Past and Conversations
Mori remembered. All of it. All of what he tried to forget. All of his past.
When he was a toddler, his universe was pruned. Destroyed. B-15 saved him and his sister, and raised them to become part of the TVA with another child. They were given the names L-24 for Mori, T-75 for Elise, and N-15 for Natsume.
When Mori and Elise became 10, they wanted to know why they were the only children in the TVA, so B-15 told them. About their nexus event. About how them taking in a human Loki variant, and the birth of a goddess separate from Thor caused it all. They continued their path, regardless.
Then, it happened.
The multiverse was freed. They would not get pruned by the TVA anymore. Mori, Natsume, and Elise could live normal lives!
Natsume stole a Tempad and made a portal to a branch on a Timeline. The three went through, and made their own lives.
Natsume became a protector of the people, as he found out he had superpowers. He assumed that was his Nexus Event.
Mori followed Natsume’s instructions, and became part of the Port Mafia. Elise chose to follow, wanting to be able to protect him.
When Yosano became part of the Port Mafia during the war, Mori pushed her too hard. He forced her to heal people with her ability, not wanting anyone to die. He also was extremely overprotective, as he started viewing Yosano as his daughter. When Tachihara’s brother committed suicide, Mori realized how badly he messed up Yosano’s mental health. He sent her to a mental hospital, hoping they could help her, and he would get her after her mental health was better and it was safe for her.
Then came Dazai. A small suicidal kid, taken to him by a member, Hirotsu he remembered, who witnessed him making an attempt. He wanted him healed, so that was what Mori did. When he was healed, Hirotsu told him that he was unable to take him in, so he asked Mori to look after him.
Dazai hated his family, so Mori kept him away. He helped him choose his new name, and then it came. Orders from Natsume. To kill the Mafia boss and take over it. Mori couldn’t refuse, feeling that he was in debt. But he needed someone to witness it. So he had Dazai be the witness. He hated it, betraying this child who did nothing wrong.
Dazai joined the Mafia, and Mori couldn’t help feeling responsible for that. He became more and more suicidal, and Mori blamed himself. Nevertheless, he chose to get Yosano. Then his son-figure could have a friend, and sibling, his own age.
Fukuzawa stopped him, after finding out what he did. He refused to allow Mori to take her. So Mori gave up, since Fukuzawa could give her a better life than Mori could ever do.
After remembering this, Mori woke up extremely triggered.
“Are you alright, Doctor?” Fukuzawa asked him, patting him on the back.
“No.” Mori glanced around the room, eyes landing on the group in the corner. He knew Loki, Möbius, and B-15 were there, but had just noticed Obi, Sylvie, and Casey were there as well.
“So, who are these people?” Fukuzawa needed to know this.
“People from my past.” Mori glanced again. “Hello, B-15. Mobius. Casey.” He chose to only name those he knew best.
“Long time no see, L-24,” B-15 said calmly, with a caring smile, “Glad to see you living your life.”
“You’re not upset with me?”
“Why would I be?” She looked genuinely confused.
“I abandoned my post in the TVA.”
She sighed before replying. “You weren’t an official member. Hence how you were aging there. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Why are you here then?”
“We need your help. With something important.” She threw a quick glance at Fukuzawa.
Mori got the message.
“Fukuzawa, do you mind leaving? I’m pretty sure I would have to explain a lot right now, for it to make sense.” Mori attempted to explain this to the best of his ability. “I’m going to explain this all afterwards.”
“Alright,” he replied. Mori did not need to know he was planning on eavesdropping on the conversation.
“Why are you all here?” Mori needed to know why, if they were not there to prune him.
“It’s simple,” Loki stated, “We need your help. You know this universe, and this will help save the multiverse.”
“How so?”
“Well,” Loki started, “as you know, there are variants of everyone. To keep the multiverse intact, we have to kill all of the variants of He Who Remains.”
“Who’s He Who Remains?”
“Remember the Timekeepers?” Mobius asked as Mori nodded, “He Who Remains is basically them. We need to kill all of them for the timelines to exist.”
“And you want me to find the He Who Remains so I can kill them?” Mori asked.
“Yes.”
