The Entrance
Today was a normal day. The Port Mafia was running smoothly, and there was not a lot of work for Mori to do.
That was until he was contacted by one of his executives, Kouyou.
“Sir, there are some people who would like to speak with you about manners they are refusing to tell me,” she explained, “would you like me to send them up?”
He simply responded with, “What are their names?”
She paused for a second. “They are saying Mobius, Loki, and B-15. Do you know them, sir?”
Mori paused. He hadn’t heard those names in years. They had found me, was all he could think, I am going to be pruned.
Despite this, he told her “Yes, please send them up.”
A few seconds later, the door to his office opened. Surprisingly, it was none of the three mentioned that came through. It, instead, was the president of the Armed Detective Agency himself.
Despite the conflict between the two groups, Fukuzawa and Mori were dating. They cared for each other, and did their best to make their relationship as not toxic as possible. That included telling each other the truth, which Mori mostly did.
“Surprised?” Fukuzawa said after seeing the look on his face. “I thought we planned a meeting.”
“Sorry,” Mori replied, “an event that was unplanned distracted me and I forgot.”
“Oh. Do you mind telling me what?”
“Sorry. It has to do with the past.”
Fukuzawa immediately understood, and did not push farther. He knew that Mori had a lot of trauma he was uncomfortable about. Fukuzawa knew not to push, especially after being warned by Natsume not to discuss it.
Instead of pushing, he replied with, “Well, hopefully that will not distract you too much. We have to go over the plans of agreement between our groups. Since the conflict with the Guild ended a while ago, I thought I should check to make sure that there is still a peace agreement.”
“Of course there is,” the partner clearly stated, “without it, our groups would go on attacking one another. We can’t have that, especially with a rumor I have heard. There has been a few similar murders, not done by the Mafia, that I am afraid might spread to our groups.”
“Why?”
“They are only going after ability users. There hasn’t been enough to say this for certain, but I think that it is highly likely that they will continue targeting us.”
Mori winced as he said to us. He knew the truth; he didn’t have an ability. The idea that Elise was his ability was false, since she was his adopted sister.
He remembered when he told that to Fukuzawa. He was shocked, most likely due to the rumors of her being Mori’s daughter or wife. The daughter one, he could understand. She definitely looked the part, but she was older than him. The wife part he had a harder time understanding. Did they really think that he could be a pedophile? He had done some questionable things to Dazai and Yosano, but he did it to (hopefully) prevent them getting hurt.
That was when there was a knock on the door. Three figures stepped into the office afterwards, like a parent doing that for a warning before entering. Mori passed out, not because of the new people or a problem, but due to the fact that they were actually there. It wasn’t a matter of a group claiming to be them to threaten him. He knew his time was up, so he would just make it easier for these people, if you can even call them that, to prune them.
