Before the dance
Chai calms herself before entering the event, she squats down on the ground crumpling the suit she'd last worn since her job interview.
"It's going to be okay, I just need to calm down and avoid eye contact with her– ah!" She blushes yet again as she got reminded of her dream, she doesn't know quite well why she had that dream nor the emotions she's feeling from that but one thing's for sure, she can't seem to calm down at the thought and sight of Haley.
'Ahh, even saying her name makes me feel... warm..' her heart races faster at every second as her face heats up.
A rustling sound surprises her and as she looks up she saw a blue-haired girl wearing a cute frilly dress.
"Hey there Chai!" Emily greeted. "Oh no, are you okay?" She asks worriedly as she looks at the current state Chai is in.
"It's nothing, I was just, err, too excited about this event." Chai replied as Emily beams a smile at her. "Oh and, hey you look nice in that dress!"
"Thank you!" She replied as she smiles at me. "Well, are you still nervous? Want to hold my hand?" She asks as she offered her hand, I nod as I take her hand.
We went inside hand in hand and I noticed Haley glaring at me, I shivered and looked away as I try my best to ignore her and socialise.
Haley gulped down the water she had in her hand and grips at the plastic bottle, she stare daggers at Chai who was talking to Emily while holding her hand.
Haley doesn't know why it bothered her but none of that matters for her at the moment.
'Why is she holding her hand? Why are they acting friendly??' As floods of questions flooded her mind Alex greets her.
"Hey! You're gorgeous as always eh~" He greeted with a flirty smirk. "What's wrong?" He looks at Haley with a worried look on his face after realising that she's in a bad mood.
"It's nothing." Haley replied as she sat down on the chair angrily. "Anyways, you're late. You know that we need to practice before the dance right?" Alex looks at her apologetically.
"Hahahahahaha, sorry, sorry!" He replied. "Anyways, let's go dance!" He offered his hand and bent his back slightly. "Your hand, milady?" He asks with a smirk on his face.
Haley felt disgusted but put her hands on his anyways, he kisses her hand as she stands up and they soon dance.
Chai looked at the two practising with a smile on their face, she couldn't help but feel a hollow in her chest as she looks at the two. She doesn't know why she's feeling that way but the way the two dance while smiling and giggling with one another annoys and saddens her.
Emily notices the way Chai looks at her sister and Alex. She felt the sadness embedded in those stares and she couldn't help but offer her a dance.
"So, would you like to dance with me?" She asks as Chai looks at her baffled but she soon replied with a smile
"Gladly!" Chai replied with enthusiasm.
