Chapter 1
“I’m not going anywhere!” Rosalie shouted standing in Cullen’s dining room (or more accordingly operational center, since all important conversations took place in that room). It’s been around 6 hours since unfortunate events of Bella’s birthday took place. For those six hours the whole clan was trying to figure out how to navigate the crisis.
Edward sighed. “But Rosalie we don’t have other choice. She could die today, just because of us–”
“Just because of you! You are the one that threw her on the wall!” Blonde girl started to lose her patience. Not that she had a lot of it, but this situation is ridiculous. She always have known that this will end like it – that this poor girl would be hurt by this hubris jerk. “I’m not going anywhere” She repeated.
“Rose calm down. I believe Edward is right. We shouldn’t have grown this close to Bella, we shouldn’t have told her our secret. It’s dangerous not only for her but also for us.” Carlile cuts in to deescalate the argument. But Rosalie knew better, she knew that Edward had them all wrapped around his finger. Realistically Edward is the one who makes the decisions, even though no one would admit it.
“Don’t you think that it’s too late to draw back? She knows our secret – it’s dangerous to leave her like that. You know that Volturi would kill us if they ever find out about it.” Rosalie tried to reason with this bunch of idiots.
“It doesn’t matter, they won’t find out. She isn’t going to tell anyone. Who would believe her anyways?” Edward was talking to her as if she was an unsubordinated child. She grinded her teeth.
“You know this isn’t about anyone’s belief.” She hissed. “It’s about them finding out. YOU are the one that put us in this situation, and now you want to leave. Is it what you do for your mate?” Rosalie wanted to hurt his pride. It’s him who misused the concept of mates just to make himself more appealing for Bella. As if the fact that he looked like a model, with supernatural powers wasn’t enough for this simple human to fell over her feet.
Edward looked like she’s just hit him in a very vulnerable place. Not that vampires could feel physical pain like that, but Rose liked to watch goofy TV shows, where accidents like that happen. Anyways Edward looked just like that. She would feel sorry for him if she wasn’t this furious.
“Don’t you even dare to bring this topic!” She had him – Edward was beginning to frustrate. This is all she wanted. Rosalie knew that she was right, and most importantly he knew she was right.
“Why is there something wrong?” She tried to sound as sweet, and as innocent as she possibly could. Edward was fuming – he tighten his jaw, and clenched his fists. Did he try to scare her? Good luck in that. Maybe she couldn’t read minds, but she was as fast, and as strong as him.
Alice noticed sudden change in their behavior, maybe even saw that in the span of seconds they would start to fight. “HEY!” She yelled. “Stop that. If I can say something – I don’t see Bella ratting us out.”
“See. We are safe Rosalie. Don’t act unreasonable. You don’t even like her anyways. Why do you care so much?” Edward smirk came back to his face.
“Because she is a living person. She has feelings you stupid jerk. And you are about to break her stupid heart. Her bond with you is so strong – she might die from sorrow. This girl is too unstable for you to leave her like that.” Rosalie couldn’t believe her words. She didn’t care about Bella, but she experienced this kind of heartbreak. Her fiancée betrayed her trust, and did unspeakable things to her. She has to live with it, even though every day is a small battle. She wouldn’t wish anyone to go through this kind of pain.
“Bella will be better when she forget me.” Edward said. “This was a mistake. I shouldn’t be with her. I’m too dangerous. It’s only matter of time when I will snap and hurt her – I love her. I don’t want to see her withering by my side. When I leave it will hurt for short time. If I stay her whole life would be miserable.”
“Then you should have think about it beforehand” Rosalie had enough. If he wanted to leave then he should. If he cannot take accountability for his actions, then let him run away, like a coward. “Leave if you want to, but I’m not going anywhere.”
“Then stay Rosalie. Someone needs to take care of house anyways. We all have a free will and can do what we want to. Does anyone else want to stay in Forks?” Carlisle ended the conversation.
