Chapter 1: Where it all began...
The noise from the crowd was deafening as they all howled and smashed their hands together for Thor, the firstborn of Odin, and heir to the throne of Asgard. The brothers father had always preached the idea that either of them had an equal chance of becoming king. But as he grew older, it was clear to Loki that he never stood a chance against his brother. That’s why as Thor walked down the hall, waving his hammer and cheering, the Frost Giants were making their way through the palace, to Odin’s treasure room.
Of course when Thor had found out about the invasion of the palace, he was furious, and his thoughtlessness ways of solving problems were put to use once more. And all Loki had to do to ensure his place at the throne, was turn a blind eye to Thors plan, ensure him that it was going to work, and feed the flame roaring inside of his irresponsible head.
However what Loki was not expecting, was to discover that he was adopted. That his whole life had been a lie, and that even though he knew Thor had the better chances of becoming king, Loki hadn’t even the slimmest chance of being anywhere near the throne, and that his father had been dishing out lie, after lie, after lie, about his future. His birthright was never a throne, no. It was to be a hostage to stop the Frost Giants taking over Asgard once more. And when confronting his father about the matter, Odin fell into Odin’s sleep, leaving the crown to Loki for the time being. A small slither of power compared to what he really wanted, what he really desired. Nevertheless, it was a taste of power, one that he thoroughly enjoyed, and one that set him up for a life of chasing his ‘glorious purpose’.
Whilst Thor was in exile on Midgard however, Loki payed him a visit. Telling him that Odin was dead. And that Frigga didn’t want him back on Asgard. It was frankly genius. Thor would be distraught and would never come to Asgard again, in fear of being cast away once more by his own mother. Whilst Odin was resting, Loki let the Frost Giants enter Asgard once more, this time with a much darker intent. To attempt to kill his father. He would stop them of course, becoming Asgards hero and saviour. And then, when they had safely returned back, he would destroy Jotenheim, ensuring support from the Asgardian people. That way the throne would be his for sure. With Thor being in exile, and the Frost Giants destroyed, the throne would, inevitably, fall to him. He would have found his glorious purpose, and would have permanent power over Asgard.
For added security, Loki sent the protector of the treasure room, down to Midgard, to destroy Thor and his precious ‘true love’ once and for all. That would certainly secure him the throne.
But of course, Thor had to go and ruin it all. He couldn’t let Loki have his way, of course not. It’s always about Thor and his silly little hammer.
He found a way back to Asgard, destroying the bi-frost before it could destroy Jotenheim. When father had awoken and assured him that he would never possess a throne, he decided to end it all. He let go and fell into the cosmos, seemingly falling to his inevitable death. Or was that the case?
