Chapter 1
The words around my stomach were “I need to see your comms ma’am.” and “Are you ready for this great adventure?” I never thought I would have soulmates the first one appeared when I was 13 and the second one when I was 15. After a while I thought I wasn’t going to have one let alone two. I study them with intense interest. I can tell that one is female, and the other male based on their writing. From the color of the marks, I can tell they are my platonic. Not everyone is blessed with a soulmark so I am very happy to have the ones I do have.
Years after receiving my soulmarks, the world has taken its toll on me. I have been give an assignment from Nick Fury to watch over Phil Coulson. The man that was once my partner. I am checking the avionics and I feel a tap on my shoulder to see a man. “I need to see your comms ma’am.” He has his hand out waiting for me to give them to him. It takes me a moment to adjust after hearing my soulmark words. This is Leo Fitz the engineer. “What will you be need my comms for Agent Fitz?” In looks up in awe after I gave him my comms device. “Oh I-I will be uh are you my soulmate?” I just nod back to his question. He is smiling a very goofy smile. His hand encasing mine. Behind him is a woman propped up against the wall smiling very mischievously. “Are you ready for this great adventure?” The woman’s name is Skye. Agent Fitz and Simmons lab assistant. “Yes, I think I am.” I smile and feel a deep happiness for the first time in a while.
