My Hero

Kara sighs, her bed isn't as comfortable as usual.
She couldn't stop thinking about Lena, this was all her own fault. If she hadn't landed on the balcony this wouldn't have happened. How could Lena agree to date her? She hadn't even talked it over with her first.

"Does she even have your number?" Maggie asks as she listens to Kara complain for the unteenth time. "That's not the point, she just agreed." Maggie sighs, "What if she likes Supergirl?" Kara shook her head, "She can't." Maggie rolls her eyes, "Come on, everyone has a crush on Supergirl. She might have just done it to clean up her image, it might just be a contract to her and nothing more. You could also just tell her you are Supergirl and ask her how she feels about you in general?" Kara coughs into her elbow and Maggie turns on the TV. "Still feeling sick?" Kara nods and blows her nose with a tissue. "Don't worry Little Danvers you will be all better soon."

Kara smiled at Maggie. She had become her second sister and the person she would go to often for relationship advice. Kara also saw how happy she made Alex and that made her appreciate Maggie even more.

Maggie heard a knock on the apartment door and  got up to see who it was. "Hi Lena! Come in," Maggie says.

She can't have Lena see her like this. Her nose was runny and her hair was a mess. "Kara's just resting, she caught a nasty cold. I have been needing to head to the store, do you think you could watch her for maybe half an hour?"

Kara glared at Maggie from her bedroom, she just went to the store a few hours ago. "Sure, it'd be my pleasure." Maggie grabs her keys and leads Lena into the bedroom. "Bye Kara, be back soon!"

Kara growls and rubs her nose. "How long have you been sick Kar?" Lena asks and sits on the couch next to the bed. "Only a dayish, pass me my laptop?" Lena passes Kara the computer feeling a bit disappointed with Kara's little interest in talking to her. Then again Kara was sick and probably not at her best. She couldn't be treating her different because of the Supergirl thing if she wasn't at work or on her phone. The chances are she didn't see it.

"HSSTCHEW!" Kara sneezes into her elbow.

"Bless you."

"HRRSSCHEW!"

"Bles-"

"HSSTCHEW..HURSCHOO!"

"You done?"

Kara nods and massaged her nose, "Bless you, I think you need to rest." Kara shook her head and Lena stood up and walked over to the bed. She grabs Kara's laptop and puts it back on the desk. "Hey! I was wor-kh.. KSSTCHEW!" Lena chuckled lightly at Kara. "Bless you." "Stop saying bless you," Kara said pretending to be annoyed. Lena giggled as she found the remote and instead of turning the TV off accidentally flipped the channel.

"We have not heard from Ms Luthor on the incident that has been going viral and conveniently Supergirl seems to be MIA." The photo of Supergirl was on the screen and Lena blushed as she fumbled with the remote trying to turn it off.

Kara pretended to be in shock and Lena put down the remote, "It's not what it looks like I promise. I'll explain later on when you aren't so sick."

Kara sighed, suddenly she felt tired and the urge to go to fall asleep. The last thing she remembered seeing is Lena putting the drapes on the curtain and whispering something along the lines of  "Sweet Dreams."

When Kara wakes up she realizes Lena is gone, Maggie is on the room chair half asleep. Kara stands up and stretches. She feels great and her powers are definitely back, as she can hear all of National City. She lifts Maggie up and places her on the living room couch with a blanket. She looked tired, probably from watching Kara all night.

Kara cannot cook but she writes a note and puts it on the coffee table infront of her couch.

"Thank you so much for watching me Maggie. I can't cook so if you get hungry there is juice and lunchables in the fridge 🙂"

Kara changed into her work clothes and decided to fly to work. When she arrived she saw everyone typing away and the office was about full. "KIERA! Get in here this instant!"

Kara sighs and walks into the office, "Kiera, the biggest scoop comes up in the news and you are just gone!" Kara fidgets with her hands, "I'm sorry Ms Grant I was sick." "Sick! Kiera, you never get sick. Are you better? Wait I don't care anyways, I assume you have seen the biggest scoop of the time!" Kara nods, she honestly had not seen the news or felt the need to read anything about the incident because she lived it but Cat Grant wouldn’t need to know that. "You are the closest thing we have to a resource, your connection to Ms Luthor can really put us over the top."

Kara sighed, she hadn't even talked to Lena about this in the first place. "I'll see what I can do?" Ms Grant shakes her head, "You'll have an article about her say on this on my desk this time tomorrow." "Yes.. yes I will."

Kara walks out and begins the walk to L Corp. The building is guarded with a bunch of security and press are peering in to see any glimpse of Lena. "Hi, I'm here to see Lena Luthor... I'm Kara Danvers." The two security officers in front of the door look at eachother and nod. They open the door and motion for Kara to head inside.

The elevator ride to the top is longer than Kara remembers and she can't decide why she feels nervous. She saw Lena yesterday for Raos sake so nothing could have changed between Kara and Lena in that amount of time.

The door to Lenas office is opened but Kara still knocks on the door. "Come in," Lena says and the first step Kara takes inside the room she trips and falls straight on the ground. Lena takes off her glasses and runs to Kara on the floor. "Kara! Are you alright?" Kara blushes and stands up, she almost falls again but Lena grabs her arms and holds her up. Lena can sense Kara's embarrassment but can't help but think she is adorable.

"I'm so glad to see you, although if you have come during the work day-" "I must have been sent here to write about what's going on with the newest rumored couple Supergirl and Lena Luthor."

Lena offers a half smile and Kara observed her carefully, "Couple? I mean .. is that what people think already?" Lena scratched the back of her neck and Kara decided to tease Lena a little, "Everyone's talking about how you guys would make the hottest couple. I mean the hottest CEO and National City's hero?!" "The hottest CEO? Has the city seen Andrea?"

Kara bit her lip to keep from grumbling. Andrea had always seemed more of Lenas level and ideal type of friend compared to Kara Danvers. Hot, rich, owner of almost as many buildings as Lena.

"Andrea is .. cool but I mean Supergirl must like you. She was in your bedroom right?" Lena nodded and stared out the window. "I .. I have so much to tell you about this all. Off the record?"

Kara nodded, "Can I just put down you don't want to comment on any of this at this time?" Lena shook her head, "I can give you more but only after I check in at the DEO."

Kara remembered she had to pretend to be Kara at this time and tried to remember what Kara Danvers would know about the DEO. "Where Alex works?" Lena nods, "If I tell you this you cannot tell anyone else." Kara with an invisible key zips her lips together and Lena giggles, "Dork." "HEY!" "Just kidding, I think you are the most adorable dork in the world."

Kara blushed and Lena smiled at the reporter. She realized she had been staring into her eyes for awhile and cleared her throat, "Ahem.. so the DEO wants me.. to date Supergirl under a contract."

Kara's eyes go wide and Lena nods, "I know I'm going to be dating Supergirl hero of National city!" Lena is giggling and blushing and Kara just sits. "It's uh.. going to be great for the company?" Lena offers and Kara nods slowly. "Kara darling correct me if I'm wrong.. but you don't look happy about this all?"

Kara bites her lip and looks at the ground. She's happy, of course she's happy. She is going to be dating Lena and Lena is happy about it. She just wishes Lena wanted to date Kara Danvers instead of her alter ego.

"No, no Lena I'm happy.. you're happy right?" Kara asked and Lena nodded. "I mean.. I can learn so much about her and Krypton. I can't help but think we will be amazing partners and.. .. maybe even friends! Maybe even mo- ..Kara?"

Kara was looking out the window and uninterested. "Sorry I think I'm still a little tired .. from being sick?" Lena reassuringly nodded and showed a look of sympathy. "I'm so sorry I forgot, you must still be a bit under the weather. I'll forward you what the DEO says tonight. Infact I'm heading over there now to talk with Supergirl and Colonel Haley about the agreement. Do you want a ride home?" Kara shook her head, "I'll see you tomorrow for game night?" Lena nods, "Wouldn't miss it for the world."

Kara exits the building and passes the paparazzi. When she thinks she's a good distance from L Corp she flys to the DEO. "I'll do it!" Is the first thing she says to Haley when she enters the building. "That's great news! Lena should be here in about half an hour so we can discuss what's going to be our first step in your relationship. You can wait in the conference room and we will get started."

Supergirl enters the room and sits down. It's empty and for awhile she sits alone with her thoughts.

She sees a missed call from Lena. She calls her back and holds the phone to her ear. "Hey Kara? I have to tell you something. I just wanted to say I made a mistake. I love Supergirl and I mean I think she's hot but you are hotter. I don't know why I didn't see it before, I'd rather date you Kara Danvers. So will you Kara do the honor of being my girlfriend?" Kara smiles blushes, "Hello?" "Yes Lena, I'll be your girlfriend!" "Hello? Supergirl? Are you sleeping?"

Kara jolts awake and sees Lena beside her. "The meeting was starting soon and I assume you would like to be awake for it?" Kara nods and rubs her eyes, it was just a dream. "I almost feel bad for waking you, you looked like you were sleeping good. What were you dreaming about?"

Kara fixes her posture slightly, "Nothing." Lena nods slowly, "You sleep talk you know?" Kara turns red and Lena giggles, she places her hand over Kara’s. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about I mean…we technically will be girlfriends soon. Are you feeling better since the thunder?" Supergirl nodded happy Lena changed the subject, "Thank you, I truly mean it." Lena smiled and just then Haley walks into the room.

"Perfect you two are already getting along. So this is the deal." Lena tries to hide her surprise, no introduction just right to buisness. "You two have already been spotted together so your first activity will be tomorrow night. You two will be heading to National City's Alien bar for drinks and then will be spotted on a rooftop sharing a 15 second kiss…..minimum." Supergirl blushes and Lena raises and eyebrow, "15 seconds?" "Just so we can take great photos. We have cameras in place to take pictures and send them to a few news outlets. We will communicate to you through earbuds but other than that just enjoy it or make it look enjoyable. That's all, I'll forward you guys the details later. I suggest you practice your dancing …and kissing skills."

Haley gets up and walks out, Supergirl just sits not knowing what to say. She always thought of kissing Lena but never even imagined timing it or for their first kiss to be with her as Supergirl. Lena stood up at her pushed in chair and leaned forward. "Meet me at my house tonight for .. 8?" Lena asks and Supergirl just nods. This couldn't be for kissing practice, right? She was definitely getting ahead of herself.

"Oh I almost forgot,” Lena says when she’s halfway out the room, “Bring breath mints, and your favorite heels."
