Halloween
"Hello detka" Wanda says cuddling up to me.
"Hello my love." I respond turning off my phone.
"Nat and I wanted to get in the fall mood so do you want to come with us to the pumpkin patch. We can pick out pumpkins to carve." She smiles.
"We can go where and do what?" I ask confused. When I was born my mother worked for hydra and so I was automatically put in the labs for them to test powers on me. I got out earlier this year around late January then started dating Nat and Wanda in August. Because of this I still have a lot to learn about normal life.
"Oh right. Around Halloween people carve pumpkins into scary faces or sometimes cute ones as Halloween decorations. And you get them from a pumpkin patch. There are other fun activities and treats there too. So are you in? We'd go tomorrow." She informs me.
"Sure." I smile and agree. She texts Natasha who within a minute or two comes into the room and the three of us cuddle for a bit.
The next day when I wake up Wanda and Nat are already out of bed so I get dressed. I wear a flannel with some jeans before heading to the kitchen and finding them cooking pancakes.
"Good morning." Wanda smiles and I wave back. I sit next to Natasha and watch Wanda cook. I put whipped cream and cinnamon on my pancakes and dig in while the other two smile.
We finish up eating and get in the car for the hour long drive out the city and to the pumpkin patch. Once we get there I can't help the smile that lights up my face.
"Oh my gosh. This is so cool." I say excitedly. The three of us exit the car and walk past some flowers. We enter the building where they are selling fall themed foods like apple cider donuts and pumpkin decorated cookies.
"We'll get some food and drinks once we are done looking at stuff but first we need tickets for the hay ride and if you're up for it the haunted house." Nat says looking at me.
"The what?" I ask confused.
"So there are these people called scare actors and they usually work in places like haunted houses and try to scare them. You walk through while they jump out and stuff. The hay ride isn't scary though." She explains.
"Oh ok." I agree and she goes and buys the tickets. While Nat is in line Wanda and I look at some of the painted pumpkins.
"Hey look it's you." I point out happily at a pumpkin of Wanda.
"Huh" She says with a smile.
"We ready." Nat says.
"Yes!" say excitedly walking out of the building into the crisp autumn air. We get on the hay ride which takes us on a quick forest ride with hay bails painted to look like different characters.
"Look it's bluey!" I whisper to them and they both smile.
"Oh look it's Jack and Sally." Nat says pointing out the characters.
After the hay ride we arrive at the patch and look at everything.
"How about this. Corn maze, haunted house, pick our pumpkins, back on the hay ride, then food." Wanda says planning it out and Nat and I agree.
We go over the the corn maze which wasn't a scary one just a normal one and try to figure out the way through but end up getting lost.
"Wait what?" Wanda says
"Fuck this I'm going through." Nat says and we follow. We find our way out through the corn and head over to the haunted house.
I take both women's hands in mine. I never liked jump scares.
"You sure you wanna do this?" Nat asks and I nod so we head in.
We are allowed into the first room where there is just a bunch of mirrors and some ghost lights floating around in the dimmed room.
"Oh this shouldn't be that bad." I say smiling.
I was wrong.
The second room we went into had an animatronic of Freddy fazbear that pops out at us and I laugh.
The next room seems empty but then all the sudden from all directions clowns start slowly walking towards us some with baseball bats or chainsaws reving them up as they come closer.
"Uh uh I don't mess with clowns."I say smushing between my girlfriends and nat laughs a bit. "It's not fucking funny." I say laughing out of nerves.
"I'm sorry baby." Wanda smiles once we leave that room.
"It's fine I wanted to do this. Let's go" I say peeking into the next room and seeing dolls hung all over. "I regret wanting to do this." I whine and see Natashas eyes widen at the dolls.
"Nope " she says simply.
"Are you afraid of dolls?" Wanda asks when Natasha clutches one of our hands in each of hers.
"Not afraid just slightly spooked" Natasha says clearly scared. Wanda and I share a knowing smile.
We get out of that room quickly and make it to another room full of mirrors but there are projectors so ghost and zombie apparitions and in the form of a maze.
"Oh god" I say not being able to see anything. I walk directly into a mirror much to the amusement of the other two and I grumble. "Oh my god my forehead." And they giggle more. "Fine then one of you guys lead." I pout.
We continue making our way through the maze all of us bumping into mirrors at least once.
The next and last room/area has a couple killers jump out in an old timey house set.
We finally get out and I didn't like it. The jump scares made me uneasy but I got through it.
"You ok detka." Wanda checks while Natasha also looks at me worried.
"Yeah fine. Pumpkin time!" I cheer. We pick out pumpkins. We each get a tiny one to paint on our own and then get a big one for us all to carve.
Nat carries the big pumpkin and her small one while Wanda and I carry just our small ones.
We get into hay ride and it takes us back on the same path. We get to the building again and Nat pays for everything. We then get apple cider donuts and apple cider and sit at one of the tables.
"Thanks Natty." I say with some donuts in my mouth.
"Of course дорогой (darling in Russian)." She replies with a smile. We finish our food and drinks and head back to the tower and head up to our floor.
We first carve the big pumpkin and remove the seeds from the guts. I found out I hate the feeling of the guts so Wanda and Nat did most the work.
"Here rinse the seeds in the strainer so we can bake them." Nat says handing me the bowl. I do as I'm told and put them on a baking sheet and into the oven.
"What should we carve?" Wanda asks.
After a little while we made our pumpkin after looking on Pinterest for ideas.
We made a winking pumpkin smiling with a heart for an eye.
"I like it." Nat says and Wanda and I agree.
We start to paint our tiny pumpkins. I paint a little ghost family, Wanda paints a black cat and Natasha paints ghost face.
The pumpkins seeds are taken out the oven and they taste so good I take a little bowl of them in the living room and we decide to watch some movies as a good way to end our night. We watch nightmare before Christmas, Coraline, corpse bride, Edward scissor hands, and the original hocus pocus before we decide to finally go to our room to sleep.
