she sat down looking at each one trying to find the ones with her name on it. She was counting how many she had as the adults watched her excitement in noticing she had multiple gifts of all sizes. Alex made her way into the kitchen.

“So why does my kid have like twenty gifts under the tree?” Alex said as she made her way to sit at the kitchen island.

“Well I know Hannah and I had a few under the tree for her but I think Carol and Gary may have went a little overboard.” She motioned towards the living room.

“Carol?” Alex was looking at Ava with a confused look.

“Yeah, I’m not sure what’s going on there?” Ava didn’t know if she should tell Alex about the earlier conversation, she was still trying to wrap her head around it herself.

“Well that’s new.” Alex grabbed a small finger food from a plate and Ava moved quickly to hit her with a spatula she had in her hand. “Oww!” Alex shakes her hand after the spatula makes contact.

“That’s for later.” Ava looks at her with stern eyes and Alex just smiles and pops the finger food in her mouth with a satisfied grin on her face after she finishes it. There is a knock on the door that grabs Alex’s attention and while Ava’s eyes were looking up towards the door Alex grabs another finger food and moves out of Ava’s reach as she swings the spatula again. “Dammit Alex!” Alex smiles over her shoulder as she makes her way to the door.

Alex opens the door and in walks Leo and Gwyn with gifts in tow and Zion rushes up to them and hugs their legs.

“Are any of those for me?” Z asks excitedly, Leo looks down at the little girl and smiles.

“Maybe there is one in here somewhere Z” Leo looks over to Gwyn his husband of ten years who turns his eyes down and squats down to Zion who jumping excitedly up and down.

“I think this big pink gift right here is for a little girl we know.” His British accent is thick as he speaks. “Is there another little girl here who might be able to give this gift too?”

“Nope I’m the only kid here!” She smiles very proud of her Uncles.

“Well then maybe you should take it and put it under the tree.” Leo adds.

Z grabs the big pink gift in Gwyn’s hand, and it falls to the floor its so heavy. “What is it? It, ways more than my body.” She laughs as she tries to pick it up. Alex leans over and grabs the gift and Zion follows her to the tree where Z shows her a good spot for the gift and she places it down. “I’m opening that one first!” Z smiled as Alex just laughs at her and everyone laughs at her.
In the next few minutes Kara has arrived and comes bearing gifts and is shortly followed by Laurel, Sara, and Mick. The gifts are overflowing from under the tree by the time everyone has arrived for the dinner. Everyone is introduced to everyone if they haven’t met yet. Gwyn and Carol being the main people that need introductions. Carol takes a shine to Laurel which Sara liked because it gives her the opportunity to sneak off to the kitchen while everyone chats in the living room.

Sara stands at the threshold watching her girlfriend for a moment watching her going back and forth between the counters and the oven and grabbing things here and there so focused she doesn’t even notice when Sara is almost next to her. Sara looks to make sure they are alone and wraps her hands around Ava’s waist and Ava stiffens and turns to see the little blonde looking at her with a huge smile and she relaxes instantly and smiles back.

“Hey you.” Ava whispers. She looks towards the living room and sees they are alone and quickly grabs Sara’s cheeks in her hands and kisses her lips softly and quickly.

“Hi.” Sara is just looking at her and Ava feels the butterflies in her stomach take off. She grabs Sara’s wrist and pulls her into a door off the kitchen that leads to the laundry room. Once she closes the door, she quickly pushes Sara against the door and kisses her passionately and Sara melts into the embrace and kisses her back. They are like this for a few moments and Ava breaks the kiss. “We shouldn’t be in here long.” Ava nods she now hates the fact she asked her to hide this all she wants is Sara near her to keep her safe and calm. “But it’s nice to know this is here.” Sara motions to the room. “Might come in handy later.” She smiles and turns to open the door as Ava pushes it closed to stop her.

“I’m sorry I’m asking you to do this.” Sara turns quickly and puts her hands-on Ava’s cheeks and pulls her closer.

“If this helps you get through today then its worth it.” She kisses her lips softly. “Besides there is something kind of exciting about sneaking around.” She pulls Ava closer into a lustful kiss that takes Ava’s breath away and a small moan escapes her lips as they part and Sara quickly slides out from her arms and out the door before Ava can even come down from whatever cloud she just landed on.

Thirty minutes later everyone is sitting at the table the plates full of food and conversation flowing. Ava and Alex are sitting with Zion in between them. Directly across from Ava is Laurel with Carol to her right and Sara to Carol’s right. Gary is sitting to Sara’s right and across from Gary, Gwyn, and Leo with Hannah to their left and Kara directly across from her with Mick taking up the end of the table. At the other end of the table next to Ava is a huge turkey carved down in slices placed on plates that can be passed around the table.

The conversation flows well, Ava keeping an ear to Laurel and Carol’s conversation while Zion is steadily telling Alex what she thinks are her presents under the tree. Gary seems to be talking Sara’s ear off telling her about school and his students. Hannah and Kara are listening to bar stories that Leo and Gwyn are telling, and Mick is steadily just eating and working on his beer and sometimes grunts acknowledging Leo as he is saying something fairly amusing. Ava is shocked that so far dinner is going so well. She is actually feeling herself relax and she is able to steal glances at Sara across the table without notice.

Ava starts to focus more and more on everything and everyone listening around the table not so focused on Carol’s conversation with Laurel so much as the little girl next to her snickering about something Leo said that apparently is funny to four year old. She then hears Kara telling Hannah about her flight home that was horrible and took twice as long with multiple delays. Leo is busy telling Mick about the time Gwyn beat up a Marine who had a little too much to drink, Ava was so focused on everyone else she didn’t hear her mother ask Ava a very loud question that caused Laurel to laugh and Sara to choke on her wine as she took a drink and Alex to damn near choke on the spoonful of food she had just put in her mouth. When Ava turns to look at Carol with a confused look her mind goes racing as to what could have been said.

“I’m sorry I was listening to Leo what did you say?” Ava was scared of the response she was about to hear from Carol.

“Well I just wondered why you hadn’t asked this one here (she points to Laurel) on a date?” Carol says very matter of fact.

“What?” Ava didn’t understand but did understand the quite amusing smile Laurel had and now registered Sara’s and Alex’s rather interesting responses. “Why would I ask Laurel on a date?”

“Well she is the whole package, right? That’s what they call it?” Ava is absolutely mortified by what is happening right now.

“No I... mean she is great yeah, but she is Laurel.” Ava tries to fumble the words out but is completely confused as to her mother’s actions at this moment. Since when did she give two shits about Ava’s love life? That had always been a source of bad tension between them and here she was now trying to convince her to date Laurel. Not just Laurel but her girlfriend’s sister Laurel.

“See she agrees you guys should have dinner sometime.” Carol smiles at Laurel who is doing her best to hold back a laugh and Ava can see Sara out of the corner of her eyes and she is trying so hard not to laugh also. Even going as far as to biting down on her bottom lip which causes Ava to startle and stand up.

“Excuse me can we talk in the kitchen please.” She motions to Carol to follow her. Carol gives Laurel a look as if she may have overstepped and follows Ava out of the dining room and into the kitchen. And doesn’t hear the fit of giggles that happen once they leave the room.

Ava stands in the kitchen for a moment just looking at Carol as she walks in, she crosses her arms across her chest and tries to not sound angry but mostly she is so confused. “What the hell was that?”

“I just (carol seems a little on edge) Hannah said you hadn’t been dating in a long time and I thought well Laurel is just lovely and she seems like a good match for you.” Carol seemed sure of herself in her statement. If she was being honest, she had never really met anyone who was good enough for Ava.

“Laurel doesn’t date girls.” Ava runs her hands through her hair. “You cant just go around trying to set me up on dates.”

“Well I just thought.” Carol is cut off by Ava.

“You just thought what? All the sudden you show up here and try to make amends after years of basically ignoring me or fighting with me or blaming me for everything that is wrong in the world. And your first thought is hey let me help her get a date?” Ava’s anger is building but she does what she can to keep herself calm.

“I’m sorry I overstepped it honestly was just a question and I think its being taken the wrong way.” Carol was upset with herself now of course this would upset Ava. She didn’t want to seem overzealous in trying to get back in her good graces and she needed to ease her way back into Ava’s life. She knew she had to earn her trust back and maybe even her love and she wasn’t exactly starting on the right foot.

They stand in silence for a moment and all of the sudden Ava realizes something Carol, her mother actually tried to get her a date and she start to chuckle a little bit. And when she see’s Carol confused look at her random laughter she starts laughing harder to the point to where she can feel a smile on her face. When Carol notices the smile on Ava’s face one appears on hers, Ava isn’t mad she doesn’t think. Or has she snapped, and she is about to kill her she isn’t really sure, but Ava looks happy, so she is hoping it’s the former of the two thoughts.

“You tried to get me a date.” Ava says in between chuckles. “With Laurel who doesn’t even like girls.” Ava slows down her laughs and looks at Carol and it’s the first time since she was a teenager, she can remember actually laughing in front of her.

“You know she is a really nice girl though.” Carol says putting her hands on her hips.

“I can’t date Laurel mother.” Ava breathes out the word for the first time in years and Carol stands in Awe. It was a step a huge step Ava had said mother, not Carol not a grunt she had said mother. “I have a girlfriend. I didn’t tell you because honestly, I was worried how you would treat her or what you would say to her or lord knows what else was going through my mind. Stay here for a second.” Ava walks away

A shocked Carol is still standing in the kitchen because her daughter called her Mother and she has a girlfriend. And now a look of sadness appears on her face. A girlfriend that Ava was scared to tell her about was scared to let her meet. She didn’t even invite the women here because she didn’t want Carol to meet her. She didn’t realize how much damage she had caused until that moment. She knew it was bad but the fact that her own child was afraid to introduce her to someone mad her heartbreak.

Ava walks back into the kitchen and sees Carol’s face when their eyes meet. “I’ve messed up so horribly that you didn’t even invite your girlfriend here for Christmas.” Carol has tears falling down her face. “I’m an awful mother I just really didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until I had this mother I met a few months ago she always talked about her son and how amazing he was and she was so proud of him you know and she was just the sweetest woman. And we stand up and talk about our kids that’s what we do and she stood up a few months ago and said all the nice things and then tears came to her eyes and she said Its been five years since he took his own life and I regret not telling him these things every day and I blame myself for his death every second of everyday for that.” She wiped some of her tears away but to no avail as they were falling at a rapid pace now. “She had always talked about him in the present tense none of knew he was gone. When she said that everyone gasped, they couldn’t believe it. And the first thing I thought was of you.” She looked up to see Ava had tears in her eyes now. “What if didn’t tell you how much I love you, how proud I am of you. And one day you were just gone. And it almost happened I almost did lose you without telling you that. And I realized right then and there that I had to fix this I had to fix us. Because I don’t want you to leave this earth thinking I didn’t love you.” Carol took a step forward and Ava met her halfway and wrapped her arms around her mother. They stood like that for a while Ava isn’t sure how long really, but she needed it. Her mother needed it, and they were by no means back to being perfect, but steps had been taken just in a small amount of time to start building back love and trust.

When Ava pulled back from the hug, she reached her fingers out and wiped the tears from her mother’s eyes and smiled at her. “So, this is going to be a little awkward because you just tried to set me up on a date with Laurel.” Ava said as she half smiled.

“What will be awkward?” Carol said slightly confused as she could see Ava smile over her shoulder and Carol turned to see none other than Sara in front of her.

“Mother this is my girlfriend Sara.” Carol threw her head into her hands completely embarrassed and at a loss for words. When Sara took a step forward and pulled her hands back and looked at Carol with her bright sunshine smile.

“That’s was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I will never let Laurel and Ava live that down.” She said laughing which in turn got a chuckle out of Carol.

“Sara it’s very lovely to be introduced to you the proper way. “She thought for a second and added “wait you are Hannah physical therapist, right?”

“Yes, I actually am her physical therapist that’s how Ava and I met. Funny story really Ava walked into a wall.” Sara laughed as Ava pushed her away from Carol.

“You know what you can hear that later let’s go finish dinner.” Ava said they all went back into the dining room where everyone was still eating.

Carol then insisted Ava switch places with her so she could sit next to Sara now where she should be sitting. And dinner went off without another hitch. They eventually got to the presents and Zion was freaking out everyone in that room had spoiled her just the right amount. Alex of course had given lists out and everyone made sure they didn’t double up on gifts, so she had tons of new play clothes and toys. They did the Secret Santa; everyone was excited about random gifts they all got. By the end of the night most had said their goodbyes and Hannah had retreated into her room with another headache.

Suddenly Ava found herself alone in the kitchen with none other than one Sara Lance, as they worked on loading the dishwasher in silence Ava suddenly realized something and stopped.

“I have something for you.” Ava says nervously “Ill be right back.” Ava quickly walks towards her room where she has hidden the gift. Not wanting to put it under the tree as it wasn’t a Christmas gift but a birthday gift for her and something, she wanted to give her privately. She makes her way back to the kitchen where Sara has taken a seat at the island and waited patiently for Ava to return. Ava slides the small box towards Sara with a smile.

“You know you already got me a gift?” Sara eyes the small present and pulls it over towards her.

“Yes, but that was your Christmas gift, this is your birthday gift.” Ava sits next to her and waits anxiously for Sara to open the gift. “I remembered a story you told me, and I saw this and thought it was perfect.”

Ava watched as Sara took the wrapping paper off and a small box was exposed, and Sara knew that meant it was jewelry. Sara tightened her grip on the box, it had been so long since she had been with someone on any holiday or her birthday she was nervous and when she opened the box her eyes suddenly filled with tears she couldn’t believe what she saw. A gold necklace that connected at the charm of two canaries intertwined together on what looked to be a small branch of a tree at the bottom. Sara ran her fingers over the birds and a tear slowly dropped down her cheek. She looked at Ava slowly stood up and took the box from her. Ava then removed the necklace from the box walking behind Sara and pushing some of her hair to the side and slid the necklace around her neck clasping it securely in the back. Sara didn’t move she was just trying to breath steadily as her fingers found the necklace and ran over the birds that now lie on her skin. Ava stayed behind Sara not sure what to do or say, she knew Sara had tears and she was worried she had possibly overstepped or worse brought up some bad memory.

“D…Do you like it?” She whispered.

Sara didn’t say anything she let her fingers fall and made a choice in that moment. Sara slowly turned to see Ava whose head was lowered looking at the floor she reached her hand up to her chin and brought her eyes to meet her own. Without saying a word, she placed a very soft kiss on Ava’s lips and stood up taking Ava’s hand in hers and started to pull them towards the living room. No words were spoken as Ava stayed in step behind her but when they by passed the living room and ended up in the hallway in front of Ava’s bedroom door Sara stopped. She looked back at Ava whose breathing had quickened, her face red with blush but when her eyes met Sara’s everything stopped. Sara turned the knob on the door never breaking eye contact with Ava and just waited for her response. The door opened and exposed Ava’s room to the hallway and the two stood there silently looking at each other Ava broke eye contact for a moment looking into her room and then back to Sara and it clicked Sara wanted this and so did Ava.

Ava pulled Sara into her body and brought their lips together and walked her backwards into the room using her foot to close the door never breaking their kiss. They stood in the middle of the room pressed together exploring each other’s lips softly no rushing. Sara’s hands moving to the hem of Ava’s shirt and her hands reaching under it causing Ava’s breath to catch and a smirk on Sara’s face that Ava could feel through their kisses. It was a catalyst for Ava who then broke the kiss and pulled her top off without warning and Sara’s eyes widened at a topless Ava with only a bra on. Ava reaches down to the hem of Sara’s shirt and her hand makes contact with skin and looks to Sara’s eyes and she nods giving Ava the permission she needs as she lifts the shirt over Sara’s head and it falls to the ground next to hers. They both take a moment glancing and touching with their fingers before their eyes meet again and their bodies connect in one swift motion and lips collide. Ava walks Sara back towards the bed until her legs hit the side of the bed and Ava slowly lowers Sara down onto her back. They break apart momentarily to adjust to be fully on the bed and find each other lips again as Ava slowly lowers her body onto Sara’s. They spend the night exploring each other with lips, hands, and tongues.

As the sun peaks through the curtains lighting up the room Ava who is asleep on her stomach starts to open her eyes. She feels the weight of another body draped over her, she can feel arms wrapped around her waist and skin on skin as her eyes open to the light in the room. Her mind flashes back to lips on hers, lips on her body, she closes her eyes and see’s blue eyes piercing in her memory. Her name being called in between moans, her lips pressed against Sara’s to stifle sweet cries of pleasure. She doesn’t want to move the feeling of pure bliss wrapped around her she takes a deep breath. Sara starts to stir next to her and she can feel the woman shift slightly, and she feels lips against her shoulder slowly moving towards her neck as she lay there taking in the moment not daring to move. Suddenly she can feel breath on the side of her face and a smile breaks across her face.

“Good Morning beautiful.” Sara’s husky sleepy voice sends a flurry of fire through her whole body as she tries but fails not to groan.

“Mmmmm.” Is all Ava can manage her mind still floating with all the memories of the hours before. Ava slowly turns her body so she can face Sara, she ends up on her back as Sara leans back to allow her to move and then slowly lowers herself into Ava’s shoulder still half on the taller woman. Sara relaxes into Ava and they just lay there holding each other. Ava’s hand moving slowly against Sara’s back and Sara’s hands drawing tiny circles on Ava’s stomach. Its pure bliss for both of them and neither want it to end, they both lay in silence just taking in every moment every touch with smiles on their faces. Finally, Ava realizes something. “You never did answer my question?” She looks down at Sara who looks up at her confused Ava’s free hand that isn’t wrapped around Sara comes up to the necklace she is wearing, and her fingers run across the Canaries. Sara brings her fingers to meet Ava’s and she looks at the woman that has her in her arms.

“It’s the most beautiful gift anyone has ever given me.” She says her gaze never leaving Ava’s her hands moves to Ava’s cheek and she pulls herself up and places a soft kiss on Ava’s lips. Ava’s pulls her closer and deepens the kiss, Sara’s body moves to lay on top of Ava’s and their hands are back to exploring as the kiss engulfs both into a morning of pure bliss.
