Nice to Meet You
Peter was walking through the city, airpods in his ears. The airpods were a gift from Mr. Stark, who had bought them the moment he had heard that Peter liked listening to music.
A slight shiver caused through his body as a harsh breeze blew through the air, cutting through his hoodie and stinging his skin.
The early October had made the chill in the air all too noticeable, to Peter’s dismay. Peter hated the cold. Ever since the spiderbite, his body has been unable to regulate his temperature, making it almost impossible to stay warm on the coldest of the winter days.
The teen pulled out a piece of paper with an address on it, studying it precisely. He looked up at the building in front of him. It looked pretty normal, if you took out the huge symbol on the face of the building.
Peter took a shuddering breath, feeling the small package in his pocket for what it seemed like the 100th time.
He took the airpods out of his ears. The whole reason he was at the sorcerer's Sanctum was to give a thank-you gift to Dr. Strange.
Yesterday there was a fierce battle against some random wizard with shapeshifting powers and without him, Peter would have been stuck as an angry ferret for the rest of his life. He walked up to the overly-large doors, anxiety buzzing through his body.
What if he messed up in front of him? And what if he was turned back into a ferret? Peter pushed the thoughts down and lifted his fist up to knock on the door.
His jaw dropped in shock as the door opened on its own, no person neccisary.
Peter took another deep breath, and then stepped in the building, his hand shaking nervously.
His eyes immediately flitted around like a bird jumping from one post to another, taking in everything around him. Whoa. Was the only thought coursing through his mind as he gazed at the large staircase and architecture around him. The huge staircase was almost looming, like a shadowy beast ready to strike.
“Hey!” a voice cut through Peter's thoughts, ending them quickly.
“What are you doing here?” Peter turned around, facing who had said the sentence.
It was a kid who was around his age, maybe a bit older. He was a few inches taller than Peter, with a muscular build and tan skin and he was wearing jeans and a white T-shirt. The weirdest thing about him though, was his bright blue eyes and his wavy hair, which was a silvery-white color.
Peter didn’t realize he was staring until the boy waved a hand in front of his face.
“-you good?” He asked, concern laced in his expression.
Peter nodded, his face heating up in embarrassment. The guy nodded, then he tilted his head
“So why are you here?” He asked again. Peter chuckled sheepishly
“Well, I’m here to thank Dr.- Uh Mr. S-strange” He stuttered out, his face heating up in embarrassment once again.
“Oh, Stephen?” The boy asked, a small smile playing on his face.
“Yeah, he’s upstairs” He started to walk up the large staircase.
Peter stood in shock. Who was this guy? He turned around and gestured for Peter to follow.
“Cmon!” He smiled. Peter jogged to keep up with him as they walked up the stairs.
“I’m Adrian, by the way” Adrian held out his hand, and Peter shook it.
“I’m Peter '' They finished walking up the stairs, and Adrian turned to the teen.
“So, why do you have to say thank you to Stephen?” Peter looked at Adrian, his gaze falling to his bright blue eyes.
“Oh, he saved me yesterday in the attack” Adrians face screwed up in confusion.
“Stephen saved a lot of people, you don’t have to thank him…”
Peter sighed “Well, I got turned into a ferret, and he turned me back so…” Peter trailed off. Adrian’s eyes widened.
“Actually?!” He laughed
“That's really cool” He seemed to realize his words and struggled to fix his mistake
“N-not cool!” He said quickly.
“It must have been really scary and-”
“Adrian” A voice cut through the air. Peter and Adrian's head whipped around.
Doctor Strange was standing down the hallway, a stern expression echoing through his face.
“Go down to the Hong Kong sanctum and talk to Wong about your training.” Adrian nodded, then took off in a speed walk down the stairs. Strange turned to Peter, his face crinkled into a small smile.
“Funny seeing you here” He chuckled, then his face morphed into a stern expression.
“Why are you here?” Peter straightened his posture.
“ Uh… I wanted to say thank you Mr.- Dr. Strange - Sir” Dr.Strange chuckled
“Stephen is fine, you calling me Sir makes me feel old” Peter nodded.
“Uh- Stephen, i wanted to say thank you for helping yesterday” He said quickly. Stephen's face broke into a grin
“Ah, no problem, we couldn't have you running around as a ferret.” He chuckled. Peter grabbed the box out of his pocket.
“Uh- Mr. Stark wanted to give this to you” He said, holding out the box to Stephen's hand.
The man took it, studying it intently before looking back up to Peter.
“Tell Tony I said thanks” He said, nodding. Peter turned, and began to walk away when Stephen's voice rang through the air.
“I see you've met Adrian” Peter turned back, remembering the upbeat guy.
“Y-yeah” He stuttered out.
“He’s a nice guy,” Stephen continued.
“You two would make good friends” Peter smiled
“He seems pretty nice” Peter paused.
“Why is he in the Sorcerer's Sanctum anyway? He’s my age” Stephen nodded.
“Adrian is training to become the next sorcerer supreme” Peter's eyes widened
“Actually?” He choked out
“That's so cool I mean-” Stephen cut him off
“Okay, that's enough, calm down” Peter shut his mouth that was wide open
“Okay” He said, walking away from Stephen to the stairs. “I’ll see you later” He began to walk down the stairs, still reeling from that experience.
As he walked out of the building one thought echoed through his head. Who was this Adrian guy? And what the heck was going on with his hair?
