Mixing It Up
8/3/1936, Long Beach, Washington
The three had followed her towards the little houses that were there as they had waited, Bobo and Nammu watched with Sandra, “I’ll try and find some clothes for you to wear to the mixer.” she had said towards the two, “Nah. I prefer my parties wet.” Bobo said, “I like to see me legs.” Nammu said, figuring that all surface girls wore clothes like that as Namor came out.
“Wet? You mean no prohibition in Atlantis?” she had asked the two as Nammu had wolf whistled, “Hey, look at you!” Bobo had went as the two got up, “Alright, we’ll be heading back, see you later!” Bobo had said as the two of them linked arms, “They’re definitely going to get into trouble.” Nammu said, “I’m pretty sure that they’re both going to get wet in the end.” he said as they had both cackled.

“I wish Bobo and Nammu had stayed.” Sandra had said to Namor, “I think the suit put him off, Nammu is probably off doing her own adventure he had explained to her as she had straightened his tie, “I like Bobo.” She said, “He’s the best, just like Nammu and Dorma.” he had said to her, “Cute, too.” she had teased, making him lose his smile as she had looked him over.
“Why do they wear those weird scarves?” she had asked of Namor, “Weird?” he had asked, confused as he had walked in, “Come on, half–naked but for a scarf?” she had asked of him, “Uh, it’s… fashion.” he had said, unsure on how he would be able to explain it he had heard a music that was quite beautiful, making him smile as Sandra had led him towards a red haired girl and lager blonde boy.
“And this is Troy and my friend Elizabeth.” she had said towards him as others had went and started to crows around Sandra while Troy spoke to him, “You’re of the country?” he had asked of him, “Errr…” he had said, unsure on how he should answer that, which Troy didn’t like the sound of, “You’re not from here?” he had asked with a scowl towards him which made him smirk, thinking of Beemer.
“No… downtown.” he had said, thinking that it was the best answer, but he didn’t like that, “‘Downtown’ where exactly?” he had asked of him, “Um…” Namor started to say, “How mysterious.” Elizabeth had said to him, “How blue collar.” Troy said almost like an insult, “Troy!” Elizabeth shouted, “I’ll get you… err… beverages.” he had said, starting to regret coming here right now.

Things were interesting as he had went to go and party with her, the two of them went and danced with each other until Troy had ‘cut in’ like others were doing, so he had decided to take the beautiful pianist and danced with her, the only one that wasn’t as pale as the other kids there before he had went to dance with Sandra again, both liking that as they had gotten ready to leave.
As they did so, Troy had went and shoved Namor, “You stink of sweat…” he said, surprising Namor, “Hey!” He had shouted in irritation as Sandra had held his arm, “C’mon, let’s go.” she had said when Troy shove him into a pillar, “…and watermelon rinds.” he had said and hearing that, Namor had gotten angry, “What?” he had questioned, grabbing at his hand and adding pressure.
“ARGHHH!” He had shouted in pain, kneeling onto the ground, the girls rushing forward, Sandra had gently removed his hand from Troy, “Don’t.” she had advised and seeing her worried expression, he had went and let go, “Please, you don’t know your own strength.” she had said, neither one aware that he had dropped his necklace during the altercation between each other.

The two of them had walked the waters, being a bit silent until Sandra spoke, “…really something. I loved dancing with you…” she had said, but Namor knew that there was more, “But…?” he had asked of her, “I can’t be around people who treat me like a fool.” she had said and that made him regret it, “I never said…” he had started before she had turned onto him, angry right now.
“That’s just it, you never said.” she had told him, “You never said you can breathe on land but no one else from Atlantis can.” She had told him, “Who told you?” he asked, knowing at least one, maybe two others that could do the same, “Told me?” she had asked him, “Everybody knows Atlanteans need a gill scarf to breathe on land.” she had snapped, glaring as he had known that Nammu told her.
The two of them had continued to the huts as she spoke again, “When you’re in a hole, stop digging, Namor.” Sandra had warned, “We’re not kids on the beach anymore.” and Namor couldn’t argue with that logic, “What is it you’re hiding from me?” she had asked of him and hearing that, he had decided to come clean, “You’re right.” he had said before starting to strip from the clothing.
“My mother is Atlantean. My father…” he had started before removing the coat, “…is from the land. Yes. I figured.” Sandra had told him as he started to take his pants off, “Oh.” he had said, making her get angrier, “That's all you have to say, ‘oh’?” She had questioned of him, irritating him now, “My father and mother never married.” He had told her, “I don’t know him. I’ve never even met him.” Namor explained.
That had made Sandra lose SOME of her hostility at that, “And?” she had asked, “And…” he had said, taking his shirt off now, “…my mother is the king’s daughter.” he said, surprising her as Sandra gave a small smile, “So, you’re royalty now?” she had asked as he was in his normal clothes now, “Yep. The Prince of Atlantis.” he had said, annoyed as he had put the clothes back in the hut.
“But I wanted to get away from that. To be able to breathe. To be here.” he had admitted towards her as he had turned back and she looked deeply into his eyes, “I don’t like secrets.” she said as he put his hands on her shoulders, “I’m not fine china. I won’t break.” she had told him which made him nervous, “I was scared that YOU’D be scared, that it’d be too much to deal with.” Namor admitted, stroking her cheeks.
“I won’t break.” she had told him and hearing that, he had looked into her eyes and that had made him believe her, to see into her eyes and with that, he had went and walked down to the beach, he had went and gently held her hand as the two of them had headed down towards the water, both of them knowing what was going to be happening down there and both liked it.

“A prince?” Sandra had asked as she had lost her shoes, Namor already skyclad as he had went and helped her get out of her clothes, “Yeah.” he had said to her, “Wow.” Sandra had told him as he unzipped the back of her dress, “From the outside, maybe. Under the surface… it’s lonely.” he had told her as she had shimmied out of her dress, “You have Bobo, Nammu and… Dorma.” she had told him.
“We ride the same tide, but it’s not the same.” he said, looking out to the moon, “Bobo only has to be Bobo. Nammu knows her purpose and Dorma can understand… but she doesn’t feel the weight.” he had told her, “I can’t just be Namor, I have to be the Prince of Atlantis.” he had said, focused on the moon when she spoke up, “Well, let’s forget you’re a prince.” she said to him.
That was when he had seen that she had stripped herself of her undergarments, making him look in wonder and in appreciation, she had took his hand and guided him into the water, “Just for tonight.” she had said and that made the boy and the girl both happy at the thought as they had went and enjoyed the night with each other with fun and merriment with each other.

“So SOMEBODY was having fun!” Nammu had said to her friend with a wicked grin, making the Bobo grin as well towards their friend who had went and sighed, “Relax, it’s not the first time.” he had said to them, “True… but you never went to see them the next day.” Bobo had said, making Nammu look, “What about Dorma?” she had asked, glaring towards him.
Before he could save himself, they had heard the sound of two others approaching, “Sandy, wait.” a stranger had shouted, “Breathing feels funny. I’m scared!” a girl had said, probably using Air Algae like what Namor gave Sandra when they heard her, “It just takes a minute to get used to. You’ll be fine!” Sandra had said as they had watched the two of them when the lighter blonde spoke.
“I want to go back.” she had said, worried, “But, Liz, we’re almost there.” Sandra had said as Nammu had looked to the boys, “But you promised.” the girl continued when Namor had spoken, “Sady!” he had shouted, making the two look to see the three, “Hi.” he had said with a smile as they swam to each other, “Hi.” she had said as Bobo had his back to the girl while Nammu backstroke around them.
“I’m being polite and waiting for someone to introduce us dry style.” Bobo had said, “Only someone seems to have forgotten the rest of the world exists.” Nammu had said with a smirk which Bobo and the girl had done as well, “Liz, Bobo and Nammu, Bobo and Nammu, Liz.” she had said before Namor had went and swam downwards, “Let’s go.” he told them, “I can’t.” Liz had told them.
“I don’t feel well.” she had said, gagging on something now, “You three go ahead, I’ll take care of Liz.” he had told them, “Have fun!” Nammu had teased as she had went and followed the two lovebirds, the pair of them going and heading upwards to try and get her situated and fine at the moment as they had started to think on how they would entertain the girl.

“Koff! Koff!” Liz had went as Bobo had went and helped her up, “Unghh.” she had went, going on her knees as Bobo put the scarf on, turning his skin pink with it, “You’re supposed to breathe the stuff, not swallow it.” he had teased to her, making her smile at his little joke, “Sorry. I’m not like Sandra.” she said, wiping her hair to the side with a nervous smile, “What’s so bad about that?” he asked.
She paused, a bit surprised, so much so that he almost thought that he broke her before Liz spoke, “You can go back under. Don’t feel like you have to stay.” she had told him as Bobo had went and stood up, “Why would I leave?” he had asked her, “We’re gonna have fun…” Bobo went, offering his hand, “…Aren’t we?” he said, a bit worried, at least until she took his hand.

8/4/1936, Atlantis, Pacific Ocean
As the three of them swam, Sandra was growing concerned, “I promised I’d go back with her.” she said as they approached some strange stonework, “She’s fine.” Namor told her, “Hasn’t found her sea lungs yet.” he had told her, making Sandra still worried, “I’m sure Bobo is keeping her plenty entertained.” Nammu teased as she stopped by a statue, “Where are we going?” she had asked them.
“To see my home.” Namor had said as they started to swum by some Coral houses, Atlantean children with training tridents swimming by and playing, “Is this is?” she had asked as Namor grabbed her hand, making Nammu laugh, “No…” She had said as they had went over a hill to reveal the city proper, “…THIS is Atlantis.” Nammu had told her as they saw the other kids their age singing and dancing.
“What’s going on?” Sandy asked, being led down into the party, “A little Atlantean mixer.” he had said, holding her tightly as Nammu saw her cousin, “[Cousin! How are you doing?]” she asked, making Sandra look, “Her family’s from Lemuria, different language.” he had said as she had nestled into him, “This is not like the mixers back home.” she told him as they had all swam and danced around.
“That’s because they’re dry. Down here, we don’t mind getting wet.” he had told her as a tattooed boy by them grabbed Nammu’s cousin playfully to dance, “Hold on tight. Wouldn’t wanna lose you in this crowd.” he had warned as she had gently pushed him back, “You hold on, tiger…” she had said, surprising the Prince, “…I’ll take the lead.” she had told him, wrapping his arms around her waist.
The two of them had went and started to twist and dance above the others, liking it, LOVING it, before they had eventually gotten tired, “Phew. Too hot.” she had said, “I’ll get you a drink.” Namor had said, heading to the stalls as some girls had went and approached Sandra which Nammu had seen, “Enjoying yourself, honey?” one of them had asked her which made her smile.
“Yes! It’s nothing I’ve ever seen before.” she had admitted as Nammu had seen that it was some of Dorma’s followers that were there, “Nope. Don’t see too many dry girls slumming it in Atlantis.” the leader of the trio said, making Sandy lose her smile, “Girl, she ain’t slumming it. Not when she’s bumpin’ tails with royalty.” she said as another girl laughed, making Nammu roll her eyes.
“He’s caught all the tail in Atlantis, now he’s casting his net on dry land.” another said as Sandy started to shiver, “Getting cold, hon?” the leader had said as Nammu had decided to intervene, “You people always get cold and stiff, even when you’re all smothered up like that.” she had said when Nammu had seen that Namor was approaching, “You’ve gotta try a jufu jel…” he went seeing them all.
“Sandy, you okay?” he had asked her as he swam to them and Nammu descended, “Would any of you like a jufu jelly?” he said, making them snap, “Atlantean girls too boring for you now, Namor?” the leader asked, “You two go, I’ll deal with them.” she had snapped, getting in front and making the girls spooked while the two swam off, “What are you doing?” the leader asked.
“What am I?” she had asked, “Yeah! You want that Pinkling to steal him from Lady Dorma?” they had asked as Beemer approached. “That Pink Prince with a piece of dry tail?” He had asked as Nammu scowled, “Do you honestly believe that Dorma has anything to worry about?” she had asked, making them a bit ashamed, “She’s just a little little plaything, nothing more, nothing less.” She had said, looking with the others.
“Thanks. I AM feeling a little chilly…” Sandy had said, glad that Nammu had saved her like that, “You don’t have to feel the cold.” he had said, going to hold her, “Wonderful.” she said, feeling warmer now, “Now tell that to my chattering teeth.” she had told him, hearing that, he had raised a hand to grab a fish, “Let your body adapt. Don’t fight it.” he had advised towards her.
I’m not fighting anything.” she had said as he had caught it, “Fish don’t feel the cold… their body chemistry works, but it’s slower.” he had told her before letting the animal go, “You’re warm.” she had told him, making him lean in closer to share body heat, “Better?” he had asked her, “Much.” she had said as they had stayed close, starting to slowly descend with each other until the queen saw them.
“Namor! Quit fooling around and give me a hand.” she had shouted out, snapping the two of them out of it, “Who’s that?” Sandy had asked of him, “Queen Korra. My grandma.” he had told her before they had both went and started to swim towards them, “Bring your friend with you. We could do with the help.” Korra had said, waving them over as they saw the ink coming out still.
“I can’t find that no–good Thakorr.” she had said playfully about her husband, “Never there when dirty work needs doin’.” she had said as the two teens saw what it was, “…ugly stuff just keeps comin’.” Korra had said as her and Bobo’s father went to seal another leak, “Never seen anything like it, Sandy, have you?” The queen had asked as she traced it with her hand, pulling a bit to her face.
“Sandy?” Namor had asked, a bit concerned, “No.” she said, looking away, “Never seen anything like it.” the girl had said so they decided to ignore it, “Well, no point in just staring at it.” Korra told them as she knelt down to it, “Pass me the hammer, hon. Let’s try and patch this wound up.” she had said as Sandy gave it, “Where’s Bobo when we need him?” she had remarked.
“I’m his pa, I’m always the last to know.” his father had said, “He's on the beach with my friend Liz.” she had said to them, making him sigh, “Like I say, I’m the last to know.” he remarked, “Once the work’s done, Thakorr usually shows.” Korra had muttered, “Never mind, Sandy, drop by the cove next time and you’ll meet Thakorr and the rest of the clan.” The Queen told her.
“I will.” she had promised as they had seen the ink starting to vanish, “Good job. It’s holding.” he had went as they had seen that Nammu was approaching, “Hey there! What’s up next?” she had asked the two of them, making them both smile towards their friend before deciding that now was a good time to get Bobo back and bring Sandy back up to the surface.

“Look! Nammu, Namor and Sandy are back.” Liz said, pointing towards the spot where she saw the two of them surfacing, “Where?” Bobo had asked, looking towards the water, so she took her chance, “Made you look.” she had said, tossing the ball to the back of his head which made him smile as he got up to chase her, “Just you wait…” “Arrghhh, keep him away! Sandy, help!” Liz shouted.
The girl had playfully hid behind Sandy and the two Atlanteans at that, “Ha ha!” Liz had went with a smile, “C’mon Namor, we invented this new game: face ball.” Bobo said, making Nammu grin, “I’ll pitch first.” she had said, taking the ball, chasing the two of them now with a wicked smile, “We should be heading back. Liz!” Sandy had shouted out to her, “A little longer.” Liz told her.
At that, Sandy had went and turned towards Namor, “Someone’s been having fun.” she said with a smile, “What about you?” Namor had asked of her as the three paused to look at them, “Maybe a little.” she had said towards him, “Only a little?” Namor asked, making his two friends roll their eyes before she had went and kissed him deeply as the two knew that this would be something.

8/4/1936, Nammu’s Rooms, Atlantis
Nammu had went and sat on her bed, annoyed with Namor and Sandy as she had went and groaned, hating that he was being so annoying when Dorma’s admirers had went and started to go enter her room with Beemer, “Beemer, I’m not in the mood–!” “So you don’t like Namor hanging out with the pinkling girl either?” he had asked as they had gotten situated.
Nammu had went and raised her eyebrow at that, putting her coral tablet away that she had been writing on to give them her full attention, “I don’t dislike her.” she had told them, “I just know that she’s nothing more than a little interesting thing, nothing more, he’s not going to marry her or anything.” Nammu had said to them, “Of course! Because Lady Dorma is–!” “Getting my report on this.” she told them.
That had surprised them all as she had raised an eyebrow, “What? You didn’t think that Dorma wouldn’t want me to keep an eye on The Prince and ask for reports?” she had asked as Beemer had gotten a bit curious, “So what are you going to do?” he had asked of her, making Nammu get up, “Absolutely nothing.” she had said towards them, making the four confused.
“Why nothing?” one of the girls had asked, making Nammu going and stretching at that, “Because Namor has a short attention span to interesting things.” she had told them, making the group curious, “If he sees something neat, he’ll keep an eye on it, but eventually… he just swims back to Atlantis.” Nammu had said towards them, “So, yes, nothing for now.” the lady had admitted.
“Now if you’d be so kind, get out of my room.” she had told them, making the girls go and obey while Beemer had looked at her, smirking, “Seems like we’re more similar than we thought.” he had told her, “Just get out of here.” she had snapped, making Beemer chuckle at that as he swam away, letting her get back to her report and feeling a bit more annoyed with Beemer than she originally was.
