Happy Birthday
8/5/1936, The Summer Palace, Atlantis
Namor was swimming around when he heard the sound of his mother, “Get back here, Namor.” she had ordered, making him look back, “Mom, I have to be somewhere!” he had said, making her glare, “I want to talk to you.” she had explained and hearing that, he had sighed before going and entered the room where he saw his mother sitting, “I tidied my room if that’s the problem.” he had told her.
“Not about that.” she had told him, “This girl you’re seeing… she’s cute?” Fen had asked, making him know that it was going to be a while, as he put his trident down, “Yeah. And she’s called Sandra.” he had said and hearing that, Fen had looked to him, “What’s she like?” His mother had asked of him, making him smile while looking away, “She’s different.” he had explained as she still worked.
“Different from the girls you usually drift with?” she had asked, liking Nammu and Dorma, but not the ones that he… woos, “Of course. She’s dry.” he had said, making Fen glare at him, “That’s not what I meant.” she had told him, making Namor think, “She’s not like other girls. That’s all I can say.” he had explained to his mother, making her smile as she went and offered him one of her crafts.
“Namor, take this before you go.” she had instructed of him, making Namor curious as he had taken the object and examined it, “What is it, Mom?” he had asked of her, “Namorita’s birthday is coming up. It’s an invitation for Sandy.” she had said, making him kiss her cheek, “You’re the best, Mom.” he said, making Fen smile as she knew that it was true and wondered what he’d do.

Sandy was sitting on an towel as she had watch the waves crash on the rock she was on for now, “Caught anything?” he had asked, showing his reflection to reveal himself to her, seeming nervous, she spoke, “Look what the tide’s brought in.” she had said as he had knelt to look as well, “A star fish.” he had told her, “It’s beautiful, but so delicate.” Sandra told him, “It’s be so easy to spoil all of this.”
At that, Sandra had went and stood up, staring into his eyes, “You seem sown. Are you okay?” he had asked of her as Sandra had pushed his hair back to see his ears, to see all of him, “Namor, you should understand better than anyone. We can’t interfere with nature.” she had said, confusing Namor, “Of course we can.” he said, if not, he never would have existed in the first place.
“Left to nature, the sharks would devour all the children of Atlantis. Left to nature,we’re on the knife edge between prospering and going hungry, depending on the season’s fish migrations.” he had said to her, “That’s different. I mean…” but before Sandra could speak, a wave had went and hit them both, making Sandra stumble, “It looks idyllic underneath, but there’s only THIS much between us and survival.”
That was when she saw the small distance between his fingers while still trying to recover, “I’ve been thinking… Atlantis taught land dwellers how to use nets to fish. Now WE should be looking at how YOU do things on land… with cars and ships and machines.” he had said and hearing that, Sandra had looked as the waters had receded, “I like Atlantis as it is, WITHOUT those things.”
Instead of answering that though, he had went and offered her the shell, “Here.” he had said, confusing Sandra as she had opened it to see the message inside, “It’s in English. An invitation…?” she had asked, “It’s my first cousin once removed Namorita’s birthday party tomorrow. Will you come?” he had asked her, “Will there be dancing?” she had asked him as they jumped in, “But of course!” he told her.

Nammu had decided to keep an eye on Sandra, wearing a gill scarf and a pinkling dress she stole from a clothing line as she saw that men were building a machine, “What’s going on?” Liz had said as Nammu listened from her hiding space, “Progress.” Sandra said with a sound of disdain in her voice as she had turned back to her friend and took her hands.
“Liz… I’m going back to Atlantis, and I want you to come. It’s AMAZING down there.” Sandra had asked, making Nammu curious at that, “I don’t think it’s such a good idea.” Liz said, “Not after last time.” she had said, relieving Nammu until Sandra said four words she knew would make it two, “Bobo’ll be there.” he had said and hearing that Nammu had went to go and get ready for the trouble.

Namor had went and lead the two of them through as the Atlanteans had danced, riding on the giant crabs and turtles while woman in the scaled one pieces danced with fans, “C’mon, girls, keep up!” he had told the two, “The party’s already started!” he had explained, getting her hand as the two of them had swam over, “Everyone’s dying to meet you.” he had told them.
“Namorita certainly has a lot of party guests.” Sandra had told him, “Of course, she’s a princess like Namor–” Nammu started when a very happy woman had grabbed Namor in an octopus hug, “C’mere, you! Let’s dance!” she had said to him, “That’s Atlantis… any excuse for a party.” he had said before escaping the woman who had went and found herself a new beau.
“Where’s Bobo?” Liz had asked them both, “He’s helping his pa with construction. He’ll drop in later.” Namor had told them, “Are you going to be okay, Liz?” Sandra had asked of her, “I guess so…” she said with a nervous smile, “Come on! That means more fun for us!” Nammu had said as they had entered through the roof, swimming downwards into the atrium with the children and family there.
“It’s so weird. What is it?” one of her cousins had asked, looking at a mouse in a pressure bubble with Namorita and her sister, “It’s from dry land.” Fen had told them, “Gotta be from Namor then.” The other sister had said to them before they had noticed that there was the four who had landed, Fen and Beemer approaching, “Mom, this is Sandra and her friend, Elizabeth.” he had told her.
At that, Fen had went and approached her, making Sandra nervous, “Pleased to meet–” she started before Fen went and hugged her, the princess being a MAJOR hugger, “Sandra!” she had told her, “–you.” she had said, surprised enough to not be sure what to say now, “This is my mom, Fen.” Namor had told her before Fen had went and grabbed Sandra’s hand.
“You have to meet everyone! Are you hungry? You look like you need feeding up.” Fen had told her as they had swam past Beemer and the King, “That’s King Thakorr. I’ll introduce you to him later.” Fen had promised as they had went to go and meet the REAL power that was behind the throne, “Meet Queen Korra, Sandra.” Fen had told her, making Sandra a bit awkward as she had went and bowed.
“It’s a pleasure to see you again, your majesty.” she had said with a curtsey, “We’ve already met, Fen.” Korra had told her daughter, “And there’s no need to be formal with me, dear.” the queen said before going to hug her, “Come here!” she had demanded, bringing her into a deep hug as the King had approached, “We don’t stand on ceremony here.” Korra had explained.
“You got somethin’ to say, come right out and say it, don’t ask for an appointment.” she had informed of her, making Sandra smile, “Oh, I won’t.” she had said towards her as Thakorr had went and approached, “And this is the king of Atlantis, but you can call him Thakorr.” Korra said, gently pushing her husband forwards, “You’re always welcome in Atlantis.” he said like Korra made him rehearse.
“Thank you.” Sandra had said, making them all glad that they didn’t bring Krang this summer as Fen took control, “This is my sister, Zarina and her daughter, my nieces, and Namora, my niece and Namorita’s mother.” she had said as the two older women gently pushed the three girls forward while Liz poked at the food that was there, “Oh good, I have a present for Namorita.” Sandra said.
Just then, a small crab got Liz, “It bit me!” she had went in pain, making Namor smile while Nammu took it and ate the crab in question, “Bytta, Dine and Namorita, this is Sandra.” Fen had said, making Dine grin while Bytta kept her arms crossed, “Namor’s ‘friend’.” Dine said, “Hee hee!” Namorita had giggled as Sandra ignored that, “Hi.” she had said as the littlest one introduced herself.
“I’m Namorita.” she had told her, “Happy Birthday.” Sandra had told her, offering the present to her to tear open, the three girls looking at it in wonder, “Wow!” Namorita had said in surprise they had looked, “Let me try it on.” Bytta had said as Namorita had put the bangle on, “What is it made of?” Namorita had asked of Sandra, “Bakelite.” she had answered, making the girls curious.
“Where do the Bakelites live? I want one.” Bytta had said and hearing that, the adults had smiled as the children had all went and started to play with it, “Good choice.” Namora had told her, making Sandra smile, “Come on, it’s time to eat.” Fen had said as Nammu, Liz and Namor had followed after them so that they would be able to enjoy some of the best Atlantean cuisine possible.

“Mommmm, are you gonna hog her all day?” Namor had asked as they had entered the dining hall, the royal family all going to their usual seats when Korra spoke, “Sorry, Zarina… make room for our guests.” her mother had ordered, irritating her as she and Beemer moved down to Nammu’s table instead, “So now the dry tail get a seat at the table?” he had demanded.
“Hold your tongue, son. Be patient.” Zarina had whispered, both of them knowing Nammu’s feelings towards the humans as Korra spoke, “Park your behind, honey.” she had ordered, “Oh my goodness, look at this!” she had said with a smile, looking at it all as they had all been seated together now, servants swimming upwards to put the food up onto the spiral pillar table they all sat at.
“This is all kinda new to you, Sandra, so we prepared some food you’re familiar with.” Korra had promised to them, “Oh, thank you!” Sandra had said, making them all smile and enjoy their food with each other while she had looked at the veggies that they had offered with a fork and a knife, “Actually, I’d like to try Atlantean food, if that’s all right.” she had said as Korra sucked the muscle out of the crab.
“That’s swell, honey.” she had said, making the human smile, “What are you waiting for?” she had asked, making Thakorr pat his grandson’s back, “This dry girl’s a good fish, Namor.” he had said, making Nammu break the shell of the crustacean she was eating, glaring at her before hearing Beemer andZarina, “I have an idea.” she had said before whispering into her son’s ear, “Hahaha!” he went.
The two daughters had smiled as their father and brother had come in, “Bobo, you’re late!” Zarina had shouted out, “Hi, Liz!” Bobo had said as he had went and sat down besides her, “Sorry to keep everyone waiting. Dig in!” Their father had said as Nammu had seen Beemer get some of the good food, “So… you want to try REAL Atlantean food?” Beemer had asked, “Certainly.” she said as Namor saw it.
“Uh, you don’t have to, it’s an acquired taste.” he had told her, reaching across her table to stop The girl, “I want to.” Sandra had said to them, surprising them all at that as Zarina had smirked towards the girl, “Battered eel brain is an Atlantean delicacy.” She had said, surprising Sandra before she had went and glared them and then went to continue eating the food, “Yum!” She told them, making Namor smile.
As they had done as much, Liz looked like she was getting sick, “Um… Bobo?” Liz had asked, making the boy nervous, “Liz!” he had said, going to help her, “What has she eaten?” Bobo had asked, “Hasn’t touched a minnow.” Fen told him as Sandra got worried too, “Poor Liz, the sea disagrees with her.” Sandra had said as his mother was getting angrier at what she was seeing.
“Not Bobo, too. My own son…” the princess had said in anger, “I think you’d better be getting Elizabeth home.” Korra had advised to him, and he agreed with that, “C’mon Liz, steady now.” Bobo had said as his brother and mother spoke, “Stay and finish your meal, son.” she had ordered, “Namor’ll take care of her.” Beemer had added, “But Mom…” Bobo had said so Nammu spoke.
“Come on, Bobo.” Nammu had said, making him look to his friend in surprise, “You haven’t even said hi to your sisters yet.” she had said, making him look to the pair who had looked antsy at him, he had looked at the two before he had sighed and decided to do as much, “Hey there, Bytta, Dine, what’ve you been up to?” he had asked them while Namora and Namorita had looked at Nammu with confusion.

The three of them had surfaced and helped Liz up, “So, you survived my folks.” Namor had joked, “Sorry, they can be a little overwhelming.” he had told Sandra, “No, your family is great. So open and relaxed.” Sandra had said to him, “Why didn’t Bobo come up with us?” Sandra had asked, “Well…not everyone’s as relaxed as Gran and Gramps.” He had explained to her.

They had arrived at the gate now as the night was upon them, “Is Liz staying with you?” Namor had asked of Sandra, “Yes, I can manage from here.” she had told him before opening it up and helping her to cross the threshold, “Let me help you home.” he had said to her, “I’m all right, really. I can manage.” she had promised to him, “So when do I get to meet YOUR folks?” he had asked as she had looked away.
“Soon.” She had said with a nervous smile, “Tomorrow?” he had asked, grinning at her, “Sorry, we’re opening the… uh, the new tennis court.” she had told him, “Really?” Namor had asked, not knowing what tennis was, before he could ask more, Sandra spoke, “She’s shivering, I’d best get her inside.” she had told Namor, “Sandy!” he had shouted before she could move away.
“Are you ashamed of me?” he had asked of her, “WHAT? No. Don’t be silly.” she had said towards him as the pair of them had kissed, neither one of them noticing that there was her mother watching them, as they had split apart, Namor had given one last look at them as they had went and split apart for now, Namor curious on what they were doing right now with whatever it is that a Tennis Court was.

Nammu had been invited by Namora for a swim, the two of them with Namorita had went and surfaced and as they had done so, Nammu had looked up to the sky, at least until Namora had spoken, “Do you hate The Surface Swellers?” Namora had asked, making the the young servant look to them, “What?” she had asked as Namorita had looked between her mother and Nammu.
“You didn’t leave to help the two girls and Namor.” Namora had told her, making Nammu raise an eyebrow, “They could take care of Liz on their own, and I don’t hate surface dwellers.” she had told her as Namorita had looked at them, “By the way, Dorma’s present finally came.” she had said and hearing that, the little princess had gotten excited at that, “Really?” she had asked.
“Yes…” she had said, figuring that she could give it to Namora, but Namorita had come, “Here you are, it’s some sort of stone that she had gotten from a cavern.” she had told her as Namorita had looked at the gem and was fascinated, “And I don’t hate surface dwellers… I just don’t like that Namor is looking at another girl while Dorma–” Nammu had started before she had went and covered her mouth.
“Nammu, that is one of the worst kept secrets in Atlantis,” she had said to her, just as a girl that was the same age as Namorita had went and swam upwards, “Lady Namora?” the girl had said, making Namora look, “What is it, Faira Sar Namora?” she had asked, making the little girl look to Namorita a bit nervous, “It’s time for Namorita’s less– lessons.” she had told her.
Hearing that, Namorita had gotten a bit nervous while Namora had nodded, “Thank you, Faira, please escort her to her tutor.” she had said and hearing that, Namorita had groaned as Nammu had looked to her, “Why are you being friendly with Beemer then?” Namora had asked, knowing that he was a bully to her and Namor with Byrrah, “Because I don’t trust him.” she had said.
That had confused the woman even more so, “They think I hate Surface Dwellers, might as well make him think we’re friends so I can warn Namor if a problem happens.” she had said and hearing that, Namora had smiled, the two of them glad, at least until they had both noticed that there was a group of Surface Dwellers by the coast, “Wanna spy?” Namora asked and Nammu was happy to do as well.
“A toast to our joint venture and my new yacht.” an older man had said with Nammu seeing Sandra in a red dress now, “To the beautiful sea, and all the riches she provides!” a man in white had said and as they had both heard that, the two women were a bit more worried about what would possibly be coming from the land dwellers and why they were putting such a contraption there.

8/7/1936, Dorma’s Chambers, Atlantis
Dorma had went and started to look over the messages that had been sent to her by Nammu Sar Dorma, seeing them and everything that she had told her and as Dorma had done so, she had gotten a bit nervous at namor’s interest in the girl, it made her wish that she could have gone with them, but no, somebody had to stay here, making sure that Byrrah didn’t try anything.
Taking a breath, she had went and started to look over the messages that the spies that she had went and started to get set up as she had noticed that there was something new from Nammu, it was about the birthday party and how the pinkling Sandra and a friend of hers was invited, it had made her jealous and more angry at the fact that she wasn’t able to get there.
As she had looked at it, there was a voice at the door, “Someone looks green with envy.” Byrrah had said, making Dorma scowl towards him, “Prince Byrrah, I thought I made myself clear that you are not invited in my quarters.” she had said towards the Prince who had went and chuckled as he had went and walked into the quarters, “And yet here I am, here instead of Namor.” he had told her.
“Yes, scheming as always, unlike Namor.” she had said towards him and hearing that, the prince had glared, “And when I am King, I’ll be sure to treat you how you have decided to treat me.” he had said and hearing that, Dorma had glared at him, “And when rightful prince becomes King, I am sure that you will get everything that you deserve.” she had said, making him grin wider at her.
“I am glad that we could come to an understanding.” he had said, lightly lifting her chin with his finger before gently kissing her lips, feeling that, Dorma had gripped her hands, her nails digging into her palms as he had stolen his kiss, as he had done as much and pulled back, he had looked at her, but Dorma had just given a small smile at that before going and seeing somebody.
“It appears that you are needed.” she had told him and hearing that, Byrrah had turned and saw that there was Warlord Krang there, “My prince, you are needed.” he had said and hearing that, Byrrah had smiled as he had went and followed him, once the two of them had left, Dorma had went and snapped her fingers, making the twin brothers Dara and Seth approach from the window.
“Dorma? What are we going to do?” Seth had asked, she had known that he had a crush on her, but he never acted on it, “We’re going to make sure that neither one of them has any power to overthrow when the others come back.” she had said and that had made the twins nod at that, both of them agreeing with that as the pair had figured that it was time for Tiny to help out.
