Testing
Peter is dead tired as he puts on the Spider-Man suit. He still has a lot left to test on Love, especially with the new HUD he installed.
He took off and started testing the vitals screen, tried jumping off of high places and drinking before hand to see if it worked. He also needed to test the identification tech he had manufactured into Love's settings.
It was early on in his afternoon patrol that he spotted a car following him, going as far as to breaking traffic laws to get behind him. So naturally, he figured what better time to test the new tech and get a better outlook on what he's dealing with. It took a few seconds to get the information on screen but Love was already blurting out the basic details. His heart dropped once he heard "Anthony Edward Stark" and promptly dropped down to a random roof mid-swing.
He manages to stave off a little panic attack and pulls out his phone to check if the information was indeed true. It was.
A small part of him, a teeny tiny part hoped Tony had come there for him, that he remembered him but he promptly squashed that thought and went to the logical reasoning side of his brain.
Fury had been on his ass for a while.
---
His heart was beating out of his chest as he hacked the traffic light and once he confirmed with his own eyes that that was really Tony in that car, he wouldn't have argued if somebody told him his heart stopped right then and there.
Giving the man a place of meeting, he had Love turn the light green again and swung his way there.
The coffee was more of an impulse buy, definitely nothing sentimental for his ex-mentor.
---
After that conversation, if questioned, he himself would tell you that his heart had stopped.
"Holy shit"
